@Christi-Eaton How’s your production of Les Mis going? I can’t remember exactly when you said you’d be playing it…but are you having a good time? It must be lots of fun. 😀

    • Aww, thanks for thinking about me Emma! It’s starting to get hectic. We have our first show this Thursday night then one on Friday and two shows on Saturday! I’m going to be at the theater all week rehearsing, so please pray for me and the rest of the cast. It sure is exhausting, but it is a ton of fun. 🙂

    • Hey @Christi-Eaton, I hope they went amazingly! I wonder how you won’t all be hoarse after so many times in a row. 😛

      • They all went really well! Despite having a cold myself everything went really well! Thank you for your prayers and support. I wish you could have been able to see it. My mom did tag me in some pictures on Facebook so you should have Kate show you. 🙂

        • Yay!! Congrats for managing it with a cold…*shudder* Hope you get better soon.
Aw, I wish I could’ve seen it too! I would so, SO like to see a performance of that sometime.
I had Kate show me the pictures… 🙂
You make a lovely Cosette, Christi! (Though I like you better than Cosette, personally. More spirited and less coquettish, for starters. 😛 )
Thanks so much for sharing—I loved hearing about it and seeing the pics.
I think I know this, but can’t remember for sure— you’ve read the book, the full book, right?
*happy sigh* I love Les Miserables.

          • I’m glad you liked the pictures. You are so sweet Emma! And aye! I have read the whole book and it is one of my absolute favorites!

            • *huge dancing grins* I’m so glad.
So the musical is good in its own way, even for someone who loves the book…I know it’s not entirely accurate to the book though I haven’t seen it. But I’m happy to know it’s possible for someone who loves the book to love the musical too, even though it’s different. I wouldn’t want to dislike the musical if I ever saw it, even though I love the songs. 😛
May I ask also, have you seen any of the movies? I know there’s about a dozen, and I’m so hoping to find at least one fabulous book-to-movie adaptation of Les Mis sometime in my life.
That to say—if you have, are any of them good?

            • The musical is fantastic. I just accept the differences and move on, that’s what I usually do with book-to-movie things. Funny story, the entire cast would just keep singing the songs backstage the entire time, it was fun. I have seen a few of the movies but a long time ago and I can’t remember which was good and which one wasn’t 🙂 I also recommend the Focus on the Family audio drama of the story though I’m not a fan of the Fantine they did and they did not really do Eponine at all.

    • @Christi-Eaton Yeah, that’s a good philosophy. 😉
      That sounds so fun. 😀
Ah well, I’ll find out someday.
Okay…I’ve heard of that from several people. *nods*

And hey, I just wanna say, you really inspire me. You’re so friendly, and mature too, and you just seem…very welcoming and ‘bring-everyone-together-like’; very charismatic, I guess I mean. Thanks for being so; it’s inspiring.

      • Seriously girl, you are the absolute sweetest!!! I have loved getting to know you through Kingdom Pen. Your charming personality makes my day every time I talk to you. 🙂 I’m glad you find me inspiring. Honestly, I don’t try to be but it makes me happier than you know when I’m put in a place where I can encourage and mentor people. That’s mainly why KP is perfect for me. 😉

        • Well Christi, you just totally made MY day with that. (And Kate relayed what you said to her on Facebook about her and myself on KP—that is so sweet!! I actually didn’t think we appeared TOGETHER on KP very often…)
I have absolutely loved getting to know you too, and thanks so much for your sweet, heart-lifting words. *hug*
You’re perfect for KP, too. It wouldn’t be the same without you. You’re good at encouraging and mentoring people, so it’s wonderful you love to do it so much. 🙂

P.S. My middle name is Christine. 🙂

          • Well I’m glad we made each other’s day. *all the feels and happiness and hugs*

About your middle name, that’s pretty cool. I love names, middle names, nicknames, whatever, they are just so special. My middle name is Juliann.

Also I loved talking to you today. It would be so cool to Skype or something one of these days. I hope your evening is as incredible as you are beautiful girl. <3

            • Me too.

              Names…yes, I love names. Yours included. 😉

I loved it too, so much. Always hoping when going to check the e-mail for notifications I’d see a ‘Christi Eaton replied to one of your updates’. 😀 *wipes away happy tears because she loves this girl a lot*
You have an incredible evening too, Christi. <3 God bless you a lot.

            • Aww Emma <3 I love you too!!! Seriously though, I did the same thing, I don't think I have ever clicked on an email faster 😉

    • *bright-eyed grin*
      Here’s to a happy week. 🙂
      @Christi-Eaton

    • @Christi-Eaton That’s so sweet of you to ask. You had me smiling for at least 15 minutes after I read that notification. 🙂
Well, not bad, not bad…I had a monster headache for several day this week, but it’s mostly worn off now. (I have a chronic headache problem that’s a big puzzle for all kinds of doctors we’ve been to for it…we haven’t given up quite yet though. :/ )
We’re enjoying the lovely Spring weather we’re having in February, and we’ll be busier soon because our eleventh baby to be born is due for the middle of March. 🙂
Also I recently finished my school, except for some math review I’ll be doing and a couple more reports to write, and history reading. But I’m mostly done, even though I’ll not ‘officially’ graduate yet, at just 16—non-homeschool officials might get suspicious. 😛

How’re YOU doing? I’ve seriously been hoping and praying you’re having a pleasant and restful week.

