        @freedomwriter76 @keilah-h @euodia-vision

I have two more chapters for you guys.

A lot of talk between Steve and Nat but I also brought some closer between Steve and Peggy. (Also sorry about Nat I’ve been struggling to write her, and I’m still not sure I’ve captured her XD)

        Chapter 8

“We just ran five miles and somehow you managed to avoid all conversation!” Steve said looking over at Falon.

Falon put her hands on her hips and lowered her breathing. “I told you I didn’t want to talk.”

“No, you said you didn’t want to have another heart-to-heart. I assumed that we could still make small talk.”

“Well, we can’t,” Falon said walking off.

“How’s training a teen going?” Steve turned to see Tony who must have heard the whole conversation.

“How’s taking care of a pregnant wife?”

“Touche, but at least Pepper likes me,” Tony said in his usual sarcastic way. “I don’t think Falon likes you.”

“She likes me, she just doesn’t trust me.”

“Funny, you’re probably the most trustworthy person I know. So why doesn’t she trust you?”

“She was experimented on as a child, she finds it hard to trust anyone.”

        “So, same as Wanda?”

“Yeah, but she didn’t have a choice.”

“Well, you got a lot of work ahead of you.” Tony avoided eye contact and moved nervously. “We need to talk, is now a good time?”

Steve heard a door close from Falon. “Yeah, now’s a good time.”

“Look, when we were fighting Thanos we didn’t care about our differences. Wanda didn’t care about her powers. And you guys didn’t care about being criminals.” Tony made his tone more serious. “I’m starting to wonder if things were better when we were at war.”

“I know what you mean, but Tony no matter what I’m not working under the government.

Think about Gwen, Peter, and Falon. Do you want them to grow up being considered monsters? Because that’s what the government does, they did it to Wanda and the Hulk and to the rest of us.”

        Tony let out a sigh.

“You’re right, and I think we can come to an agreement that might keep the government off of us, and I’ll be the hero just like every other time.”

        “Really? You’ve certainly changed.”

“You only won because you cheated,” Steve and Tony turned to see Bucky and Sam catching their breath.

        “I didn’t cheat, you’re just slow.”

Tony took that as his moment to leave and walked over to his sports car. “Well I got to get home to Pepper, she sent twenty text messages. Oh, and tip Steve, don’t be so surprised when people agree with you.” Tony started up his engine. Right before he left he locked eyes on Bucky, and the thoughts filled his mind.

“Will do,” Steve said with a wave.

“Why don’t we go play cards so you can cheat then?” Sam said sarcastically.

“For the last time, I didn’t cheat!” Bucky said with a grimace.

“Hey, you two it doesn’t matter who cheated because me and Falon lapped you!” Steve said with a chuckle.

        “Oh, whatever,”

“Speaking of which, where is Falon?”

“She and I…a disagreement,” Steve said hesitantly.

“I don’t want to be rude but are you sure she’s worth all this?” Bucky asked, truly caring about his best friend.

“I’m sorry did I not chase after you while you were trying to kill me?”

        Bucky stood silently.

“Hey fellas,” Natasha interrupted in her more flirty tone. “Do you mind if I check something with Steve?”

“No of course not, we’ll go play cards,” Bucky smirked at Sam.

Sam replied by rolling his eyes but gave a wink to Natasha. They both started walking inside the building.

“You know you’re going to run out of things to check with me about?”

“I know, but until then I’ll keep saying that.”

“So what did you need to check with me about this time?”

“Just this,” Natasha gave a clever smile and then kissed Steve. “And about us, Steve do you ever see us together like marriage?”

“I don’t know, when I was younger I imagined settling down with a girl and having children. Then coming here I became focused on the mission at hand, but now I’m going back to that same dream.”

“And I can’t have children,” Natasha lowering her head.

“That’s not what I meant, and there are more ways to have kids.”

“Would you want to still be here?”

“Why not, Tony, Clint, and Scott are. Plus there are people here who need me.”

“You mean Falon?” Natasha gave a grin. “Did you and her have another fight?”

        “We had another confrontation.”

“How many fights are you going to have with her?”

