Welcome to the Great Word Winding Tournament*! Today me, myself, and I will be holding a contest! If you deign to exert the brain strain, then you my gentle (or ferocious and fierce) reader mayhaps might win a $5 Amazon gift card!** (Ya, I know, “Big” incentive. 🙄😋) Below are the rules for the contest.
- Did I state that you will be writing a poem? No? Well, you will be writing a poem.
- This poem must be about the pig-footed bandicoot (If you don’t know what I am talking about, woe is you.)
- The poem needs to be a minimum of 10 lines long and a maximum of 30 lines long.
- You must use 3 of the following words in your poem. Bane, Tragedy, Pyromaniac, Snoutfair, Cattywampus, Flummoxed.
- Me, myself, and I will scour and scrutinize the sonnets, (It doesn’t have to be a sonnet! I just like alliteration. . . hint, hint.) and the poem I like the most I will reward the reward to its writer.
So, who will be first? @loopylin ?
* Contest ends Feb. 5, 2023 at 11:59 pm CST
** This will depend on if I can actually figure out how to send an Amazon gift card to an email address. . . and if the competition is not banned under KP policies.
You will love what you spend time with.
January 27, 2023 at 10:49 am #130306Well, my friend, I will be entering this little contest about marsupials.
January 27, 2023 at 1:33 pm #130315This looks awesome, but I haven’t written poetry in years… I’ll try my best, though!

January 30, 2023 at 1:14 pm #130673@power While I’m not a poem person, I looked up the pig-footed bandicoot and they are interesting animals! They’re extinct, though, sadly.

And guess what? His is eternal (:January 30, 2023 at 3:36 pm #130716I will join! My poetry is usually sweet and whimsical, so trying to bend it into a piece about bandicoots will be interesting.
He must increase, but I must decrease.
January 30, 2023 at 4:34 pm #130750Sounds really interesting!!
But I don’t think I can join. I’ve got lots of school to do and writing as well.
I’ll be looking forward to seeing who wins!!

I don’t enjoy poetry and I’m not good at it so I won’t be doing this however if there’s ever a short story contest/tournament, I’ll enter that. 😉
January 31, 2023 at 6:41 pm #130932@power This is honestly the best contest I’ve ever seen in all my years on the internet. And I’m OLD. (If inspiration strikes me, I shall try my very best to participate.)

Nibs are nipping, scratching, dripping
Faster than an adder
Words, picking, hairsplitting, witting
letters skitter scatter
* The winner of this drawing will be announced when the winning poem is announced.

February 1, 2023 at 7:42 am #130984Well well! This sounds very exciting.
What with my schedule I’ll see if I can get to writing.
Alas I have many woes upon me
For I know not much of the great bandicoot
But I shall try to research enough for some poetry
Well ta ta for now. The game is afoot!

February 5, 2023 at 5:00 pm #131781Happy weekend! I hope that y’all who had church today had an awesome time!
Just a quick reminder, there are only 6 hours left in the Great Word Winding Tournament. I have had uno submission (Thank you @felicity !), so if nobody else sends anything in, I suppose I already know who wins 😋.
Hope y’all have a great rest of your day!
You will love what you spend time with.
February 5, 2023 at 5:18 pm #131784@loopylin @folith-feolin @elanor and @lewilliams (If perhaps inspiration has indeed struck its blow . . . but hopefully it wasn’t too hard upon the pate.) Also, I believe one of our newcomers mentioned that they wrote poetry (Severed rose heads? 😋) @soleilnaia
You will love what you spend time with.
February 5, 2023 at 9:39 pm #131818@power Unfortunately I’ve been sick this week, so all inspiration was absolutely banished. *weeps* I shall always remember this glorious contest though! Please tag me if you ever host another!
