@freedomwriter76
Sorry this is sooo late! I didn’t get an email that you responded. lol
Anyhow….
Blair
“Excuse my brother, he can be a little…probing.”
Blair looked at the house, then the Baumanns, and then at his sister.
“Oh, it’s perfectly fine. Believe it or not, I get lots of it from this brother of mine.” Isabella said. She laughed a sweet laugh, and smiled warmly.
She’s lying. This girl is lying. How could she say that? I rarely even talk to her. ISABELLA!
“Anyhow, I wanted to take in as much of your lovely house as I could before I stepped inside. I’m sure that is what my little brother is doing as well. But no matter, let’s not waste any more time dawdling out here.” Isabella added.
Blair looked at Hans briefly, displaying a grave expression on his face. Then he looked at Himmler. When Hans grimaced, Blair became disturbed and looked down at his feet. The Jefferson twins followed the Baumann brothers into the house.
Oh, I wish I were back at home…
Isabella
Isabella looked at Blair. Their eyes locked and they passed a silent “eye” conversation to each other. Oh Blair, you can’t live in your books forever.
“So, what year was this mansion built?” Isabella asked, “I already love it.”
She looked admiringly at the three-story mansion.

Introducing the Thurmans… Whenever your conversation’s at a good breaking point, they can show up at the party! (Also, James is just an extra character that popped up lol)
Bennett
The ticking of the grandfather clock was the only thing that broke the stiff silence in the sitting room of the Thurman estate. The air was thick between father and son as they stood across the room from each other, faces flushed and arms crossed. Though they opposed each other, they looked very much alike in posture and mannerisms.
What were you thinking? Father’s words echoed in 16-year-old Bennett’s mind as he stood his ground. What had he been thinking? He knew going riding on the cliffs with James on such a rainy day was a bad idea. The image of James’ horse slipping still burned itself in his memory. It was a miracle James was still alive after an accident like that.
“It could have been you, Bennett.” The whisper came from Mother, sitting ramrod straight at the edge of her chair, her hazel eyes full of emotion. “What if your horse had slipped, and you fell to your death?”
Bennett knew it would have broken Mother’s heart to lose him, but Father? Father only seemed to care about the family name and the success of his sons.
“I’m sorry, Mother.” Bennett could say those words to her, but not to Father.
“You will not be allowed to go out riding with James again,” Father announced from his stance by the fireplace. “He is a bad influence on you, hear me? I don’t want to hear of you two spending time together anymore.”
“Yes, sir,” Bennett mumbled, although he knew the chances of following through were slim. Father marched briskly from the room, and for a moment, the air seemed full of static as no one moved. Then Mother stood and put her hands on Bennett’s shoulders.
“I love you, Bennett, and so does your father,” she said softly. “We don’t want to lose you.”
“I know you love me, but does Father, really?” Bennett met his mother’s gaze, only two inches lower than his own.
“I know he does,” Mother replied. “He doesn’t show it, but deep down inside, I’m sure he does.” She moved her hands down his wet coat. “Go change into dry clothes before you catch ill,” she added.
“Yes, ma’am.” Bennett turned and left the room, droplets of water flinging from his coat as he did so.
Sybil
Sybil sighed as she watched her son leave the room. She tried to remain strong for her children, but sometimes she herself doubted if Anderson really loved his children. Perhaps there was a part of his heart that did, but the love of wealth and status had choked it out. She quickly brushed away a tear. Did Anderson even love her anymore? He seemed so distant, so cold. When she had married him 25 years ago, they had been so in love, dancing in the moonlight, snuggling by the fire, going out for rides every Sunday afternoon. When had all that changed? This was not the life she had envisioned living with him.
“Mother.” Sybil spun at the voice of her youngest daughter, realizing Liliana must have still been in the room and witnessed the whole thing.
“Yes, dear.” Sybil read the distress on 15-year-old Liliana’s pretty face, as she stood near the window where she’d been unnoticed the entire time. The soft light from the gray sky outside bathed her creamy face in a gentle tone.
“What happened to James?”
Sybil sank back down into the upholstered armchair and gave a sigh. “His horse slipped as the boys were riding the trail by the cliffs. James’ leg was crushed, but neither of them fell from the cliff, praise God. James will be confined for a little while until his leg heals.”
“Why doesn’t Father like James?”
“According to Bennett, going riding in the rain along the cliffs was James’ idea,” Sybil explained. “And that’s not the only… rash… decision James has made.” She tried to use her words selectively. “Your father is afraid of the influence James has on Bennett. You know Bennett doesn’t think before he acts.”