“I’ll keep going intel I win.”

Natasha smiled, but then her smile faded. “Steve, I sometimes wonder…if I’m capable of the whole mother and wife thing.”

Steve shook his head refusing to hear any more of this. “Natasha you’re completely capable.”

“Am I? Because I see you, a man who is fully capable of a commitment, a man who can love a girl like me and a man who can love a teenage girl who pushes him away. And I’m still not sure I can do that after all I was raised by assassins and taught to be an assassin. And I never saw that parent thing up close so how am I supposed to know how to do that?”

Steve looked Natasha in the eyes and spoke in a serious tone. “There’s no doubt in my mind that you’ll be a great mother and wife. You’re the most stubborn and strong girl I know, so if you put your mind to it then you’ll succeed.”

Natasha wasn’t the kind of girl to dwell on a subject for too long, and she was ready to change the subject. “What are you going to do about Falon?”

Steve had heard this question way too many times, but his answer remained the same.

“I’m going to be right here for her, and when she does open up I’m going to be with her, and that’s the same for you. Because when I deeply care about someone I never leave them.”

The words hit Natasha hard and made her feel loved and cared for, which is something she didn’t feel a lot.

        Chapter 9

“Nat, what brought all these questions on?” Steve asked curiously.

Natasha hesitated, “Do you remember when we stole that car?”

        “You mean borrowed.” Steve corrected.

Natasha smiled. “I asked you a lot of serious questions. Well, this was just me asking questions to find out how committed you are.”

Commitment had always scared Natasha, and her relationship with Steve was no different.

Natasha watched from the window as a few tears ran down her face. She never cried, never, but she couldn’t stop them. She could feel her heart breaking piece by piece. Steve was getting ready for his quantum trip to return the stones.

“Nat,” Sam stood in her bedroom’s opening. “What are you doing?”

Natasha brought her hand up to close the curtain and also wiped away her tears. She took a few steps towards her bed where Sam was now sitting. “Sitting,”

Sam didn’t even smile, “I mean about your life. You and I both know what Steve is going to do. They knew what he was going to do when they chose him, and that’s why they chose him. But Nat you know you love him, and I won’t watch you sit by and let him get away!”

“So you want me to take his second chance away?” Natasha said with a hint of sadness in her voice.

“You and I both know that you’re his second chance.”

“Look I’m not going to ruin it for them.”

“No, don’t play this off as you being selfless, you’re just scared. You’re known as the girl who can survive anything, but emotionally you’re weak and you’re scared of having a broken heart. I’ve seen you flirt with guy after guy and you even fell in love with Bruce, all so you could avoid a committed relationship.”

        Natasha sighed.

“Is that really it?” Steve said raising an eyebrow.

“Don’t believe me?” Natasha said cleverly.

“I’m not sure,” Steve glanced at his phone it was Nick. “But uh…I have to go now.”

Steve and Natasha shared a kiss. Natasha watched as Steve left for his car.

Natasha ran onto the platform and glanced around. Bucky looked shocked, Sam pretended to be surprised but he clearly wasn’t, and Bruce, who was running the computer, also looked confused. She felt a little bad, but she and Bruce were never going to end up together.

“Nat, what are you doing?” Steve asked looking at her.

“We should talk somewhere privately.” Natasha gestured him off the stage.

“You know I’m kind of in the middle of something, can it wait?”

“No, it can’t, in fact, it waited too long,” Natasha spoke in a whisper so others couldn’t hear her.

When they were a few yards away, Natasha looked up at Steve brushing away her red hair.

“Steve I know you’re going to go be with Peggy, but you need to know that I love you.” The words didn’t even sound like Natasha’s but they were.

The words hit Steve like a pound of bricks. “Nat, I don’t know what to say.”

“Just say you’ll think about us before you make the choice, and know that if you go with her I won’t hate you and I’ll still be your friend.”

Natasha kissed Steve on the cheek and walked away.

Steve gripped the steering wheel, as the thoughts filled his mind. Why did Natasha need to know about the commitment of their relationship? Did she want him to propose? Which led to the question of if he would. Steve was reminded of the last few sentences he and Peggy shared when he time-traveled back to her. He had been committed to her for so long, but yet it didn’t work out.

