Awards Ceremony
Thank you to all who participated in the Great Word Winding Tournament! And, even if you didn’t write a poem about bandicoots, I still enjoyed reading your replies. So, now for the reward!
The Winner of the Great Word Winding Tournament is *Drum Roll*
*Drum Roll Continues*
*And goes on and on while I frantically search my pockets for that envelope*
(By the way, may I have permission to put your poem on ⚔ The Great Word Winding Tournament ⚔ forum post?)
And the winner of our second random reward goes to! *Drum Roll*
Oddly enough, Excel decided @felicity again!
(So Felicity, you should be receiving an email from Amazon with a $10 gift card. Please let me know if it actually works.)
This concludes the Great Word Winding Tournament!

I am greatly honored, Black Mongoose. Thank you for holding this tournament!
Yes you can put the poem on here!
Dzienkuje, Merci and Danke.
He must increase, but I must decrease.
February 6, 2023 at 3:34 pm #131877Sadly I have had little to no time to think up a poem and even less inspiration. But I repeat the sentiments of @lewilliams above ⬆️ that I would be excited about a contest like this if you happen to be hosting another in the future. 😁

Written by Felicity
The dust-swamped desert drifts
As far as beady eyes can gaze.
With twisting tail, tall twitching toes,
Upon the slump of sand it stays.
The sun of amber-brown
On coarse combed coat reflects its shade.
The breath that beats beneath the breast
By bane and beast will be betrayed.
True tragedy- its life,
Flummoxed by foe, wind and woe;
No more upon the desert plains
Of rippled sand banks will it glow.
You will love what you spend time with.
February 9, 2023 at 10:44 am #132359Sorry, I wanted to participate, but I just didn’t seem to have the time or energy. I might still write a poem later, just because I really love the prompt. If you host maybe another tournament in the summer or some other time, I would still be interested (even without a prize).
That was really fun to read! Lots of alliteration, which is awesome, and I really like the kinda melancholy ending.