“I thought it was because James is the Emersons’ stable hand, and Father didn’t want Bennett associating with a lower class.”
“Did you finish your piano lesson, dear?” Sybil changed the subject. Her daughter was starting to see the truth.
“Yes, Mother.”
“Then run along and check in with Adeline for me. She wanted to borrow my amethyst necklace for the party tonight.” Sybil didn’t really need Liliana to talk to Adeline for her; she could have done that herself, but she didn’t want Liliana to keep asking questions about her father. Defending Anderson’s actions was tiresome, especially when Sybil felt that she hardly had a reason to defend him, other than the fact that he was her husband and she’d made a vow to stand with him until death.
Adeline
Nineteen-year-old Adeline fingered the beautiful amethyst necklace, resting gently against her graceful neck. It was the finishing touch to her light, flowing outfit, and all that was left was to join the family. Just as she was scrutinizing herself in the mirror one last time, the bedchamber door burst open and Liliana entered.
“Liliana! Haven’t you any manners?” Adeline exclaimed. “What if I had been undressed?”
“Sorry,” Liliana apologized. “Mother sent me to check on you.”
“Is she ready to go?” Adeline was surprised. Mother was always the last one ready to go.
“No, she and Father were talking to Bennett in the sitting room. I suppose she is probably in her room now putting on her gown.”
“What did Bennett do now?” Adeline asked warily. If Mother and Father were talking to him in the sitting room, especially when they should have been preparing for the party this evening, surely that meant Bennett was in trouble.
“He and James went riding along the cliffs,” Liliana replied. Adeline restrained herself from rolling her eyes.
“Of course James would be involved.” Adeline sighed. “Are you coming tonight?”
“Yes, Mother said I might come along this time,” Liliana replied.
“Then go get yourself ready, or Mother won’t be the last one this time.”
… An hour and a half later, the Thurman carriage rolled up to the door of the Baumann estate….

@trailblazer Ok! Your characters are free to join in as soon as @grcr is good with it! Heinrich/Matilda can finish their tour or Felix/Hans can greet the guests…whichever one y’all would prefer 😉Felix
“So, what year was this mansion built? I love it already.” Isabella commented, admiring the exquisite mansion.
“It was built by our father about 15 years ago,” Felix answered, “and this has been our home ever since.”
Isabella smiled. “It is beautiful…I’m sure it’s a good place to live in.”
Hans scoffed and rolled his eyes to the ceiling.
“Hans, manners.” Felix quietly chided, and his middle brother turned to face him, unmasked brokenness and even fury in his coal eyes.
“Manners? Why should we practice manners when our own parents act like brutal animals when no one else is around!?”
“Hans, watch your tone,” Felix turned to Isabella and Blair with a sigh, “please, do excuse my brother…he has no idea what he’s talking about.”
“I know exactly what I’m talking about, and so do you.” Hans snarled, low.
Himmler glanced fearfully between the two brothers, a thumb still in his mouth even though he was way too old to do that.
September 28, 2023 at 8:58 am #157332Your characters can join as soon as you want. I’m fine with whenever. 🙃
Flaz: *yawns* Did the sun just come up? In the west?
September 28, 2023 at 10:49 am #157339I’m going to put in the Krats! I’ve not written them much at all before, so forgive me if some details seem a little vague.
They recently immigrated here, but the father, Al, has yet to follow.
Gabriella Krataristo
Age: In her 50s
A scar-hardened, tiny woman, Gabriella has ragged golden hair, and wide coppery eyes. Like her first son, she has a strong build. She wears a simple black and white dress, and a variety of jewelry.
Gabriella is a sharp-tongued mother, prone to taking things into her own hands. She’s been through a lot, and doesn’t like settling down. One wouldn’t immediately call her beautiful, but past the tough exterior, she would fight for her family honor like an alley cat.
Charles “Char” Krataristo
Age: 15
Char has a strong build, blond hair, fiery, dark brown eyes, and little to no expression. He wears a cream shirt, suspenders, and dark red trousers. Sometimes wears a cap.
Char is quiet and physical. Because he has an hard time understanding his own emotions, he can be extremely violent. He holds a grudge against his father for not being there with them, and doesn’t care for the new neighborhood. But with a few jobs on his hands and a little brother to watch out for, he doesn’t have time to think about it.
Moon Krataristo
Age: 14
Moon is thinner and smaller than his brother, with wispier, lighter hair, tied with a ribbon. He wears similar clothes to Char’s, but has a light blue sheen to them, and a yellow bow tie.
