Ok, I’m going to try to post a link to a google document with a couple of my poems. If it works… well, we’ll see.
It might or might not be here.
"Sylvester - Sylvester!"
January 8, 2018 at 11:22 am #59330Yes! It did work. So, I think you should be able to read the poems by clicking on the link.
Note please, these are not poetry, they’re poems. There’s a difference. 🙂

How would you define the words poetry and poem?
In what ways would you say they are different and in what ways are the the same? I’m curious 🙂
Oh yeah I like your poems by the way! (I did read them haha) I think the 2nd one was my favorite though I like them all.and I was so confused
January 8, 2018 at 12:30 pm #59342@notawriter Well, I was kind of thinking along the lines of, A poem is a piece of writing, usually defined as something with rhyme and rhythm. Poetry has a much broader meaning, which includes something beautiful and elegant which appeals to the higher senses. My poems certainly do not do that! 🙂 So yes, technically you can’t say there’s a difference between poems and poetry, but I was trying to convey that my poems are not meant to make people think, or to sound sweet and lovely. They are meant to make people laugh! 🙂
Thanks! I like the second one a lot too. I usually write the poems and then read them afterward to laugh and say, “Did I really write that?!” I liked describing the dragon’s ideals and way of life. 🙂

@rochellaine I really like them! They were a lot of fun to read and made me smile. Thank you for sharing!
January 8, 2018 at 2:23 pm #59386@rochellaine Oh wow! Those are awesome and definitely fun to read! And since they are poems there was no way that I couldn’t read them aloud. 🙂
"For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind."
January 8, 2018 at 9:25 pm #59459@rochellaine XD XD XD 😀 😀
Those are hilarious
I thought no one
Would know I was reading these poems
But upon reading these tales
I quaked such a gale
That all of my family was drawn by my laughter
Like animals called, sought the source of such clatter
And upon seeing the poems, only left after
They assured themselves nothing was truly the matter
XD Wow, that’s bad. Nothing like yours. Good job, anyway 😀

@radically-surrendered and@skredder I’m glad you liked them! As I said before, their sole purpose is to make people laugh. 🙂
@sam-kowal Hahahaha!!! 🙂 Which one did you like best?"Sylvester - Sylvester!"
January 9, 2018 at 4:32 am #59486@rochellaine Oooh, my favourite is the dragon one, too, and then the giant ones. 😀 These are great!
Currently reading Les Miserables
January 9, 2018 at 3:46 pm #59532@rochellaine Those were fantastic! I’m interested myself learning to do poetry or poems etc but I just don’t have a way with words. Yours were great, though! Keep it up 😉
I can't believe it's not butter!
January 9, 2018 at 3:55 pm #59533@rochellaine These are amazing:) 🙂 🙂
Harry Potter forever!!!!
January 9, 2018 at 5:28 pm #59556@perfectfifths and @kballen Thanks! I think my favorite is actually the giant one because the story is more unusual (can I use that as a synonym for “totally weird”?), but I do like a couple of lines from the dragon poem a lot, such as “I faltered for a moment but/began to argue with the nut,” because it’s so crazy.
@itisastarrynight I’m glad you liked them! I try to keep it up, but sometimes my poems turn out great, and sometimes they just won’t write themselves! I write prose a lot more often. 🙂"Sylvester - Sylvester!"
January 9, 2018 at 5:39 pm #59562@rochellaine Yes, of course. Being creative isn’t always a walk in the park. No sweat 🙂