      • Well, I’m glad I was able to make you smile. That’s one of my favorite things to do 😉 Sorry to hear about the headaches, that’s no fun. I’ve been well. Life is a struggle as always but its not been too bad this week. I’m working on finishing up this college class right now, which I am enjoying, and then I’ll have another 8-week class starting in two weeks and then I’ll be done, getting ready for my graduation and then off to college in the fall. So I’m taking a little break from watching lectures right now, and also rescuing two pencils, a bobby pin, a book, and my rug from my puppy. She’s almost ten weeks old now and quite a handful 😀 (oh wait, I just rescued a piece of notebook paper she stole out of my bedroom trashcan) She has a bucket of toys but apparently they don’t satisfy her. 🙂

Goodness, I just let her outside so hopefully she won’t get into much trouble. 😀 Anyway, I hope the rest of your week goes well, I’ll be praying for you and your family (especially around March 😉 ) As always, I love chatting with you girl. (You should get a Facebook like Kate so we can chat on there 🙂 ) Have a great day Love!

        • What’s your college class on? And are these classes not actual college, since you said after you finish them you’re off to college?
Your puppy does sound like mischief, but cute mischief. 😛 What’s her name, and what kind is she?

Thanks so much for praying. 🙂

Well I think Facebook’d be fun, and that’s just the problem—I think I’d spend too much time on there. 😛 I dunno…maybe if I ever need an account for business or something particularly practical (I have a little florist business, catering to the guests of our rental cabins. My oldest sister Elizabeth has a cake making business, and she had to get an account for that—maybe you’ve seen her on FB, as a ‘friend’ of Kate or something…)…then if I HAD to have an account, I might as well use it. 😉
I really love chatting with you though, and I’m glad we have this kind of outlet at least, for occasional chats. 🙂
I’m so glad I’ve gotten to know you.
We live out in the country, and there aren’t lots of people similar to us around, so I particularly love talking with all the people on KP (the nice, usually similar people that they are!). That kind of fellowship isn’t a regular occurrence around here (though we do it when we can), so I love that I can connect with like people here, more often. And I love it when they want to chat too. 🙂

          • @emma-flournoy I’m just doing some online classes through Master’s college. I’ll have five under my belt before I head to Providence Christian College in the Fall. 🙂 My puppy is named Eponine (yes I named her after that wonderful Les Mis character) but we call her Eppi for short and she is an Australian Cattle Dog. I’ll have to send some pics to Kate so she can show you. She’s adorable and already super smart. Aw, having a little florist business sounds so fun! The only “business” I have is selling whatever art I can and cleaning my Great Grandma’s house. (Gotta make money somehow 😉 ) I totally understand with the Facebook thing. I’m probably on it more often than I should myself, but it’s nice for all my far-away family members and a bunch of my long-distance friends. (It’s really annoying sometimes cause I can’t actually see them often.) But Skype is nice plus one of my absolute favorite things is snail mail so I do that when I can. (One of my highlights this week was sending out a nice thick letter to our Director of Community Happiness so that was quite nice.) I love connecting with people like yourself on Kingdom Pen and I thank God so often for this little place of writers and all the people involved in it (that includes you girly 🙂 )
Anyway, I’m off to my church for a Bible Study so I’ll talk to you later Emma!

            • Five, wow! What will you be majoring in?

Eppi…that’s so cute. I figured it was after her…never heard of anyone else named Eponine. 😛 (Les Mis fans…what we won’t do. XD)

I know, gotta make money somehow. It’s useful at the very least. 😉 What kind of art do you sell?

Ah yes, I’m sure FB is good for long distance connections. How many siblings do ya have? Were you homeschooled?
And uh this probably is dumb but, what’s snail mail? I’ve heard of it but am not entirely sure what it is…is it just regular mail?
I’m sure Sarah will be thrilled!! She’s so sweet. 🙂
And yes, Skype is nice (especially when your camera actually works).
It’s nice to actually see the people you’re talking too, even if it’s a little harder to say what you wanna say…it’s easier sometimes to communicate through writing. But maybe that’s just me, who can be a little akward/shy at first in person. *gulp*

I’m more glad than I can say how welcoming this place is even though I’m not a writer, and thank you, Christi. 🙂 Kingdom Pen is amazing, and I’m so glad God gets the glory here.

Hope you have an awesome Bible study!