A bright yet optimistic kid, Moon has a habit of finding the most creative solutions to the strangest of problems… even if, to everyone else, there is no problem to begin with. Easily the sweetest kid ever. Although he is the weaker of the two brothers, he provides the vision. He works at a general store, and wants to own an ice cream emporium when he’s old enough.
…
Their home: A small, yet tidy Victorian house, painted dark brown and cream. Four bedrooms (one of them a guest bed, the two boy’s rooms upstairs), a small parlor, living room, dining room, and the kitchen in the back.
They have only two maids and a cook. Moon socializes with them the most, but this only solidifies the servants’ opinion that his head must have been knocked against a table or something.

Okay Y’all, here’s my charries
I honestly love the period in history so I’m excited
The Harrisons (from an old novel idea set in 1912, but I’m changing that and a few other things)
Kate (29)
A strong yet classy lady, she’s stubborn and has a harsh tongue when not careful, she deeply cares for others and never acts snobbish. She and her father only partly get along, being that her father is constantly trying to push marriage on her. She loves her Mother dearly, but she sometimes thinks that she relies too much on prayer and faith and that in order for things to change they must take more action, instead of waiting for God.
Favorite activities are horseback riding, writing letters, reading, and painting
Has bright blue eyes, and waist-length dark brown hair that is always up, she’s wearing a light blue dress, with plenty of white lace accents, with a broach in the top center of her dress.
James (25)
James is the heir to the estate and is constantly working with his father on the business of the estate. All the work has slowly made him more serious, yet with his sisters and Constance he finds himself back to the little boy he used to be, much to his father’s dismay. His father and mother aren’t sure how to feel about Constance, since she’s rather outspoken about her political opinions, but she’s very good at parties and makes a good impression on anyone at the parties.
Loves hunting and riding, along with reading anything about politics and history
Had broad shoulders and is overall very in shape, with sleek brown hair a brown suit, and tall brown boots.
Anna (20)
The youngest of her siblings she can be very easily overlooked by the common eye, but she’s actually the child her parents are constantly worried about. As a girl, she was always climbing in trees and running off into the woods where the nanny couldn’t find her, and now she’s just as wild and crazy, and she can’t stand parties, hating the tight corsets and the snobby people, she often goes to a corner and pulls out the book she had snuck in.
Loves painting and sketching, reading is a must for her, and she adores horses and any other animals.
Has long blonde hair, with aqua eyes, and usually wears purple, today she’s wearing a dark purple dress with black and white accents.
Elizabeth (50)
John’s wife, and strong Christian, hopes to lead her children the right way and is always a moral support for them
A wonderful and strong woman, and a moral compass to her daughters.
She has brown hair with blue eyes and usually wears gold dresses.
John (51)
the head of the household and the earl of the Harrison estate, wanting the best for his children, he teaches his son how to run the estate, and pushes his daughters to fall for respectful and powerful men, sometimes losing sight of God in his own plans
Has brown hair with gray parts, always wears a respectful suit, and cares very much about his appearance.
Staff
Rose (25)
The daughter of two loving but poor parents, she finds that God and her family are all she needs. But when they lose their Mother due to illness and then their father in a factory accident, she and her brother are forced to take jobs at the Harrison estate. But with her bright attitude, she comes in with a hopeful and faithful spirit. She’s a ladymaid to the two girls and enjoys the connection she’s made with both of them.
Pale white skin with rosy cheeks, she had rich brown hair and beautiful brown eyes. A thin complexion, she is always wearing a made uniform.
Joseph (27)
Ever since the death of their mother, Joseph had tried very hard to look after his family, and now with their father gone, he’ll protect Rose with everything he has. He’s a caring and compassionate man with a stubborn attitude. He’s the valet to James.
Looks like Teddy from the new Little Women XD
Florence (14)
A kitchen maid, Florence knows hard work, and she’s grown up looking out for herself. She’s very sweet but stubborn when needed, and is willing to be unladylike when the time calls for it.
She doesn’t know the Lord and struggles to understand why anyone would believe when such horrible things take place every day.
Has curly blond hair and sharp blue eyes. And is always found in old rags and hats to keep her hair up. She loves to sneak out and visit the horses.
Lilith (36)
A ladymaid to Elizabeth, she believes she’s entitled to the respect she deserves. She always scheming on how to make others look bad, and can always find something to use as leverage. She constantly picks on everyone, especially Florence.