“Steve!” Peggy yelled rushing into his arms.

Had this day really come, was Rogers really holding her in his arms?

When the hug finished, Peggy looked at Steve and her expression changed. “You’re not my Steve. Who are you?”

“Would you believe me if I told you?”

“Depends,” Peggy said raising an eyebrow.

“I‘m from the future and I time-traveled back.”

        “You’re not lying are you?”

        “No,”

Peggy looked at Steve again. “You’ve changed.”

        “Is that a bad thing?”

“Changes are never good or bad they just are.” Peggy’s statement reminded Steve how smart she was. “But I do know that it makes it easier for me to tell you that I found someone while you were away. Because I can tell that you have someone too.”

        “Am I that readable?”

“You are to the people who know you,” Peggy said with a smile. “What is she like?”

        “So much different than you.”

“That doesn’t shock me, after all, you’re different.”

“Yeah I guess I am, but what about us?”

“Steve the man I fell in love with went into the ice two years ago. If you were the same as then, then I would marry you in a heartbeat, but you’re not.” A few tears slid down Peggy’s face. “And that’s ok,”

Steve gave a smile. “I guess we’ve both changed.”

“I will always love the Steve that went into the ice, but things are different now.” Peggy dried her tears. “Can you give me a hint on what the future will look like?”

“I’ll give you one word,” Steve grinned. “Avengers,”

“Well, I wonder what that could mean.”

        “You’ll live to find out.”

“You mean I’ll meet you again?”

“Yeah, we will, in fact, I help carry your casket.”

“Why how noble of you,” Peggy said in a witty tone then she looked more serious. “You should go now.”

“Alright,” Steve and Peggy embraced in a hug, when the hug finished Steve got ready to leave. But right before his departure, he looked at Peggy. “I will always love the girl that shot at me.”

Peggy’s lips quivered as Steve disappeared. Peggy blew him a kiss and turned to leave, letting the tears flow.

Steve would always love Peggy, but Natasha was his one true love.

Also, I need to pick a character for Falon to open her heart to.

Because it can’t be Steve because she’ll go to him after she talks to ___

            So who should it be?

And ooohhhh, i feel like Falon would open up to either Bucky or Natasha, honestly…they’d probably understand her the most, or, OH, Gwen, that would possibly work too, or Kate…honestly, whoever you want!!! 😁

                @freedomwriter76

Thanks!! I’ll probably do a flashback chapter for Gwen soon

Also not sure if you noticed but I hinted at some drama between Bucky and Tony (because the whole killing his parents thing never really got resolved)

So I was originally thinking Bucky, Sam, or Nat for Falon but now I’m thinking Wanda (Also her problem is she fears her powers like she did in Civil War)

I have another two chapters yay!!!

                          Chapter 10

Falon let the tears slide down her face. She had overheard Steve talking outside to Tony, then Bucky and Sam, and Finally Natasha. The way he spoke about her was different than any other person, but that didn’t mean she could trust him. She was sick of gambling her emotions on a person just to have them break her heart. She had been hurt so many times to the point that it hurt just to think about it.

Falon had been making her way down the halls, but she stopped when hearing tv on in one of them. She had assumed that this one belonged to Wanda, who she didn’t know that well. She opened the door to find Wanda playing a video on repeat, as her face filled with guilt.

                          “Wanda, what are you watching?”

                          “It’s nothing,”

Falon watch the video more closely, it was a building blowing up basically, but now that she was paying more attention she noticed that Wanda was the one that did it.

                          “Did you do that?”

“On accident but what does that matter, when seventeen people die does the reason really matter?”

“Why are you watching this? You’re just torturing yourself.” Falon said taking a seat on the bed.

“Don’t I deserve to be tortured for killing those men?”

“No, you don’t because it was an accident, and whether you care or not, it does matter.”

“And what about you?” Wanda said in her Sokovian accent. “Aren’t you hurting yourself when you push Steve away?”

                          “That’s different.”

                          “How?”

                          “Because just because.”

