And when you have to say goodbye,
You tilt her face up to the sky,
And point out castles in the air.
You shape a dream she’s one day share.
Yet she does not yet fit in them.
Her world is shadowed, dank, and dim.
So as nothing else will soothe her loss,
You take her place upon the cross.
