      Adeline

As the guests began settling themselves into seats, Adeline took a seat with Liliana and the two McKinley girls. The buzz around the hall dropped to silence as Mr. Baumann stood in front of everyone. A frown flickered across his face briefly as he scanned the room, but he quickly regained composure. Adeline wondered what the source of his distress could be- perhaps the recent tumult of the incident with the tablecloth.

Then she noticed the table where Mrs. Baumann had just taken a seat. Three empty places remained- Felix, Hans, and Himmler. Where were the sons of the host?

        Emmy

She slipped into her chair, looking around at the other guests. If only she had her notebook…she frowned at the missing places. Where were the other guests, she wondered. Hmmm…a mystery. A smile graced her lips. She had always loved mysteries. More than the mysteries themselves, she loved to solve them.

And so when no one was looking, she slipped away to solve this one.

            Cole Ulrich

Cole leaned back in his chair, his face expressionless. His eyes scanned the faces of each guest, reading their thoughts and studying their behaviours. Finally, he set his hand on the table, and tapped out a sort of tune on the edge of his plate.

            "You need French Toast."

              @rae @everyone

              Ah, we started again!

              Moon

Moon almost immediately began clacking his spoon against his own plate, softly. His mother Gabriella gave him a sharp look from across the table, but he only brushed back a wisp of hair and continued.

              “Everything is a mountain”

                Cole Ulrich

A smile twitched on Cole’s lips as the boy joined him, and he continued his soft tune. He could we some of the guests were annoyed, but others looked almost pleased, as the boy and man kept unison together.

                  Liliana

As Emmy slipped away from the table, Liliana’s eyebrow rose in curiosity. Where was she going? It was time to eat; the servants would be bringing out the food at any moment. A sharp pain in her shin brought her attention to Adeline, seated next to her.

“It’s not polite to raise your eyebrow,” Adeline whispered.

“Sorry.” Liliana wished her sister had chosen a different table. She didn’t care to be badgered with comments about her manners. She could be well-mannered when she so chose, but when Adeline was with her, it seemed that she always made a mistake or forgot which was the correct utensil to use.

Liliana scanned the room, but she couldn’t locate Emmy anymore. Where had the girl gone?

                    Emmy

She wandered through the halls, desperately hoping for a clue. She loved mysteries, but solving one was pointless without any direction. Almost ready to give up, her heart skipped a beat when she noticed the back door was ajar. Slipping outside, she noticed that there was a stable, and so she thought she’d investigate.

Hearing voices, a smile parted her lips. She was getting closer. Pushing open the door to the barn, she nearly bumped into a man with teary eyes.

“Oh!” she startled. “I’m sorry,” she said hesitantly. “I’m not sure I’m supposed to be here,” that last part she said mostly to herself, and took a step backwards.