“I think you’ve been hurt by people who claimed to care about you, and now you won’t risk it. You think it’s easier for you to push someone away than to have another shattered heart.”

Wanda’s description of her had been completely accurate. Falon had a few more tears going down her face. “You’re right,”

“I’m sorry, it’s hard when you have no one you can trust.”

“Why does it feel like the nicest people are the worst people?” Falon asked wiping away her tears, but it was useless because they kept coming down.

“Because you never get betrayed by your enemies,” Wanda said remembering the pain she had gone through.

Wanda and Falon smiled at each other. They had both experienced so much pain and guilt, but they both wanted love and hope.

“I guess we’re both scared, for different reasons of course. But Wanda what happened wasn’t your fault. You can’t let the fear of what could happen stop you from having anything happen.”

“And you can’t treat every person like they’re the same”

Wanda looked up to see Vision. Both Wanda and Falon gasped.

“Vision how many times must I tell you that you can’t float through walls?”

“I’m sorry but I wanted to make sure you’re okay, after all, you’ve spent every day in your room.”

“Hey, Vision,” Falon said with a nod.

“Hello Falon, and I would agree with Wanda, you should give Steve a chance.”

“Why don’t I go do that now, I think that’s him pulling in.” Falon gave a smile to Wanda.

“I also agree with Falon. Don’t let your guilt and fear control you.” Vision said when Falon left the room.

“Maybe something should control me,” Wanda said in a shaky voice.

“Wanda only you can control you, and there’s no doubt in my mind that you will.”

                          “I should be locked up,”

“We tried that, remember?” Wanda smiled. “Wanda you didn’t make that bomb, you were trying to save Steve. Accidents happen, but you’ve learned so much since then.”

                          “Thank you,’’

Vision grabbed Wanda’s hand, and held it tight.

Falon wasn’t very quick to trust and in her mind, the people who cared were usually the ones who didn’t care at all. Falon hadn’t been sure about talking to Steve so she was hiding out in the gym.

She continued to kick the punching bag over and over again. The thoughts filled her mind and she kept remembering the past. She kicked harder until the bag went flying to the other end of the room. Tears flowed down her face and brought her to the ground in pain. She had been so hurt and had experienced so much heartbreak to the point she couldn’t move. Sometimes she wondered what it would be like to have her parents and to be a perfectly normal child, but that chance had been left with her parents’ death.

She had so many problems and traumas that left her feeling weak and broken. And every tear she shed seemed to point to her hurt.

“Falon,” Falon wasn’t shocked to look up and see Steve.

Falon pulled herself together and wiped away her tears.

“I’m sorry,” Falon said in a shaky voice.

                          “About what?”

“Not trusting you, but my trust had been abused in the past.” Steve took a seat next to her and looked at her. “I said I spent my whole life in a prison but I never said it was the same prison. It was like some weird system of being passed around lab after lab. In a few of them, people would try to get close to me,” Falon’s voice started to shake. “And I… let them and they used me.”

                          “I’m sorry I didn’t know, I didn’t know a lot of things.”

“It’s okay, I just am now really careful about who I trust. People have to earn it.”

                          “Have I earned it?”

                          “Yes,”

Steve looked at her and smiled. He knew she would finally come around.

Steve and Falon embraced in a hug. “So is this heart-to-heart real?”

“It is as long as you stay,”

                          “Then that’s forever,”

Falon smiled, “By the way you and Natasha make a sweet couple.”

Steve looked at her and smiled. “How did you find out?”

“I hear every conversation, and besides everyone knows.”

                          “When you say, everyone…”

                          “Even Bruce,”

“Good to know,” Steve chuckled and held her in the hug even tighter.

Falon had been so wrong about Steve, he was different, and he actually cared about her. Which was something she had never had.

                          Chapter 11

Gwen worked at her desk. She watched Peter hang out with Morgan. It was sweet, and it made her smile. Gwen had started having feelings for Peter, but with feelings come pain and tears. No matter how much she tried, she couldn’t forget that moment when she lost everything.

“Get up!” Gwen screamed into her best friend’s face. He had just sacrificed his life for her’s and he was now lying on the concrete alley. “Please get up!”

