            I have two more chapters!

            Chapter 15

Wanda stood in the middle of the giant training room just standing there. She was trying to get over today’s mission.

“That was a lot different than training,” Falon said coming up beside Wanda.

“Yeah it was,”  Wanda turned to see her. “You remind me of my brother.”

Falon knew that her brother had died in a battle against Ultron. “I’m sorry,”

“Don’t be,” Wanda smiled. “He could always convince me to do things even if I didn’t want to.”

“You saved our lives today, you should be proud.”

            “And if I had failed?”

“But you didn’t and that’s what matters” Falon looked Wanda in the eyes. “You have to stop torturing yourself, stop thinking about what could, and think about what did.”

“I just struggle with the fear of hurting someone, and when I was holding that bomb…”

“I know but don’t let fear control you.” Falon knew that Wanda would have to hear this over and over again before she finally believed it.

“Wanda, would you like to go on a walk with me?” Vision came into the room.

“Sure,” Wanda started to walk away but stopped to look at Falon. “Thank you, and I will try to do better in the future.”

“I know you will.” Falon smiled at Wanda.

After Wanda and Vision left, Falon looked around the room.

“You two get along well.” Falon turned to see Steve.

“Yeah I guess,” Steve must have heard the conversation between her and Wanda

“I was shocked by that trust-fall-move you and Sam did, I didn’t think you would trust him with your life.”

Falon turned to look at Steve “All my life I was treated like an object, a valuable object. Which meant that my life was usually safe because I was an experiment. A freak of nature, the girl who could survive anything, and until all their serums worked I was important. People’s lives were at stake and I was an important key to helping them, so I knew Sam wouldn’t let me fall. I can trust anyone with my life but it’s my heart that I’m careful with.”

“I’m sorry,” Steve gave her a hug.

“Thanks, I’m just not sure who I can trust.”

            “Well, you can trust me,”

Falon smiled. “I know,” Falon was thankful to have someone to talk to. “everyone thinks that I’m strong and invisible, but the truth is I only look strong. I can handle any pain and I can survive anything but it’s my heart that’s weak, and it’s been broken a few too many times.”

            “People can be terrible.”

“Not all people,” Falon said looking at Steve. Falon would have agreed with him a few months ago but now she had someone she could trust, someone she could depend on.

Gwen walked into the lab and saw Peter.

“Hey,” Gwen said walking in. “Can we talk?”

“Yeah,” Peter gestured for her to sit down.

Gwen sat down and tried to prepare for what she had to say.

“What’s wrong?” Peter could see a few tears going down Gwen’s face.

“I promised Tony I would tell you, but I’ve been putting it off. But after that mission, I realized that I can’t avoid it any longer.”

Peter looked at her giving his full attention.

“When I got my powers I didn’t keep them a secret, everyone knew about them. Including my… best friend.” Gwen wiped away her tears, but they kept coming down. “One day I was trying to stop some bank robbers and he showed up with a gun to help me, and at first we were winning, but then we both got pinned against a corner. And there was one bullet left in the gun and he used it to save me but he ended up… dying. I tried to save him….” By now Gwen couldn’t speak and her face showed pure guilt.

“Hey, it’s not your fault.” Peter put his arms around Gwen and tried to comfort her.

Gwen clutched Peter’s shirt as the tears continued. “I miss him so much and I hate myself so much.”

“It’s not your fault,” Peter gripped her tighter. “It’s not your fault.”

The words rang through Gwen’s head and she tried her best to believe it. But he was gone he would always be gone, and it was all her fault.

Tony banged his head against the wall a few times. Maybe if he had a concussion it would be easier to forgive Bucky. Forgiveness meant he didn’t blame Bucky or hate him. And that was hard for him to do.

“Hey,” Tony lifted his head from the wall to see Bucky.

“Hey,” Tony pretended like he wasn’t just banging his head against the wall. “I just want to say that uh… I forgive you, and I don’t hate you.”

Bucky raised an eyebrow. “That’s it? You tried to kill me!” Bucky wasn’t mad just confused.

