Bible Challenge

I’m in! Is anyone else going to do it today? Also, speaking of accountability, I’ve recently committed to spend 2 1/2 hours a day alone with God, reading the Bible, and I missed it yesterday. If anybody wants to help me stay accountable to that, I’d appreciate it. 🙂

@sarah-h I think that’s a great idea too. I sometimes don’t think I’d have enough time, but that’s because I fill it with other stuff. Like 2 1/2 hours on my laptop. How would I be able to help you?

@bluejay, how did you go yesterday? I don’t know how your Sundays are, but I was out most of the day and so not reading any fiction wasn’t really a challenge anyway. @sarah-h, I’ll do the Bible Challenge with you on Monday the 24th July to start with if you like. I like your idea of 2 1/2 hours of time with God! FABULOUS idea!!!! 🙂 I spend 1 hour from 4:30 – 5:30 am doing my devotion, praying, etc. Then I write for an 1 1/2 hours till 7 am. So maybe I should make my time with God 1 1/2 and my writing time 1?! I think I’ll do that. If you like, I’ll keep you accountable to your 2 1/2 hours and you can keep me accountable to my 1 1/2? What do you think?

@clairec I got 14 and 1/2 chapters read in Job. I was busy for most of the afternoon but I got lots of reading done in the evening.

That’s great, @bluejay! I read my 7 chapters of Matthew and 3 chapters of Genesis. We’ll have to do it again some time! 🙂

@ClaireC – I’m sorry I’m so late. Wait, do you live in Australia? I think I’m a day ahead of you, because when you asked me to do the 24th with you, here it was already the night of the 24th. I’m not sure how that works, but I’m going to do it tomorrow if you want to do it with me.
If you like, I’ll keep you accountable to your 2 1/2 hours and you can keep me accountable to my 1 1/2?
I think that’s a great idea! Just knowing that you are doing it too will help me a lot. I did a deplorable job today – I read 1 1/2 chapters in Ephesians and fell asleep – but I won’t let that happen again.

@sarah-h, I have been doing quite badly with my long devotions. I had to bring it down to 1 hour to fit it in, sadly. I’ll keep trying though!
