Hope you don’t mind a bit of interaction 😅😋 It takes me so long to actually talk to anybody.
Moon
Moon approached the groaning woman – Matilda, he heard her name was – and placed his hand on her knee.
“I’m so sorry, ma’am,” he said firmly, leaning down to better see her. “I’m sure the children meant no harm.”
He then turned to the woman, Sybil. His knees knocked in spite of himself, and he had to blink stars away. “Miss Sybil? I do believe I’m feeling quite woozy. Is there some water… for me?”

Sybil noticed Moon swaying slightly, and she quickly reached out to steady him before he could pass out. She turned to the servant who had addressed Mrs. Baumann.
“Could you bring some water out here for Moon, as well?” she asked. The servant nodded and hurried off, and Heinrich Baumann stepped briskly over to his wife. Grabbing her arm somewhat aggressively, he began leading her from the room. With Matilda’s chair now vacated, Sybil helped Moon sit down.

We need to bring this RP backkkkkkk XD
Felix
The chaos finally adverted, Felix stepped aside to make sure he was out of everyone’s way.
“Felix, come here.” Heinrich snapped, standing in another room.
Felix instead crouched in front of Moon.
If his father truly needed him, he could come and get him…he knew his father just wanted to lament the loss of their so-called special tablecloth.
“Are you alright, Moon?”
Hans
Hans grinned. “I like you, Anna…never met a girl like you. Follow me.”
He lightly kicked Night in the side, making the horse run faster.
Hans held tighter to the reins and slightly lowered his body, bringing it closer to Night.
He encouraged Night forward…forward…forward.
Clop. Clop. Clop!
“Now.”
He pulled up on the reins.
In one elegant jump, Night leapt over the stone wall. Hans brought the horse to a stop several feet away and watched as Anna leapt over the wall, elegant, beautiful, and adventurous.
Hans descended off of Night, petting the gentle horse’s muzzle.
Anna laughed and descended Star. “That was amazing.”
“Told you. You did amazing, Anna…you really are special.”
(this just makes me sad thinking about how Hans used to be😭)

Anna
“Told you. You did amazing, Anna…you really are special.”
Anna looked at Hans searching his coal-colored eyes, she gave a small smile and then began to groom Star’s main with her fingers.
“Thank you…” For once Anna was tongued tied, blushing and nervous at the compliment but smiling because it had been Hans who said it. “I suppose it’s silly to like a person after only about two hours with that person, yet I rather do like you, and that’s new for me, liking a boy that is.”
(I knowwww it’s kind of hard to believe this is the same Hans)

I’m heeeere XD
Moon
“Are you alright, Moon?”
Moon criss-crossed his legs on the seat cushion, and gave the young man a toothy grin. “Oh, yes sir. I’m just not the thickest glass bulb in the box, if you catch my meaning.”
He took the glass of water from the servant, fingers trembling, and took a small sip. He watched after the man of the house, who was stalking off with his wife. “I suppose I reacted too hastily.”

@whalekeeper Hellooooooo XD @trailblazer @smiley
Felix
Felix shrugged. “It’s alright…it’s just a tablecloth. Don’t mind him.”
Heinrich’s hand rested on his shoulder. “Felix, a moment.”
His voice was hard…harsh. A warning to Felix to move.
Felix gave both Moon and Sybil a small smile. “I’ll be back.”
Felix straightened and followed after his father and mother, following them outside. “What is it?”
Heinrich’s brows arched. “One, you ignored my call for you to come when I called for you. Second, where are your brothers?”
“My brothers? Himmler was drawing, and Hans-”
“Neither one of them are inside,” Matilda clicked her tongue, “and you don’t even know where they are?”
“It’s not my job to-”
“This is a party, and we expect all of you to engage in it. Do you want everyone to think-?”
“Think what? I only wish they knew how evil both of you really are. I’ll go find Hans and Himmler.”
With that, Felix strode away, fury pulsing in his veins.
He’d made them pay…one day, he’d make them pay.
Hans
“I suppose it’s silly to like a person after only about two hours with that person, yet I rather do like you, and that’s new for me, liking a boy that is.”
Hans chuckled. “I guess we both feel the same about the other then…I’ve never liked a girl as much as you…they’re all too…”
“Snobby?”
Hans nodded. “Exactly. But you…you’re…different.”

