@kyronthearcaninHave you ever made a fanfic off of the Bible? (Or, I guess it would be more historical fiction.) I haven’t, but I think doing the research of digging into the Word would be super cool!
I have, actually, kind of just for fun. It was roughly 1500 words because I was entering it in a contest thingy. I called it Two-hundred and Seventy-Six because it was from one of the crew member’s perspectives in the story where Euroclydon smashed Paul’s ship to Rome, and yet they all survived. The sailor I used for an MP was pretty skeptical the whole time, and I never gave him a name, because I had to stay under the word limit and wanted to say a lot of other stuff… Anyway, yeah! Besides that, I’ve done random fiction off of a few Bible characters… Esther, Ruth, Daniel, Noah, David, etc. It’s really enjoyable, actually. Research can be super fun. For example, in Two-Hundred and Seventy-Six, I was able to find out that Castor and Pollux, the twin sons of Zeus, made up the ship’s figurehead. Also, ironically, there was a town named Fair Havens that was a real nightmare in the winter, so they couldn’t land there. I’d definitely say it was fun, but you just have to be careful not to misrepresent the people. Making it from someone’s perspective that isn’t really mentioned is helpful, because then you know that you can do what you want with that character’s personality. Something I personally thought would be cool was to make a book out of a bunch of random fictional characters present in Bible times.
I have so many ideas for Biblical fiction!! 😂 Someday, I’d love to actually write it. XD
I’d love to write about: Simon Peter, Rhoda, one of Jesus’ siblings, and Esther.
Obviously, that would take a lot of work, so I haven’t expanded upon it. (The most I did was make a moodboard for Simon Peter. 😁)
And I have more ideas that I can’t remember right now. XD