            • @emma-flournoy,
I usually try to sell paintings, sometimes it’s fanart of Disney characters and stuff, so it’s pretty fun though I haven’t painted anything new in a long time. 🙁 My preferred method of art is are basic pencil sketches. I’m working on realistic portraits though I dabble in like an animated style every once in a while. What about you? Do you do art or anything like that? If not, what are some of your hobbies?

And yes, snail mail is just a more fun way to say regular mail 😉 There is something quite special about handwritten letters. (I always fill mine with doodles and decorate the envelopes and do fun things like that too) Yes, Sarah is super sweet. She sent me a letter to encourage me as I was performing Les Miserables and it was definitely a much-needed pick-me-up. 😀
I have one brother who is two and half years younger than me, but we are best friends so we get along great and do all sorts of things together, Mark played the Bishop in Les Miserables and it was his first acting experience and I think he enjoyed himself. I’ve been homeschooled since 2nd grade and it has been one of the best things for me. I’m assuming you are homeschooled yourself 😉
I think everyone is a little shy at first when they first meet another person. I used to be super shy. (Like wouldn’t talk to anyone) But I guess I ended up growing out of it because I don’t have that problem very much anymore. Though there are so many days I’d rather stay home than talk to people. But I think that’s my introvertedness talking.

    • @Christi-Eaton Eh, not really. I’m terrible at drawing, unless I have a picture to directly copy, in which case I’m still not incredible. (Unless I’m drawing cubes. I’m good at those. XD) My ten-year-old brother would beat me a thousand times over in an art contest, even on an Etch-A -Sketch.
Your art sounds like lots of fun. I love character pictures.
I guess I don’t have many ‘hobbies’, like art and stuff…probably my main one would be playing the violin, unless reading counts. 😉

Gotcha. I love snail mail too. You’re right, handwritten letters are so special.

Yay!! Yep, I’m homeschooled too. It’s awesome, I know. And I absolutely love it when siblings are best friends.
Good for Mark! I think I remember seeing the bishop in one of the FB pics…must’ve been him. Duh.

Yeah, I understand the difference between shyness and introversion. I’d agree you must’ve outgrown your ‘not talk to anyone’ shyness. 😀
I’m basically an ISFJ ENFJ hybrid, and I feel that way too because I sometimes feel decidedly either introverted or
      extroverted.

Oh, and is Providence Christian College close to you, or will you have to go far? What do you plan to get a degree in?

      • Good for you for playing the violin! I love music immensely but I don’t play anything. Mark has an ear for music so I just enjoy myself listening to him play piano, or whatever kind of instrument catches his fancy. 😀 Providence is only about 45-50 minutes away from my house (with traffic) and I will live on campus but it’s close enough I can come when I want. It’s a small school and though they are growing it only has about 200 students. I had my heart set on that ever since I was a Freshman. God blessed myself and my family and through some amazing scholarships, I’m able to attend without too much financial trouble. I’m really excited about attending and I’ll get a degree in Liberal Arts but I’ll major in English (maybe minor in drama or something if I’m lucky) I’d like to get my Master’s in English. My goal is to teach High school English, and maybe a little bit of drama and art to spice things up a bit. (I’m full ESTJ, can’t you tell? 😀 ) So yeah, that’s my goal in life as of right now. We’ll see how it all plays out 😉 What about you? Got any plans/goals/dreams for the future?

        • So glad you’ve got a good location/financial situation for it!
Full ESTJ…well, I’d don’t know that they like drama that much, so practical and all; I don’t know, is that how they are? Mebbe you have a nice streak of iNtuitive too. 😛 But the teaching, and wholeheartedness of it all, yep, ESTJ for ya. ESTJs are great. 😀
I wish you happiness and success in whatever God wants for you. 🙂

My goal for life, rather a broad goal, is ultimately just to bring God glory with all I do, and be the most helpful person I can to anyone who should need it, in whatever situation I’m in…but uh-huh, that’s a broad goal. And I’m sure yours is to glorify God too. 😀 For ‘material’ goals, really what I’m hoping for and think would be best (though obviously I’m gonna follow God’s direction! He seems to be preparing me for this for now.) is to get married, and not have a career or anything…raise a Godly family full of Christians for the next generation, and help and show Christ’s love to anyone who comes my way. (I’ve got awhile to go in the longterm patience department before I’d be able to live that as well as it sounds. 😛 But I’m workin’ on it.)
Will you want to have a family, along with your teaching (and writing?)?

          • That sounds like such a wonderful plan! I encourage you to follow in your faithfulness to the Lord as I can see you are doing already! As for me, if the Lord wills it, I would love to get married and have a family, (my friends keep trying to play matchmaker and set me up with a couple people already but to no avail 😀 ) But I’d certainly love to have a couple kids, so we’ll see how that goes. (I really want to raise a couple of boys)

I hope you had a wonderful Saturday and finish out your weekend well tomorrow! As always, I love getting the chance to talk with you.

            • Matchmakers eh… 😛 I prefer to watch while God does the orchestrating. Not that I’ve ever had the chance…but I think that’s better. 😀

              Thank you, you too friend!