“I guess you could say that I was mad at myself. Me and my Dad weren’t on the best of terms, and uh I guess I blame myself a little.”

            “I’m sorry I didn’t know,”

“It’s not your fault, I just needed something to target my anger at.” Tony brushed his hair back with his hand. “And I guess I owe you an apology. So sorry,” Tony gave Bucky a pat on the back and walked away.

“Thanks,” Bucky was thankful for Tony’s forgiveness but it was also unexpected, and a little hard to believe.

            Chapter 16

Falon looked at the motorcycle and then at Natasha. “Are you serious?”

“A kid gotta have a ride, right?” Natasha said with a grin.

            “This is amazing,”

“It needs a few upgrades, but you can handle that.”

            “Thanks,” Falon smiled at Natasha.

Falon walked around the bike examining it, she then started listing off all the things that needed to be changed.

“How do you know so much about this sort of stuff?”

“At the labs, I was allowed to work on their vehicles. It was the only time out of the lab or prison so I enjoyed it.” Falon said leaning down to examine the motor.

            “Those places sound pretty terrible.”

“Yeah, but it makes you stronger.”

“I know a little bit of what that’s like.” Natasha had been put in the Red Room at young age and had been trained to be an assassin. She spent her whole life as a weapon until she finally came here or more accurately she came to S.H.I.E.L.D.

“It’s nice to see you two getting along.” Natasha looked to see Mr. Ross walking into the room.

“Mr. Ross,” Natasha said in a not-very enthusiastic tone.

Falon got up from the bike to see a tall man walking over to her. The way he smiled at her, he clearly had a motive.

            “You must be Falon?”

“Yeah, that’s me,” Falon already wanted to punch the guy, but she contained herself.

“And you’re fifteen, you look even younger than I imagined.” He took a few steps closer to her. “You’re merely a child.”

            “I suppose,”

“What are you doing here?” Natasha said interrupting.

            “I’m here for the meeting.”

“What meeting?” Falon asked wondering what the Avengers could be doing with a man like this.

“The one in the agreement that I and Stark made. There will be a meeting after every mission.” Ross said with a manipulative smile.

“I didn’t know about that,” Natasha said with an annoyed look.

“That doesn’t matter, so let’s not waste time, and let’s get to the meeting.”

Ross walked off leaving Natasha and Falon in the room. “I don’t like him one bit,” Falon said looking at Natasha.

            “You wouldn’t be the first.”

All the Avengers had taken a seat in the room except Peter, Gwen, and Falon. When they reached the room Ross was waiting for them.

Falon started to enter the room but Ross stopped her. “I’m sorry but this meeting isn’t for you.”

            “Why not?!” Falon demanded.

“You’re too young, and honestly we prefer the person we’re talking about not to be present in the room.”

Falon looked at him and walked away. She would’ve stayed but she knew she would’ve just punched him.

Peter and Gwen started to enter but they too were stopped. “I’m sorry but this meeting isn’t for you either.”

“Are we being talked about?” Gwen asked defensively.

“No, but we think it would be best if you weren’t here.”

“Stop saying “we” I know it’s just you.” Gwen was starting to raise her tone.

“Watch your tone, young lady.” Ross snarled.

“We should go,” Peter said grabbing Gwen’s hand.

“Fine,” She and Peter headed off.

Ross watched and smiled to himself.

Gwen, Peter, and Falon were in the lab. Falon had brought her motorcycle in to work on, while Gwen and Peter worked on their suits. Falon got up to grab a wrench and looked at Peter and Gwen. Falon didn’t know them that well, but they had something in common, they were all rejected by Ross which wasn’t that heartbreaking, just annoying.

“What do you think they’re talking about?” Falon asked walking over and grabbing a wrench from off the counter.

Gwen and Peter looked at her. “You,” Gwen replied.

            “What about me?”

Peter shrugged. “I’m sure it’s nothing,” Peter had always been to the optimist in his and MJ’s relationship, and he and Gwen were no different.

