Hello there.
I had a question concerning weapons and was told you’re the guy to ask. It actually wasn’t for writing as much as for myself.
I have done some sword fighting in the past, but I would really like to get into really learning the lost art of fighting with a sword. I’m looking at buying a real sword as well, but am having trouble knowing what to go with. I like the European makes the best, (especially German, honestly) But I’m not sure what to get. I’m a short woman, (about 5″2) I’m not extremely strong and muscular, (I don’t lift weights or anything) however I am a farm kid and I’ve played sports for the last nine years. So, I’m no wilting violet. (lol) All that to say, do you have any thoughts/recommendations?
I’m looking for a light, more elegant blade, but also practical. I dislike basket hilts because they tend to restrict the wrist movement I’m used to having. I don’t want anything I’ll have to use both hands for either.
I’ve been looking at Cold Steel because I’ve heard they have the best, most reliable, most authentic weapons. However, if you know of a better place I’m all ears.
So, anyhow. Do you have any thoughts on a good sword?
Here are the ones I am currently looking at.(Still not sure about the hilt on this one)

(Don’t love it, but it might be the only one light enough for me)

Looking forward to hearing from you!
