Aaron

“Really?” Bren looked up with wide eyes at Lily.

“Ah…thank you, but we couldn’t ask you to do that.”

“It’s no problem, really,” Lily insisted, smiling at Aaron. He bit his lip, brows furrowing.

The question still remained on wether or not he could trust these people…

They seemed genuine…Lily especially…

And she’d known his father as a child…

But…anyone could turn on them…

And he had to think of his brother.

Then again…he didn’t really know his way around this place…and without the others, he could use a bit of help.

He’d just…keep Bren close.

He looked at his brother, who was still jumping from foot to foot enthusiastically.

Well, as close as possible.

“Alright…if you’re sure.”

“We are,” One of the young men said, nodding.

Bren threw his hands in the air, letting out a loud whoop. Aaron smiled.

 

Fenrys

Fen stared at the white-blonde young man. He was signing…

Could he not hear?

Fenrys read the man’s hands as they spoke in a language foreign to most. He and his brothers had been taught sign at a young age by his father, for he’d once had a sister who used it to communicate by.

The man was smiling bright and Fenrys quickly looked away, knowing how it Felt to be a bit…different.

He knocked his knuckles against his wooden leg.

“Ah…well, thank you anyway,” Aria dipped her chin.

Fen looked away, nodding as well. He turned his eyes back to the blonde, smiling slightly. He put his hand to his chin, giving the customary ‘Thank you’ sign.

 

 

Caden

“That would be great!”

“Ah…” Lucien cocked a brow, placing a hand on Caden’s shoulder. “One second.” He pulled his brother aside, along with Puck. Whispering, he said, “You sure we can trust them?”

Caden shrugged, “I dunno…I mean…the kid they got with them is pretty cute. I can’t imagine them having that kid with them and being like, mass murderers or something.”

“Mm, that doesn’t really say much.” Puck said. “They could’ve stolen him, just saying!”

Lucien frowned, looking back. The kid was giggling in the man with the metal arm’s grasp.

“I don’t think so…”

“Come on…we don’t really have anywhere else to go right now.” Caden turned back to the threesome smiling.

Lucien followed, and Puck begrudgingly, arms crossed.

“Alright, sounds like a plan. We’ll go with ya,” Lucien smiled.

Rae

“Well, Dassie, whatcha think?”

Hadassah smiled sweetly, clasping her hands in front of her. Rae grabbed one of her arms, pulling her around in a circle playfully. The younger girl laughed, coming to a stop with her spinning.

“Guess the others got separated from us, huh? That or they left us…”

Hadassah pursed her lips, clutching the bottom of her top. She shook her head slightly.

“Yea…they wouldn’t do that.” Rae said, smiling. She held on tightly to her older sister’s arm, walking further down the hall they stood in. “We’ll probably find them further down…if they’re here.”

Hadassah frowned, shaking her head again.

“Yea! Right…I’m sure they’re here.” Rae released her sister, walking down the hall by herself. “Hey…do you hear that?”

Hadassah paused, listening.

“Sounds like someone’s coming…”

Lily

Bren threw his hands into the air, letting out a loud whoop. Aaron and Albert smiled, and Lily and Elias laughed.

Lily smiled. “Come on, then! Adventure awaits!”

(she’s still as energetic as ever! 🤣)

Eli

The man, Fenrys, put his hand to his chin, signing a ‘thank you’.

Eli smiled, nodded, and signed back, ‘You’re welcome. Glad we can help.’

Eli turned back to Jonathan, signing to his brother, ‘Shall we get going now?’

Jonathan nodded, turning his attention back to Aria and spoke, asking her if they were ready to go, or so Eli could guess by the way his lips moved.

(so…yea…Eli’s gotten really good at reading lips by this point. 😊)

Steve

“Alright, sounds like a plan. We’ll go with ya,” Lucien said with a smile, whilst Puck kept his arms crossed.

Steve smiled. “Good. We should probably get moving then, huh?”

 

Viola

Someone was up ahead.

Two someone’s, actually…judging by the sound of voices.

Both feminine.

Viola partially opened her satchel, making sure a few fingers were touching her pistol.

She had good reasons to be cautious.

Viola came around the corner and stopped.

Sure enough, there were two girls in the hallway.

Viola smiled. Nodded at them and gave them a small wave. “Hello there…I mean you no harm.”

Aaron

Aaron smiled. “Alright, well…I must thank you, for offering your help.” Aaron adjusted his cloak and satchel, readying himself.

Albert and Elias nodded, heading through the door they’d come through. Lily, Bren and Aaron followed.

“So, how did you get here?” Bren asked, making his way up to where the two young men were. Aaron made sure to keep an eye firmly fastened on him.

“Not sure exactly…just kinda…arrived.” Elias said.

“Us too!” Bren said. Elias chuckled. “So you’re brothers? Like Aaron and me?”

“Yup. I’m the younger one. Albert here is my older brother,” Elias grinned at the other young man.

“And I’m just along for the ride I suppose!” Lily sighed dramatically. Elias gave her a playful look.

“Yea right.”

Aaron took a glance at Albert. He was being rather quiet. Not that that was unusual…Aaron himself was being quiet.

Lily then turned to Aaron. “So then…you’re looking for your father?”

“Um…yes.” Aaron nodded, a bit wary. How much information should he give?

“Well, I hope you find him.”

“Th-Thanks…” Aaron looked away, gripping his satchel until his fingers were numb.

His father…

He could just see the ginger-haired man’s smiling face. His bright blue eyes. So similar to his brother’s.

The kind words and jovial laughter.

