@bluejay, I’ve read Do Hard Things. We have Start Here, but I haven’t gotten around to it yet. I will, though! 🙂

September 21, 2016 at 5:54 am #17780@clairec Well worth it. It made me hold a fundraiser to raise money to help free slaves. (Zach Hunter’s story really inspired me) He has a book called Be the Change. That’s great too. 🙂

I’ve read I Kissed Dating Goodbye and Do Hard Things. There’ both good though make sure you don’t take I Kissed Dating Goodbye as a formula that will make everything work. A tool to help you make wise choices and explain them to you friends but not a formula. As we’ve seen recently on KP, there’s many ways people can get to being engaged/married.September 21, 2016 at 6:53 pm #17833@anna-brie, I agree. My sister is on Revive, a christian ‘Facebook’ that’s associated with the Rebelution (Alex and Brett Harris) and she said that a lot of people had taken ‘I Kissed Dating Goodbye’ too far, making it a formula and not having any room to learn and do things differently. 🙂

September 22, 2016 at 4:37 am #17917@clairec @anna-brie Thanks for the warning. Seems like things always go wrong when people try to make something into a formula. Speaking of different ways to get engaged, Haley mentioned in the video that her parents chose betrothal over courtship. Do you know what the difference is? I thought they were the same thing.
@bluejay You held a fundraiser to free slaves? How did you do it?September 22, 2016 at 4:46 am #17919@sarah-h, I have no idea what the difference is. It’s something I have a lot of questions about, though, as it’s probably the most important decision you make in your life. Should you date? Should you kiss anyone before your wedding ceremony? Oh, so many questions… I say no to both those things as a personal standard, by the way. 🙂

September 22, 2016 at 4:49 am #17920@clairec So do I. Say no that is. 🙂
@sarah-h We held a silent auction (people write their bids rather then call it out) (business donated items) and had money raising games played during the night. It was a heap of fun and we raised around $2,120.- This reply was modified 8 years, 1 month ago by BlueJay.

If you join you can tag her and she’ll say hi. 🙂

September 22, 2016 at 5:35 am #17932@clairec I’m pretty much exhausted. I can’t stay awake any longer. Good night! 🙂 See you tomorrow (although technically, it would be later today, since it’s tomorrow now. 🙂 ).
