*Bites nails, hovers on edge of seat and tears and frazzled hair* Come on Ezra! What were you going to say? Huh? HUH!? Tell me!!!!!! I WANNA KNOW! Don’t leave me in suspense!!!!!!!!!!
October 29, 2015 at 5:21 pm #6917Actually, the lack of words there makes Ezra’s point. 😛 Leave them wanting a vital piece of the story that you didn’t give them. Something should be missing/in question at pretty much any given part of the story.
October 29, 2015 at 5:49 pm #6918The funniest bit, is that I actually had an entire post planned out.
I’m never gonna post it though, because as Rosey said, a smart person /should/ be able to infer the entire thing from my other post.
And because since the KPR cancellation, I’ve lost all loyalty to this place.
Trolololololololo
October 29, 2015 at 7:11 pm #6919Makes sense. Got it completely.
Hm. But I thought that was all a given.
It is, after all, called… get this… a cliffhanger.
That pr-etty much sums it up.
In my opinion.
Which has been wrong on more than one occasion. 😛
But how much is too much and how tense is too tense?
I don’t think you should leave off with absolutely NOTHING resolved— if you build the entire book up to that moment, and then you just cut it, you’re going to leave the reader in— you’re going to give the reader an existential crisis. That was for you, Ezra.
October 30, 2015 at 10:05 am #6939What does that mean, anyway? Existential crisis? What IS that?
October 30, 2015 at 10:09 am #6940…I happen to romantically love existential crisis. Don’t tell me I can’t have them, and give them.
And if you don’t know what it is…
I’m so sorry.
If you really want to know, go read that short story I posted on here…somewhere, I dunno. It’s a pretty good summary.
October 30, 2015 at 10:24 am #6944What is life? What is me? What is the use of me? Oh me. Oh my. Oh, oh oh oh. woe

October 30, 2015 at 10:29 am #6946You’re having a crisis over your existence, to break it down simply.
October 30, 2015 at 12:01 pm #6953Okay. I think I got it. 😛
I respect the Constitutional right of every American citizen— um wait. That won’t work. Heehee…
I respect the basic human right of every human being to have an existential crisis.
There. I said it.
October 30, 2015 at 12:37 pm #6955Thank you
But careful now. Don’t go hitting on my girl.

October 30, 2015 at 1:39 pm #6974Existential Crisis’s. Remember? I’m romantically in love with them.
October 30, 2015 at 1:51 pm #6975Ah, of course. Fine tastes Ezra, fine tastes.

October 30, 2015 at 3:15 pm #6979Fine indeed.
So does anyone else have anything to say on cliffhangers?
Good.
Now let’s move on to cliched titles. I didn’t originally plan to discuss this on this topic, but I glanced at my title for the topic and noticed that it mentioned cliched titles. So.
What does anyone have to say on cliched titles? Anything? Who wants to give a list of cliche titles?
