      Hello fellow writers! I’m Kayleigh, a homeschooled 15-year-old and wordsmith! I’m an INTJ, Disney fanatic, Bookworm, lover of fantasy, theatre kid, Child of God, Swiftie, and the second oldest of four kids (my younger brother is adopted!!). My favorite series is The Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer and my favorite authors are Marissa Meyer, Marie Lu, Jessica Brody, and Leigh Bardugo. My favorite movies are Pride & Prejudice, Emma, and Little Women (I guess I have a thing for period dramas?). I’ve written a few short stories, a novella and two novels andI hope to be a hybrid author one day. My current WIP is a fantasy retelling of Medusa and Snow White.

        @kayleigh-idea Hi there! Welcome to the Kingdom!

        Your WIP sounds pretty interesting! Are you combining the two stories?

        What other hobbies do you have?

        Lately, it's been on my brain

          I *love* to sing and perform in musicals.

          What do you like to write about? What’s your WIP about?

              Thank you for the warm welcome, Issabelle! Some of my favorites Disney movies off the top of my head are Tangled and Big Hero 6. 🙂 What about you? Your WIP sounds super cool! I love all retellings. I’m still in the outlining phase so I don’t have too much to share about my WIP but let’s just say it involves dragons, lot of magic and a touch of romance. 🙂 But I’d love to know more about your Aladdin retelling!

              ~ Wow, this is hard! There’s this great book called Sky Without Stars, which I love the title of.

              ~ This is a hilarious question. Probably Dorian, my MC’s best friend. XD

              ~ I love listening to music while I write! Though it’s mostly instrumental

              ~ Another hard question! But I’d have to go with write.

                @kayleigh-idea

                Hi!!! Really glad to have you join the Kingdom! It sounds like you’re a very productive writer and have gotten so many projects done! I applaud you.

                As you can see, I’m Joy Caroline, but also answer to JC, Joy, Caroline… whatever XD.

                I love the Pride and Prejudice movie, too, although I don’t care for the book. I also love Little Women, both the movie and the book. And by the way, that is so awesome that your younger brother is adopted! I have an adopted character in my current Biblical fiction WIPs about St. Paul. His sister has an adopted son.

                Time for some questions, hehe.

                1. What’s your favorite music… songs, artists, bands…? I ask everyone this because I am always looking for great new music!

                2. Ooh, musicals! Which ones have you performed in? What’s your favorite musical? (Mine is Hamilton hands down, but I also love The Phantom of the Opera.)

                3. What’s your fave color? (Mine is light pink!)

                And I’d like to invite you to join our “WIP Chat” forum to tell us more about your WIP!

                  Hi, Joy Caroline! It’s nice to meet you.

                  1. Taylor Swift. I am the biggest fan of her music!

                  2. I’ve performed in 10 shows, including Music Man Jr., Seussical Jr., and Aladdin Jr

                  3. Yes! Hamilton is my favorite too! I also like Hadestown and the Prince of Egypt.

                  4. Rose gold. 🙂

                  I’d love to join the chat! Though I don’t have too much to share about my WIP but I’d love to hear abut everyone elses.

                    @kayleigh-idea

                    Ooooh, I LOVE TANGLED!! 😍 Aah, I’m gonna have to go with Aladdin (both versions!), I’m kind of obsessed with those movies right now…which I’m sure you can tell why. 😂 Aww, THANK YOU SOO MUCH!!!!!! <33 Aaah, I see, that’s okay! But I should add that any story with dragons automatically equals AWESOME soooo I’m sure you’ve got a SUPER AMAZING story you’re working on o’er there!!! Your story seems to have just about everything I want in a novel!!!!! Oooh, Is this more chances to ramble without end about my story? XD Sooo my story is titled Into the Lamp! Lemme see…it’s really hard to summarize the story in a short way. *thinking really hard* Eh, I give up. I’ll just show you the synopsis I’m working on. But it doesn’t sound all that great so continue at your own risk!

