Nahim sat at the head of the meeting table for another meeting. He’d spent the night pacing after another nightmare, and the early morning hours playing his violin. He hadn’t even eaten breakfast. Looking at him, it was noticeable by the dark circles under his eyes that this had been the routine for a few nights in a row. Today, he felt like passing out. His face was pale, his chest slightly ached. He couldn’t walk without hiding that he felt like falling over. This emperancy was draining everything out of him. But he couldn’t step down, they were in the middle of a climatic war.
“What is your opinion, Emperor Nahim?” The voice of one of the Masters broke his thoughts.
“Huh? Oh, yes, I think your doing right. Though I wish…”
“Yes, Emperor?”
“I, I just want this war over, but I’m not sure I can finish it.” The Masters and lords looked at him with confused faces. Nahim closed his eyes and rubbed his temple with his left hand. Lord Elijah lookedbat him concerned.
“Are you sure you’re alright, Nahim.”
“I’m okay, just I should start taking sleeping pills or something at night.” Nahim’s father-in-law didn’t look like it calmed him down. Nahim stood from his seat, grasping the table to steady himself.
“I believe this meeting is done, and if you’ll excuse me, I need to go rest. If you need to ask about something, talk to your Empress.” His knuckles went white as he held on. Lord Elijah jumped up from his seat,
“Nahim, let me help you back to your quarters.” Nahim straightened himself.
“I’m fine, Elijah, really. I just need some rest.” Nahim walked to the door, his mind on just keeping his feet moving. His guards came to form around him, but before they could, Nahim’s world heaved and disappeared. All he heard was Lord Elijah calling his name…