“Yeah, I’m sure you’re right.” Falon didn’t believe that infact she was really nervous. But she didn’t know these two and she wasn’t going to open up to them.

“What are we doing here Ross?” Steve asked annoyed that three of the Avengers weren’t allowed to come to the meeting.

“You guys did well today, except for the fact that you put civilians’ lives in the hands of a Fifteen-year-old girl.”

Steve clutched his fists he didn’t like where this was going.

“The government is nervous that this isn’t a safe environment for a kid,” Ross said without any symphony.

Natasha looked at Steve, he and Falon had grown close. They couldn’t take her away.

“She is not just any kid, and she needs to learn how to use her powers,” Steve stated.

“Funny I don’t remember you saying that when Wanda’s powers killed people,” Ross said with a clever smile.

Everyone looked at Wanda. “Yes, but that’s when you were threatening to lock me up.” Wanda didn’t want Falon to leave either.

Vision grabbed Wanda’s hand under the table and squeezed it.

“I’m just saying that with some discussion Falon might end up in a different home.” Ross was acting like he was on their side but everyone saw through it.

“And all I’m saying is that you’re not taking her away. You can’t even begin to imagine all her problems, she won’t do good in a different home.” Steve said defensively.

Ross gave a sinister smile. “We’ll see about that, she may be made to do good in a different home.”

“I think this meeting is done,” Steve said looking at Ross.

“If that’s what you want,” Ross replied.

“Actually none of this is what I want,” Steve said getting up. He wanted so badly to punch him, but that would only be escalating the problem.

When they walked out Falon immediately walked over to Steve.

“So, what happened?” Falon asked looking at Steve.

            “Nothing,” Steve shrugged.

“Are you lying to me,” Falon couldn’t believe that it was nothing?

            “No, it’s nothing, okay?”

“Okay,” Falon knew there was more, but Steve clearly didn’t want to talk about it.

Love those chapters! Okay, waaaait, so which Ross are we talking about? Everett Ross or Thaddeus Ross? (I.e. mustache or no mustache XD) Cuz I think @hybridlore is talking about Everett Ross and I’d agree with her that he is the sweetest guy ever, while the other Ross is a jerk.

Haha, I know right? I think they might be father and son, but if not, then that was a silly choice on Marvel’s part. 😂

For my writing sprint I managed to get another chapter done and this one I brought in a bunch of characters so enjoy

                                Chapter 17

Falon walked into Wanda’s room, she was laying on her bed listening to music. Falon watched as Wanda juggled things in the air with her powers.

“Hey,” Falon said with a smile.

Wanda set the items down and stopped her music. “Hey,”

“You were at the meeting, what happened that Steve won’t tell me.”

“It’s probably not my place to discuss.”

                                Falon raised her eyebrow.

Wanda let out a sigh, “Ross thinks it would be better for you to go to a different home.”

Falon took a seat on Wanda’s bed. “When you say different place…”

“I got the feeling that he didn’t mean being put in the system,”

“He wants me in a lab,” Falon wasn’t shocked, she had seen the look in his eyes, but it did worry her.

“I’m sorry,” Wanda wrapped her arms around Falon.

Falon leaned in and let a few tears roll down her face. She can’t leave, she won’t leave.

Steve missed the target again, he had decided to target practice to calm down, but it was more stressful by how terrible he was.

“Kate, get you into archery?” Bucky said approaching Steve.

“No not really, I guess I was just bored.”

“You and I both know you’re more than just bored.”

“What do you want?” Steve said shooting off another arrow.

“We won’t let them take her,” Bucky said putting his hand on Steve’s shoulder.

“What can you do? What can any of us do?”

“I’m not sure but we’ll find something,”

“Thanks, Buck,” Steve gave Bucky a pat on the back.

“You care about Falon and I care about you which means I’m going to help you.” Bucky and Steve had been friends since they were little and throughout the years they had remained best friends.