“Gwen,” He reached his hand up and pushed the hair out of her face.

“You can’t die, I can’t go without you!” Gwen’s eyes were filled with tears. Was she really going to lose him? “Get up,” Gwen’s sob wasn’t a pretty sob it was full of pain and was filled with screams of hurt.

“You’ll make it, you’re Spiderwoman you always make it.”  He struggled to speak.

“Help!” Gwen yelled louder, but no one came. She looked down at him, he was there in her arms. She watched and cried as his face went pale. “Nooooo! Please no!” She screeched.

And in that one moment, Gwen had lost everything.

“Gwen,” Peter had interrupted her sad thoughts. “Are you there?”

                          “What? Uh… yeah I’m here.”

“Is something wrong?” Peter asked with concern in his voice.

“No, but Peter I have to… tell you something.”

Peter took a seat and looked at her.

“I um,” Gwen looked around the room. “The suit is finished.”

Peter looked a little disappointed but he shook it off. “Uh right,” Peter got up and started messing with the computers. “Is there anything else?”

“No,” Gwen had been short with him but she was that way when she was hurt.

Gwen looked around the church, people were sobbing and crying. Her best friend’s mom looked like she was being stabbed. Her pain and hurt were clear and her sobs were loud and misery filled. Gwen knew everyone was staring at her, she also knew they all blamed her. Most of the family members had refused to see her and others thought about banning her from coming.

She walked by the images pinned to the boards. Most of them had her in them, they had been friends for fifteen years. She stopped in front of one image, he had convinced her to hang upside down because it would look cool, and it did. She had never kept her powers secret, but now she wished she had.

“Hi,” Gwen looked down to see a little boy tugging at her dress to get her attention.

Gwen knelt down to match his eye level. “Hi,” The boy looked about six or seven.

                          “Are you Gwen?”

“Yes, I am.” Gwen wiped away a few small tears in her eyes.

“Is it true that you took my cousin away?”

Gwen almost collapsed to the ground. She hadn’t expected that question and a terrible weight came over her.

Gwen hesitated and finally spoke in a weak voice. “Yes,”

                          “I don’t like you.”

                          “I don’t like me either.”

Gwen got up and ran into the girls’ bathroom and cried there for the rest of the service.

“Gwen?” Morgan was holding out a drawing to show Gwen.

“Hi,” Gwen looked at the image. “Wow, I love it.”

“You can keep it,” Morgan said as her smile grew bigger.

“Thank you,” Gwen put a smile on her face, but deep down inside she was breaking.

“Are you okay?” Peter wasn’t convinced that Gwen was truly okay.

“Yeah, I’m just having an off day.” Gwen gave Morgan a hug for the drawing and then looked back at Peter. “I’m going to go lay down.”

Peter gave her a smile. “Okay,”

Gwen’s world had become dark and depressing. Her dorm seemed more gray and the sun didn’t seem to shine as much. Every now and then someone would reach out to her, but she usually declined.

Gwen opened the door to her office and found Tony Stark sitting at her desk. Gwen let out a shriek. “What are you doing here?”

“Well, it’s nice to meet you too.” Tony got up from the chair and walked over to her. “Not many people can hang from walls, but the ones who can I help.”

                          “You mean the Avengers?”

                          “Would you be interested?”

“Maybe,” Gwen shrugged, maybe a change of pace would help. “How did you find out about me? I don’t do that very often.”

“It’s not that hard, and why did you stop?”

                          “I didn’t stop, I’m just taking a break.”

“Well here’s a chance to get back into it.”

Gwen hesitated and finally replied. “Okay,”

Tony stepped to her desk and adjusted a photo of her best friend. “I’ve lost people too.” Tony put his hand on her shoulder.

“Was it your fault?” Gwen looked at him.

“No, and it wasn’t yours either.”

                          “I doubt that, but thanks.”

Gwen walked into her room and put her head on her pillow. She sobbed, loud pitiful cries. She missed him so much and the guilt of his death was too much. She needed him and she needed hope again. Couldn’t the world see that?! She let the tears fall onto her pillow and closed her eyes. She didn’t sleep just wept for hours.