Black hair, with dark brown eyes. Always wear a proper black dress.
And then there’s some other staff, that I don’t really have planned out so that’s everyone.

okay I’m going to go ahead and RP
Kate
“Anna don’t slouch,” James directed his younger sister, who was leaning against the carriage side, reading.
“don’t pretend to be father,” Anna expressed, keeping a gentle tone with only a hint of frustration.
Kate looked at her brother, giving a soft smile. “She’s right, Father and Mother aren’t in the carriage so you can act like your old self,”
James tilted his head, raising an eyebrow. He was still in denial that he acted any different around his parents then Constance and his sisters.
“Anna, don’t go running off in a corner somewhere, Father won’t like it,”
Anna side-eyed her sister, closing her book with some force. “I still preferred me staying home,”
“That’s never an option with our parents,” James said, giving an empathetic smile to her sister.
“Father only wants me to come so he can force some poor fellow on me,” Kata said, almost in a whisper, but everyone in the carriage heard it.
“Who knows, maybe you’ll meet the boy of your dreams,” James said.
“Father has given up hope on me ever getting married,” Anna said with a laugh.
Kate gave a forced smile to her siblings and then looked out the window as they arrived at the house. It was giant and beautiful, it didn’t look much different than their house, and she would bet they were built around the same time.
“I have no problem with falling in love, I would just like to choose who I fall for,” Kate stated as the carriage came to a halt.
Kate took a deep breath and then put on a fake smile as she stepped out of the carriage. as her parent’s carriage came to a stop.
Anna came behind her brother, slipping her book into the hidden pocket she had put in her dress. Before greeting the people of the house, she stopped and ran over to the front of the carriage, petting the beautiful horses. She was also clever enough to slip apples into the pocket, and she gave one to one of the horses.
Kate let her sister do whatever, she didn’t need to be the parent. She and her brother stood side by side.
“Will Constance be coming?” Kate asked in a whisper to her brother.
“Possibly,” James stated.
Constance was an intriguing woman to both Anna and Kate, but she was sweet and splendid to James, so they liked her, even if their parents disapproved.
Kate watched as their parents came up beside her and her brother, they were yet to notice that Anna was currently petting the horses and talking to the coach man, which was all frowned upon.
they’d see her soon enough, but Kate enjoyed her wild spirit, even if it was a little improper.

Himmler
Felix and Hans finally stopped being loud, and Himmler turned to see Papa and Mutti walking into the room along with Mister and Missus Jefferson.
Matilda nodded towards the front door. “There are more guests that have arrived…it’s time to greet them.”
He didn’t like guests…
“Please, do make yourselves comfortable in the parlor,” Heinrich smiled at the Jefferson family, “and we will be back in promptly.”
Himmler buried his face in Hans’ shirt as Hans carried him outside to meet guests.
Himmler didn’t like parties…there were too many people, and he didn’t like it.
Heinrich greeted two different families…the Thurmans and the Harrisons, but Himmler didn’t really listen…he just buried his face in Hans’ shirt even more.
He heard the names though…and some of them seemed kinda nice.
“Please, do come inside…there are already a few others inside. Please, do come enjoy the party…we’re happy to have everyone here.” Heinrich greeted with a smile.
The families left along with Daddy and Mutti. Hans gently set Himmler down. Himmler looked up at him, raising an eyebrow. “H-Hans? I-I w-want-”
“Shh…I couldn’t hold you anymore…it was hurting me. You can hold my hand though.”
Himmler nodded and took Hans’ hand, and he followed his brothers inside.
He didn’t like guests…but maybe…maybe some of them could be friendly!

Anna
After a glare from her mother, Anna walked over to her family. Standing beside her older brother. She gave everyone a polite smile and acted as well-mannered as possible. Telling herself she would go hide with her book in a moment.
Anna spotted the youngest child, and she was about to speak, but everyone was walking inside.
Kate grabbed her arm, making sure she didn’t run off.
“Talk for at least a few minutes,” Kate instructed, smiling at Anna.
As sweet as she was acting she still preferred if her sister just minded her own business. With a sigh, she nodded and entered the parlor.
She looked around the room, too many people, too many things going on, Anna noticed the little boy again, he was clutching his older brother. He seemed shy, yet Anna knew he was probably observing everything, picking up on the details that almost everyone missed. Anna wished she could be that young again when her Father would let her hold on tight to him as the guests spoke to him
Sadly there was no going back, and despite her sister’s request she found a nice corner to lean against as she pulled out her book.