                    When you go into the lamp, you never know what you may find.

                    Sixteen-year-old Colin Carlson only wanted a normal life. He was preparing for college in a couple years, his chance to finally do something more important than working at his aunt and uncle’s restaurant. But all his plans are shattered the day a strange man showed up and made him go on this crazy hunt to find a lamp. A lamp that supposedly held a powerful genie inside. Yeah, right.

                    Except it did, and now Colin’s stuck with a genie. A teenage girl genie, who says he gets three wishes. He’s ready for his first wish that may involve the daughter of the richest man in town. Colin’s had a crush on her for years now, and with this genie, he may finally have a chance to impress her. But someone is after him, seeking the genie’s power for some mysterious desire that he wants no part of. As everything unravels apart, Colin is drawn into a fight to save his genie and her world. But how is he supposed to save the day when he’s so clumsy, awkward, and, in other words, not hero material? He is caught in the middle of a war between two worlds but may not yet be ready for the challenges ahead.

                    Oooh, that’s a SUPER COOL book title name! And I LOVED your answers to my questions! (Haha, I’m glad you found that one funny. I try to add some ridiculous or not normally asked questions in the bunch. XD) And for the last one, I’m TOTALLY with you on going for writing! That’s what I’d choose. I LOVE to read but I could NEVER EVER EVER give up writing!

                    God gives His hardest battles to His strongest soldiers.

                      @kayleigh-idea

                      Cool! My favorite pop artists are Mariah Carey and Faouzia.

                      And wow – you sound very talented! The Prince of Egypt is super awesome. I love the song “When You Believe” by Mariah Carey and Whitney Houston. I’m so happy to find another Hamilton fan!! It really is an epic musical.

                      Rose gold is such a pretty color. I own quite a few rose-gold things.

                      Of course! The discussions on the WIP chat are always interesting, feel very welcome to check them out and give any tips! 🙂

                        Wow, Issabelle! Your WIP sounds so cool! I love the title BTW. 🙂 And the idea of the genie being a girl is intriguing.

                          @kayleigh-idea Combining both stories! I’d love to hear more about it!

                          Ooh, musicals and singing! That sounds really fun!

                          I tend to write crime, fantasy, slice of life…all three…Here is a quick synopsis of one of my WIPs:

                          (*spins the wheel of WIPs* Everybody gets to hear a different one of mine, lol. Oh, and it looks like we’ve landed on Those Who Were Given Another Yesterday.)

                          Nine characters are trapped in a time loop. Yesterday they were friends, tomorrow they will be enemies. Today…they can only live in the present.

                          With memories being constantly wiped and identities exchanged with every reset, can the nine of them work together to break the loop? Or will they be forced to relive these few months of their lives forever?

                          I have like three more in my pocket right now…if you’d like to find out more about them, feel free to head over to the WIP chat! Or you could share more about your own! I’d love to hear more about it!

                            Wow! Your WIP sounds so cool! I don’t have much to share much about my own WIP… but like I was telling Issabelle earlier it involved, dragons, lots of magic, and a touch of romance. 🙂

                              Welcome to KP!

                              I am @ScoutFinch180 and I like writing speculative fiction.

                              What is a hybrid author?

                              I’ve been thinking about trying Lunar Chronicles, but I have cold feet because I don’t want insomnia over character anxiety or too much sexual-stuff that’ll make me want to take a shower (kissing and hugging is fine). Does it lean more toward fantasy or sci-fi (I’ve been a long-time fantasy fan and i want to get into sci-fi as well beyond just a number of movies. I’m actually writing a short story (series or novel, hopefully?) that is a sci-fi, have you written in that genre before?

                              We crazy people are the normal ones.

                                Hello!

                                A hybrid author is someone who publishes traditionally and independently. 🙂

                                Nothing in the series goes beyond kissing or hugging and it does lean more towards sci-fi, I would say. I’ve never written sci-fi but I definitely want to sometime in the future! What’s your short story about?
