Funny, isn’t it, how when humans find something beautiful, their eyes quickly find the single blemish. Instead of enjoying the beauty, they focus on that one blemish, and suddenly that thing is no longer so beautiful anymore to them.

Is it right to look only at the blemish? No, I don’t think so. Is it right to look only at the beauty? No, I don’t think so either, for if we forget the blemish entirely, we will think the thing is perfect, and no thing is perfect but God. If we can not look solely at the blemish, and forget the beauty, or look solely at the beauty and forget the blemish, than what is the balance? Do we focus equally on them both? Should we focus a little more on the blemish than the beauty or focus a little more on the beauty than the blemish? Does it change depending on the blemish and the thing? Or is there a constant ratio that should be between beauty and blemish?

I probably shouldn’t be thinking about this so late at night…