Anna
Hans nodded. “Exactly. But you…you’re…different.”
“My parents never let us be snobs,” Anna smiled. “they raised us to be proper yet full of compassion,”

Yayyy! I’m glad we’re back!
Hudson
When the chaos seemed to die down a little, Hudson turned to find Adeline. Before he could speak to her, however, he was intercepted by Mr. McKinley, who had been standing to his left.
“Well, that was quite the show,” Mr. McKinley chuckled. “I don’t think I’ve ever seen a tablecloth go up in flames at a party before.”
“No, sir.” Hudson cleared his throat, unsure of what to say in response.
“What’s your name, young man?”
“Hudson Thurman,” Hudson replied, shaking the man’s hand. “Nice to meet you.”
“You as well.” Mr. McKinley smiled, his eyes kind. “What is your profession?”
Hudson swallowed. He hated when people asked him this question. “I’m studying law.”
“You’re the eldest?” Mr. McKinley guessed. It was customary for the eldest son of an upper class family to go into law school.
“Yes, sir.”
Mr. McKinley began to talk about a friend of his who was a lawyer, and Hudson tried to listen attentively, but he wished the conversation could be over. Although he was studying law, he had no desire to be a lawyer. What he really wanted was to be a doctor, but to go against his father’s wishes would be dishonoring. Not to mention the bruise it would be to Father’s pride to have his eldest son go into medicine.
“Excuse me, I don’t think you heard my question.” Mr. McKinley’s words quickly brought Hudson back to earth. He flushed.
“I’m sorry, sir. I guess I got distracted.”
“Would you prefer a different topic of conversation?”
“This is fine… I’m just… My father wants me to be a judge, but I would rather be a doctor. I don’t want to go against his wishes, but law school bores me.” Hudson stopped. He should not have blurted all that out to Mr. McKinley. He didn’t need to know of Hudson’s personal struggles. But it was too late now. The cat was out of the bag, and there was no putting it back in.

“I’m sorry,” Reuben frowned, looking at Hudson, “I didn’t mean to intrude.”
“That’s alright, sir,” Hudson cracked a weak smile.
“Say, I wonder where the food is in this place?” Reuben glanced around.
Beside him, Hudson smiled again. Reuben could tell Hudson wasn’t sure whether to laugh or not.

*I walk in, see something about horses, must comment*
Hans pointed at the white spot on Star’s forehead, almost in the perfect shape of a night star. “Yep, Star. Here,” he tossed Anna an apple, “you can feed her.”
Are you aware that marking is in real life called a star? In fact, any white marking only the forehead of the horse at least has star in the name.
Just cuz I’m horse insane and this happens to be my favorite horse marking, also any white (or pink) marking somewhere between their nostrils is called a snip. The others are blaze, bald, broken blaze, and a few I can’t quite remember. I think there is one more base marking and then the rest are just irregular forms.
*Walk out, wanting to go ride, peek back in and say*

I am very proud of Hans, Felix, Star, and Night, plus Anna…six foot is a feat few horses can do, and few riders!
The next comment, forgive me if I offend.
He encouraged Night forward…forward…forward.
Clop. Clop. Clop!
“Now.”
He pulled up on the reins.
In one elegant jump, Night leapt over the stone wall.
Three beats. Three beats means a canter, and I happen to have a problem with staying down more in my saddle during a canter, so Hans pulling himself down would be realistic, except, the half seat. Before a jump, especially a tall jump like this, you shorten your reins and pick up a half seat, your heels are pushed down, weight distributed mostly in the thigh (if you have ridden, you shall know the feeling), bottom off the saddle (how do I explain this position further? I know what it looks like but you may not so that makes it hard…) Hands sometimes grasp a piece of mane, but that’s a beginner thing as far as I know, and no weight whatsoever from your hands on the neck of the horse!
And in what universe do you pull up on the reins to jump? I am guessing Hans is riding English style, and as far as I know, you don’t pull up, you will use your heels to put pressure on their sides to keep them going, get in your half seat, be balanced, but I don’t remember ever pulling up on the reins. In fact the reins are shorter, and a half seat makes it hard to pull up on them. I mean, I have never done six foot, I actually only was able to start riding this year, I am by no means a professional at any part, so take this with a grain of salt. I know a half seat would be needed, but the reins… I highly doubt that’s how you do it, but it could be…I shall research.
Last note: Hans, I envy your balance!

I criticize to much. Disregard that I ever said anything, I shouldn’t be criticizing on an RP.
"You need French Toast."
November 10, 2023 at 8:09 am #163915I wouldn’t call it criticizing 😅 To me, it just looks like you really like riding, and you want to talk about how it actually works 🤷♀️ Not to speak for Freedom or anything. I think horseriding is a fascinating subject.

Anyone know how these parties are supposed to work? Do they have the food at a long dining table? At round tables around the room? On a table where people go up and help themselves and then find seats wherever?

November 10, 2023 at 8:35 am #163922I did a little bit of research and from what I can gather it looks like multiple tables, which would make sense given the number of guests in attendance. Also, I read about some of the food served if that interests you guys. This is just an example.
Hors d’oeuvres: oysters, deviled eggs, canapes (I’m not familiar with those)
Soups: turtle soup
Fish: salmon, trout, or sole
Main course: a choice of roast beef, lamb chops, venison, pheasant, turkey, or chicken.
Side dishes: roasted vegetables or potatoes, creamed spinach, Yorkshire pudding (whatever that is), fine cheeses
Desserts: trifle, fruit tarts, custards, sponge cake
And then of course wine and such to accompany the meal.