“Bucky, if she goes to… well, you and I both know where Ross would send her. She will never be the same girl again. She’ll…”

“She won’t,” Bucky interrupted Steve’s panic.

“Wanda told me, I wish you would have.” Steve and Bucky both sighed and turned to see Falon.

                                “Falon,” Bucky nodded at her.

“Bucky,” Falon took a few steps closer.

“There are no changes yet, and there might never be.” Steve tried to assure Falon but truthfully he was also trying to assure himself.

“Okay good,” Falon turned to walk away but stopped. “Oh, and you’re right, if I get sent to another lab I will never be the same girl again. Even if it’s by the government.” Falon walked off.

Steve and Bucky shared a glance. “It’s going to be okay,” Bucky assured Steve.

“I hope so,” Steve said as his voice started to shake.

Gwen finished the repairs on her suit and smiled to herself.

“Finished,” Gwen said in a victorious tone.

“I was a minute behind you!” Peter said finishing his suit.

“Close only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades.” Gwen had never had a use for the expression until now.

“Very funny,” Peter smiled and then started to pace nervously. “Would you be… interested in going on a date… with me?”

“Uh…” Gwen hesitated, she loved Peter but her mind kept flashing back to that moment when the bomb exploded and where her best friend got shot. Finally, she looked at Peter and remembered how he had held her tight. “I would love to,”

                                Peter smiled. “Great,”

Gwen looked at Peter and smiled. “I can’t wait,”

                                “Neither can I,”

Everyone in the Avenger building felt the ground shake and a loud noise that seemed to fill the whole building. Everyone looked outside to see an orange ship landing. Steve smiled he knew who it was.

Falon followed behind Steve and Bucky to the grassy field where they had landed.

“Well if it isn’t Thor and Loki,” Steve said as the ramp came down from the ship.

Falon leaned over to Bucky, “Isn’t Loki the one who tried to take over the entire world?”

                                “Yup,”

“And now he’s with the guardians of the galaxy?”

                                “Yup,”

“Good to know,” Falon watched as several people came off the ship, including a tree and a raccoon.

“How is everyone?” Starlord came walking out of the ship.

“Pretty good,” Steve replied, by now all the Avengers had come out onto the lawn.

“Well, we brought one more person,” Starlord announced.

“Now that person I do know,” Falon said as she saw Captain Marvel coming out of the ship.

“Hi guys,” Carol said with a confident smile.

Falon had sat listening to everyone talk and by now she had realized that the original guardians of the galaxy weren’t very serious. Which she didn’t really like, she thought that the whole superhero thing shouldn’t be taken lightly. Falon looked across the table at someone she had never heard of. He looked to be about her age; he had short brown hair and an intriguing smile. When everyone got up to leave he and she went in the same direction.

“Hey,” The boy said with a smile.

“Hi,” Falon brushed a piece of hair out of her face. “I’m Falon,”

                                “I’m Logan,”

                                They both shared a smile.

                                  Chapter 18

Falon smiled at Logan, they had both taken a seat on a bench together. Falon currently had a lot to worry about, but Logan was cute and sweet and a good distraction.

“So how did you manage to join the heroes of the galaxy?” Falon looked at Logan nothing stood out about him, at least in a power sense.

“Uh…” Logan let out a chuckle. “I guess it’s just the road I took.”

“Funny I didn’t think there was a road that lead to that.”

Logan laughed, “I guess it depends on what road you take.”

Falon smiled. “So what’s your power?”

Logan looked around the empty gym and then at his hands. Falon watched in aw as long, medal claws came out of Logan’s hand.

Logan looked at her face and smiled. “Yeah, I know, weird.”

“You haven’t seen weird,” Falon lifted her arm sleeve and focused. Her veins started to turn reddish-orange and finally, her arm turned to fire.

                                  “Wow,”

Falon stopped it and pulled her sleeve back down. She couldn’t believe she showed this kid.

“So is it painful?” Falon asked looking at his knuckles that were pierced by his medal claws.

                                  “No, what about you?”

“It stings a little but no not really, but there is a risk of blowing up.”

