@jane-maree š Really? That’s cool. I didn’t know that, at all. So I’m guessing my story about replicating and selling people’s voices would fit into sci-fi, too? ;D *gaze lights up*
The ending! It was… really, really impressive and awesome. I think it almost turned ME into an Epic.
I’m hoping Skyward is kind of a thematic sequel to Reckoners, and that’s going to be sci-fi, too. Have you heard about Skyward? It’s going to about a girl, and her spaceship…plus aliens š

Also, Daeus has 22 turtles in his signature.January 12, 2018 at 11:44 pm #60083@Sam-Kowal hmm yes probably. It depends if it’s in a contemporary/dystopian/futuristic sort of setting.
SAME THOUGH. Agh. So epic.
Ooh yes yes that would be amazing. Have you read The Rithmatist?

January 13, 2018 at 11:37 am #60108@jane-maree š XD Okay. It’s set in the Kingdom Pen universe world right now, actually, like Legend of King Daeus and What Stan and I Did on Christmas….
I haven’t read the Rithmatist, yet, but I’m panting and drooling to. (I promise I’m not a dog though. I think.) One of my friends has a copy and is reading it… so I’m waiting for them to finish.
Have you read the Stormlight Archive, by the way? Those are completely different thematically from the Reckoners

Also, Daeus has 22 turtles in his signature.January 14, 2018 at 4:28 pm #60187@Sam-Kowal aw cool.
WELL PERFECT TIMING FOR THAT QUESTION. I actually just finished reading The Way of Kings a few days ago and I’m planning on starting Words of Radiance soon. I don’t normally read epic fantasy books so I was reluctant to try these ones but @Hope and my sisters ganged up and convinced me to give them a shot. And I’m absolutely loving it so far. <3

Sorry nothing comes to mind at the moment!Wow this thread makes me realize I haven’t read that many books! Ill have to write a bunch of these down! š they all sound really good.
and I was so confused
January 14, 2018 at 7:55 pm #60216@jane-maree *wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee*
The Stormlight Archive is my favorite series š
The Way of Kings completely wrapped me up in a highstorm when I first read it. The world of Roshar, with the highstorms and landscapes and animals and Shardblades and rechargable-battery gems felt like fantasy perfection. Plus Kal. Kal, and Shal, and Dal. š Wonderfulness.
Words of Radiance is amazing, too. All the stuff from Way of Kings intensifies by a hundred, it feels like. The backstory in it is pretty dark, which can make it feel heavy at times. But its also enthralling.
Then there’s Oathbringer. š I still haven’t completely come down from the height that was Oathbringer.

Kal, Shal, and Dal though. XD That cracked me up. Kal is definitely my favourite though. *hugs the precious bridgeboy* xP

January 15, 2018 at 8:55 pm #60337@jane-maree There’s not many characters I like more than Kal. š He’sĀ storming wonderful. That chapter in Way of Kings with Amaram and the Shards… *starts banging head onto table and clenching fists* …was rather moving.
XD It’s funny how they all rhyme like that. Their names could be a poem

January 16, 2018 at 9:41 pm #60439@jane-maree XD So am I. There’s some cool things later on that help to lessen the pain of it, too

January 17, 2018 at 11:38 am #60465@daughteroftheking š š XD I know that phase. Where you’re half still there, in the world of the book, gasping and flailing. Calamity is especially strong in that aspect. Where you can’t believe what just happened. The ending is like….*eyes wide with mouth open*
š The Reckoners was really an awesome series.
*spoilers for Calamity ahead for anyone scrolling through here*
@daughteroftheking @jane-maree There was one thing I couldn’t figure out at the end of Calamity. How did Mizzie end up with her powers? Do either of you know?*Giarstanornarak tries to melt chair*
Also, Daeus has 22 turtles in his signature.January 17, 2018 at 4:24 pm #60501@Daughteroftheking oh my word yes isn’t it awesome?? *throws confetti*
@Sam-Kowal…to be entirely honest I don’t even remember what Mizzy’s power was. O-OWriting Heroes ā¦ Writing Hope // janemareeauthor.com.au
January 18, 2018 at 11:48 pm #60677@jane-maree @sam-kowal Hmm… I don’t know how Mizzy got superpowers either. I’m pretty sure the book never says what they were. *scratches head contemplatively*
Fav characters anyone? Mine was Cody. I now understand that my computer works because of the wee fairies livin’ in it. xD

Ooh favourite characters? Hmm…Cody was pretty funny. Mizzy was good. Tia was pretty cool. David was also good (and his metaphors/similes are the most genius things ever XD)….I don’t know if I can pick.
