If I were a child again,

Would I in whimsy wonder

Forget that sorrow can bite harder,

When I have not learned to heal,

Or understand.

If I were a child again, 

Would the creatures of the closets

Take the place of grown up fears? 

Are they any different now

Inside my mind? 

Tell me,

If I were a child again,

Would innocence be better,

Or would I learn to treasure,

The things that I have learned

By growing up?

If I were a child again,

Would I finally realize,

That more things grow,

And less things change,

Than just my size?
