@ellette-giselle | I’ve listened to all the soundtracks now! Saying it here so I don’t bomb your book topic with a bunch of Sight & Sound stuffs (and because I still don’t have too much to say about them), lol.
You said to tell you what I thought after I listened to the ones i haven’t heard before… and the short answer of what I think: They are all great, lol, but the recent ones are definitely the best. I get what you mean now, by that they seem to have gotten better in the more recent years/after Esther. 😄 My favorites are still Esther and Samson, but I think David has tried (quite successfully, actually) to weave itself up there with them.

    • Long answer/opinion that’s basically me just rambling and saying me favorite songs from each… ⬇️⬇️ Hopefully that’s not annoying.😅 AnYhOw.

DAVID. EEEEEEEEEEEEE!!! The David songs are goodie!! I wasn’t expecting the Prologue to be like that, but boy oh boy, that slaps! Like, right off the bat! lol!! Do I regret listening to this? Absolutely not. AHH they were all good, but I really like Anything to Keep the Crown, God of the Harvest, Never Back, Let Everything That Has Breath, and Psalm 24 and Psalm 23 (ah, my heart, these were so good 🥹). I also love the Creation Sings—I wasn’t sure what to think at first but ah it’s good. And the Finale, AH! They were all good actually. My family and I MUST go see this one now, lol.

ESTHER. I’ve already kind mentioned how much I love this one, but I must continue here. I love all the Esther songs—espesially these (in this order): Three Days, Reversal, A Sign, Not Alone, and Reflections of Persia. I also love the beginning harmony of Esther’s parents in Remembering Home. Not Alone is so powerful, it was one of the few songs that made me almost wanna cry when we say it in theater. ♥️

MOSES. Hmm… Moses… We weren’t fond of the Moses one when we watched it, but I never got to hear the whole soundtrack. Listening to it now though, different story. Ahh, I love The Shepherd’s Way! I also like Desert Trek, Brick Chant, and Not One Brick Less… (don’t know why, i just do). Kiss the Morning is cute.

JESUS. AH I love them all. I like the way they sing in the recorded play we have… but still, my top favorites are To Rescue the One, Am I the Blind Man, Taking Care of Me, The Lord’s Prayer, and Jerusalem City of Gold. Sometimes I like He Rescued Me. Again, I’m not as enthusiastic about the way they’re sang in the YouTube album-thing, but they’re still good!

DANIEL. Ahh screeeeeeeeeee!! Daniel’s song were good!! AHH Hopefully it comes to Branson toooo! ❤️ AHH I LOVE THEM ALL!! My favorites here are Indoctrination, New Wind (Ezekiel’s Song), Babylon Creation, Belshazzar’s Feast, and In the Fire… in that order. 😜 Also. Where You Are, Daniel’s Prayer, and Jeremiah’s Lament… ah my heart! 😭

JONAH. Ehh, we weren’t very fond of the actual play for Jonah either, but I do love 39 Days and Jonah on the Run… OH!! And also Cause I Know Jonah Best, lol I love that one. Everyone Has a Ninevah is interesting. And… well… um, that’s all I’ve to say about that. 🤷‍♀️

(“You won’t find Jonah by the sea!” “Why?” “He’s terrified of water!” lol)

SAMSON. Tbh, I’ve always loved Samson, even reading his part in my Bible, so I think that adds to my love for the Sight & Sound theater version of his story, lol. My favorite Smason songs are (in this order): A Simple Life, Eye for an Eye, Roaring Lion, Samson’s Here, and Someone Like Me. Freedom is the song I sing when I’m feeling confident about my (minimal) singing capabilities lol. Oh, and to be completely honest, I’ve always like the Philistia Brave and Strong Reprise too. Ah, my siblings memorized these songs the moment we got back from the play, and listening to them is evoking memories I’m fond of, lol. 😂

RUTH. Uhh… to be honest… I’m not fond of the soundtack. I mean, they’re good—I like Zikaron and Min Ha a Rets (and the Reprise of it)—but not my favorites… 😊

NOAH. Fortunately, we own the Noah play (since they recorded it and all), so we could say I have heard the soundtrack, though I really wish they had it on YouTube or Apple Music or something so I could hear it again. UGH 😑. I really love all the songs in it, but I can’t remember what my top favs were called… so yeah. To roughly mention them, I like the one about choosing a side/crossing the line… and the baskets one… and the song for when it stops raining… and… AHHH I can’t remember them all! *sad*

But oh well. There it is. There is my long ramble. I spent my whole day yesterday listening to music and doing nothing—it was worth it though. 😆 So yeah, that’s what I think!

Oh and the Christmas one…? Uh. I don’t believe in Christmas in any way they try to say it… so I’ma stick with no opinion for this…

    • Ah I mean… I guess the Christmas one is… eh… It falls in the same category as Ruth.

      • WOW!! That was a lONG rundow!

My favorites have always been Daniel, David, and Esther. I don’t like the rest of them as much, though I’ve only heard some of the Jesus one. (I’ll have to try it again) But yeah! They are so amazing! I love them a tone, and I would love, love to see a Sight & Sound live again. I think Daniel has to be my top favorite, with David as a close second. I LOVE the song in David where they take all the main themes and combine them for the song after David killed Uriah. They gave How the Mighty Fall a new twist along with Anything to Save the Crown! AH!! Sooo goood!!!!

I also love In the Fire and i LOVE Daniel’s prayer, of yes, and the Babylonian Creation!

Thanks for your thoughts! They were so fun to read!!

Have you got any questions for me?

        • Lolol 😁

Ah, I see. 🙃 Yes, yes, yeeesssss!! (yes is the only answer I can think up rn). I hadn’t notice the combined themes with the David song, but that’s cool! I’ll listen again at some point.

Of course! I had fun listening to them and typing it!! 😊

Questions for you? Mmmm…. not really. I’m not sure what to ask… 🙃
