Lol I get that. It’s like nobody wants to be that one kid who’s too innocent 😂 idk if that’s what it was, but growing up I was always not wanting to speak up because I thought it’d make it look like I “Couldn’t handle it” or was being to perfect. or maybe I just didn’t want to be the party pooper. 🤣

I haven’t been writing since I was that young, but I probably started when I was, oh…7 or 8? It’s been a while…but I’ve only taken it seriously the past 3-4 years or so. XD And I’ve only really drastically improved the past year, so…yea…xD

I pulled out some more old writing. This is 11-year-old me trying to write a romance, by the way. 😝😍
In this scene, Irene was just met one of her suitors, Nicholas. He escorts her to her rooms.
When we arrived at my door, he said, “Well, here thou art, Lady. I shall see the sometime in the near future.” He seized my hand and kissed it, and before I could say anything, he was gone.
I stood still for a moment, and then I opened my door. I shoved my hand behind my bookshelf and grabbed my mother’s cake recipe.
It’s so bad, lol!😂 Later, after she makes the cake for her dad:
“Last night we were served your mother’ cake,” said the king.
“I’m sorry, your majesty,” I said. “I thought you would enjoy it.”
My father’s voice was softer than it had ever been before. “Did you make it?”
I nodded.
“You may go, Irene.”
It doesn’t even make sense!

So here is one of the first things I wrote. It’s called “The Adventure #2.” I don’t know what happened to “The Adventure #1” but it did exist. It was about my stuffed animals coming alive and going under my bed to see what was there. I had so many stuffed animals, LOL. And this story assumes that you know who they are, so brief explanation . . .
Pink was my Build-a-Bear (she was pink)
Lepi is a leopard (actually a jaguar, but I thought it was a leopard when I named it)
Buffie is a buffalo
Tina is a wolf
Smiley is a purple pillow that has a smiley face on it
I was like eight or nine when I wrote this, so please be forgiving! 🤣
A few months after the under-bed adventure, it was raining. Everyone was bored. Arien had gotten another animal to add to the bed. Tina was a timber wolf. She had been gotten when Arien went camping. Smiley had been brought from under the bed as well. Pink called a council of bed animals.
“Are we all here?” she asked. “Buffie?”
“Here,” Buffie said. He jumped up and buffed. [That was a logical thing for a buffalo to do, right??]
“This is a council!” Pink exclaimed. “Lepi?” she continued.
“Here,” Lepi replied.
“Tina? Smiley?”
“Here!” yipped Tina.
Smiley smiled. “You already know I’m here, Pink,” said Smiley. “Why do you have to ask?”
“This is a council,” Pink said. “Well, since everyone’s here, we should begin. Anyone have an idea for something to do?”
“Let’s buff!” said Buffie.
“No!!” said Pink.
“Leaping is fun!” said Lepi, showing off her new double-twist high leap.
“No!!” said Pink.
Smiley just smiled.
“What will we do?” asked Tina. “All you say is ‘No!!’ We’re all bored!”
“Well,” said Pink, “Lepi can show off her best jumps and Buffie can show his nicest buffs. I will be queen and borrow Arien’s shiny blanket for a robe. The rest of you can be…”
“Servants?!” Tina yipped. “The ‘rest of us’ is only me and you are always queen!”
“You’re mean!” Lepi cut in. “Tina is right. She’s only been here two weeks and she knows what you will do!”
“’Sides,” said Buffie, “perhaps Lepi and I don’t want to perform.”
“And I’m always the target and safety pad,” said Smiley.
Pink sighed. “I give up,” she said. “But what will we do?”
“Umm,” said Tina. “We could have another Adventure. You’ve told me the story very often. I’d love to have one!”
“Where shall we go, and what will we do there?” Lepi questioned. “I’d love another adventure, Tina, and it’s a good idea.”
“Let’s go under Erica’s bed,” suggested Buffie.
“I’ll stay here for now,” said Smiley. “Tell me stories when you get back!”
“Let’s go!” said Pink, who never waited to do something that might be slightly exciting.
So they climbed down the bed and ventured gingerly to the other bed.
“What if something lives under the bed?” Pink said.
“Why, I’d buff it and you would be very safe,” Buffie replied. He bowed and then buffed her. Tina pulled Pink up again and pulled her under the bed. The friends climbed over piles of lost socks, tissues in crushed boxes, books, keys for diaries, and pieces of paper, all stuck with little gems. They found boxes and bins, and met a blue smiley-face whose sister was Smiley, who lived on the other bed! Buffie buffed on everything, and Lepi leapt on everything. They climbed back under the dust ruffle and stood there, blinking in the sunlight.
“It stopped raining!” Tina yipped happily.
Wow that’s embarrassing, why did I share this?? 🤣🤣

A buffalo buffing really does seem like something a kid would come up with. And tbh the dialogue was really good for 8 or 9 years old. I don’t even know if I knew what a council was at 8 🤣