But the memories now…

They were all…tainted. With a melancholy feeling. A feeling of…

Sadness and…

Regret.

Aaron glanced at Bren.

He hadn’t told his brother the real truth of his father’s disappearance…

None of them had. Only he and Aria, and a few others knew…

Knew that he’d left. Not disappeared.

Left them with a note.

 

 

A. Note.

 

A note that…made absolutely no sense.

A note that left him and his sister with more questions then answers.

Though his mother seemed confident evermore in their father…Aaron couldn’t help but wonder if there wasn’t something…more he could’ve done.

To make him stay…

To do something…

Had something happened? To make him leave?

 

“Aaron? Ronnie!” Bren tugged on Aaron’s sleeve, pulling him from his thoughts.

“Huh?” Aaron jerked. “Oh…sorry Bren. What is it?”

“I’m thirsty.”

“Oh, here.” Aaron opened his satchel, pulling out a flask of water and giving his brother a drink. They didn’t have much left, but his brother was worth it.

“Thanks!”

Aaron smiled. “No problem Bren…” he shoved the flask back into his satchel. “None at all…”

Aria

Aria nodded. “Yes, thank you for agreeing to help us. We appreciate it.”

“It’s really no problem,” The woman, Isabel smiled.

“Still, it wouldn’t be right to take your help without gratitude.” Aria smiled. She turned to Fenrys who gave a side grin and the group continued on down the hallway, Fenrys taking up near the boys, and Aria beside Jonathan and Isabel.

Aria glanced at the young woman. “How much longer? If you don’t mind my being so forthcoming…”

Isabel looked at her curiously. Aria motioned at her own stomach. Isabel’s eyes gleamed, her face glowing, another sure sign that she would soon be a mother. Aria smiled, remembering when her mother was carrying Bren.

 

Caden

Caden grinned, taking up side next to Lucien and the man with the little boy. Bucky, he believed.

He couldn’t help it…the little boy reminded him a lot of his baby brother, Benji.

He made a face at the little boy, Ryo, making him laugh, and then began to start a game of patty cake with him.

Lucien chuckled, rolling his eyes. “You’re gonna make a great mom, Cade.”

Caden stuck his tongue out at his brother. “Oh hush, you’re just jealous.”

“Psh, jealous you get to babysit all the time? Oh…yes.”

Puck let out a sigh, hands in his pockets. “I’m not jealous of either of you.”

“No one asked,” Lucien pursed his lips, glaring.

Puck shrugged. “Just saying.”

 

 

Hadassah

Rae raised a brow at the woman who had seemingly come out of nowhere. Hadassah gripped her arm, taking a step back.

She wasn’t sure how she felt about this lady…

Something seemed…off…

“Hello there…I mean you no harm.” She said. “My name is Viola. And you are?”

Rae pursed her lips, hand on her hip. “Why should we tell you?”

Viola quirked her lips, brow cocked. “I suppose you don’t have a reason too…but I assure you, there’s no reason to be afraid of me. I’m all alone in here.”

Hadassah looked around.

She seemed to be telling the truth…But the way the lady’s eyes kept looking at them…Made her skin crawl…

“Still, give us one good reason.”

“Well…perhaps we can help each other.” Viola took a step forward. Hadassah gripped Rae tighter, eyes widening. “I’m trying to find…a friend. Maybe you’ve seen him.”

“Haven’t seen anyone. But…we’re looking for some others too…I guess it wouldn’t hurt to have some help. Whatcha think Dassie?” Rae glanced at her sister.

Hadassah frowned, releasing Rae and rubbing her arm. She shook her head slightly.

The woman tilted her head. “I promise…I mean no harm.”

“Well…I guess there’s not really any harm in telling our names. Besides, Come on Dassie.” Her sister raised a brow, leaning in and whispering, “We can take her if need be.”

Hadassah’s eyes widened, mouth opening slightly. She shook her head wildly, but Rae was already talking.

“Name’s Ebony Rae, but everyone just calls me Rae. This is my sister Hadassah. She doesn’t talk.”

Lila

“A bit dusty, don’t ya think?” Kiri ran her finger over one of the mantels in the room they were in.

“I think it’s rather beautiful…in a rustic way.” Lila smiled, sitting on a couch that still had red velvet cushions, though they could use a bit of refurbishing.

“Hm, to each their own I suppose,” Kiri shrugged.

A door to their left creaked open, making both girls turn. Lila stood quickly, eyes wide. She took a stepped toward Kiri, who stared intensely at the door as it opened.

Two figures emerged, boys around their ages, maybe a bit younger.

“Who are you? Are you the reason we’re here?”

The two boys blinked, faces flushing. They looked at each other before one of them spoke.

“U-Um…No…We don’t even know why we’re here, actually…um, I’m Asher. This is my best friend, Matthew.”

Lila glanced at Kiri, offering a small smile and nodding. She took a step forward, clasping her hands in front of her.

“Nice to meet you both. My name is Lila, and this is my cousin Kiri.” Kiri saluted with two fingers, putting one arm behind her back and winking. (She’s a bit of a flirt/just enjoys making boys blush) “We’re looking for our friends and siblings.”

So does ur villain have any interest/care for powers or anything? I’m just thinking for a reason for him to kidnap Bren or hold Bren hostage….

I know Bren has the elemental flame but he doesn’t like it because he can’t control it and it hurts people

Aww poor precious Bren!!

Well, he does have interest in anything that could hurt someone…so maybe?

I’m not sure how he would find out that Bren has said powers…but yeah, if he found out, that wouldn’t be good 😬 (or would be, depending on the characters or the authors XD)

So y’all are good with me putting him in?
