So your book came yesterday and I FINISHED THE WHOLE THING!!!! COVER TO COVER! I think I’m the first one on here to finish it, lol.
I LOVED it! Riker by far is my favorite! I also really liked his little friend (Jyzek, right?)
I don’t want to give anything away so I won’t say much more. I will say that I kinda lost my temper with Leon though. lol.
Since there is always somewhere to improve and because I am into being brutally honest, I will say there were two things I noticed. One, the formatting was a little rough, but it was readable, and I got into the story enough that I started to ignore it. I don’t know if that’s on your end or Amazon’s, so I’ll just blame Amazon.
The other thing would be there were a couple slightly confusing things in the last few chapters, especially one scene that I won’t mention because of spoilers. It was not a big deal though!
Other then that, it was awesome! The story was amazing, and characters are well balanced, the plot is good, and I am more then excited to read the next one! Also, I LOVE ww2, and there is only one other book that I have read that does not have a trashy romance and is set in that era. I have thrown out more ww2 books then you would like to know because things started getting inappropriate, and the other ones just have some cheesy love/crush/no-one-is-serious-but-we’re-going-to-kiss-a-lot stuff. So this was such a refreshing book. I could dive right into a ww2 book and get completely lost in the story without having to watch out for some nasty scene that might jump out at me! It was wonderful! Man, I just LOOOOOOOOOOOVVVVVVVEEEEEEE Riker! He’s amazing!

Adelheid, Riker’s sister, FIN!!!! OH MY GOODNESS I FORGOT ABOUT HIM! I cried on a couple of the Fin scenes. i won’t say which, but I’m sure you know! Oh man he was so good! He is one of my very, very favorite!!! Right next to Riker. Love him!
Riker’s littlest, (Eli right) Yusef, Isaiah, (though he’s not one of my very favorites.) And Iris.
I did NOT like Hans, Franz, Felix, Aaron, or Erich. I think I disliked Felix more then Hans, actually. Idkw, maybe because he was the meanest to Fin. (I’m tearing up just thinking about Fin)
Yes, Hans was a great villain, and I have no pity for him. At all. Okay, I kinda do, but I don’t like him one bit. I can pity something while most certainly not liking it.
Man, some of those scene that you described I could see perfectly. Other times the scene was a little foggy, but that didn’t happen too often.
I’m going to the Chat Chat to find those boards now that I’ve read the book!!!!

Ever read Unbroken by Laura Hillenbrand? True story. Excellent book. It is a MUST read! Best WW2 I’ve ever read!

Also, got four more chapters to go! I know I said I’d finish my current read before I started but I JUST COULDN’T WAIT!!!!
I even stayed up until like a lot later than I should have reading. I have no idea when I actually finally stopped. Then I woke up early to continue. Only done that with the Hobbit the Lord of the Rings trilogy, Unbroken, Starship Troopers and Blades of Acktar that I can remember!

Ehh, they’re not really supposed to be very likeable characters anyhow😂😂 Aaron/Franz both play bigger roles in the 2nd book (👀), and I do see what you mean about Felix. (awwwww. *offers tissues* don’t worry. Chapter 25 makes me cry every single time I read it, and I’m the writer😭)
and I think I may know what Fin scenes you’re talking about (esp one of them)
I understand your feelings about Hans entirely. So glad to hear he made a great villain tho. I was hoping he would fit perfectly with the story 😁

OH, and I have to know…how did you feel about the character struggles/changes in both Leon and Riker? Did you like how much internal conflict there was? How did you feel/what did you think about the external conflict between Riker and Leon?