                                  Logan gave a bewildered look.

“It’s fine, I have bigger things to worry about.”

Logan raised an eyebrow. “Like what?”

Falon thought for a second and then explained her issues and struggles.

Thor and Loki walked alongside Steve. It was weird for Steve to be right next to the man that once tried to get the world to bow down to him.

“So how hectic is it in the galaxy?” Steve said breaking the silence.

“There are a few incidents but mostly it’s pretty tame,” Thor replied.

“What my brother is trying to say is that it’s not as hectic as it seems to be down here,” Loki said with a grimace.

“Who is the teen boy you guys have? And how did Carol join you?”

“Carol found us on a mission and we also found Logan. He basically holds his own, but he’s more of a loner.” Thor stopped to look at Steve. “Who is this Falon girl?”

“Uh… she’s a new Avenger.” Steve didn’t feel like getting into the details. “How long are you guys staying?”

“How long will you guys have us?” Loki said looking at Steve.

“We have a bunch of spare rooms, so really as long as you would like.”

“Great,” Thor said with a chuckle.

Logan and Falon had continued their talking, and Falon had fallen even more in love with him than she was before.

“So you’ll be staying for a while?” Falon asked.

“Yeah I will be,” Logan said with a smile. “Speaking of which I better help unload.”

“Alright,” Falon leaned in and gave him a kiss on the cheek. “Bye,”

Bucky and Sam had been walking by the gym at the exact moment of the kiss.

Falon smiled at Logan as he blushed. “I’m going to… go now.”

“Bye,” Falon waved as Logan walked away.

“Hey,” Falon turned to see Sam and Bucky.

“I assumed you were upset about the whole Ross thing,” Bucky said looking at her.

                                  “And I am, why wouldn’t I be?”

“We just saw you kiss a boy,” Sam said clearly more upset about the kiss than anything else.

                                  “So?”

“So you acted like Natasha,” Bucky said. It was no mystery that Natasha was very good at flirting with guys, and Falon couldn’t deny that she had taken some inspiration from her.

“Why is this any of your business?”

“Because we live in the same house.”

“You’re right we live in a house that is the size of a town,” Falon said with a roll of her eyes. “Plus he actually helped me cope with the Ross thing, and truthfully I really like him.”

Sam and Bucky shared a look. “Still be careful,”

“Out of all the people here you don’t have to worry about me.” Falon started to walk away.

“Hey,” Clint walked out to the archery range to see Kate.

“Hey, what are you doing here?” Kate released the arrow and watched as it hit Bullseye.

“I heard we got company,” Clint said with a smile.

“Speaking of company,” Kate gestured to Carol who was walking over to them.

“Hey guys,” Carol said approaching. “Clint, I didn’t really get to say anything to you when I saw you last.”

“Yeah we were a little busy then,” Clint said with a smile.

“And you and I never meant,” Carol looked over at Kate.

“Yeah, I’m new.” Kate shook hands with Kate.

“It’s nice to meet you,” Carol said with a smile and then glanced at the targets. “And you’re a really good shot.”

                                  “Oh thanks,” Kate said modestly.

“Clint you missed the really fun meeting with Ross,” Kate said in a sarcastic tone.

“Yeah I’m really sad I missed it,” Clint said with a wink.

“So you’re the one who can destroy a ship by flying through it,” Kate said looking at Carol.

                                  “Yeah, I am,”

“Well, I fence, and uh I do archery…” Kate was clearly trying to compare herself to Carol.

Clint gave a chuckle. “I would tell you all I do but I don’t like to brag.”

Carol nodded in understanding and then smiled.

“Lier,” Kate mumbled under her breath.

“May I try?” Carol looked at Kate’s bow.

“Uh, sure.” Kate handed the bow to her.

Both Kate and Clint watched as the arrow hit the bullseye.

“You do archery too,” Kate said feeling shown up.

“Sometimes,” Carol said with a confident smile.

Kate and Clint glanced at each other, they both felt insecure about their skills.
