Good evening, fellow writers.
I admit I have been curious about something for some time but I have not yet had opportunity to test my theory. I would like to know if certain MBTI types have typical genres they write in.
Comment below with your type and favorite genre. We shall see if there is a trend to the results.

#ProtectSebJanuary 12, 2021 at 10:57 pm #88981@ugroza OH Looked it up lol. Figured it was Myers-briggs something lol! So, last I took the test, I got mediator (which is so me. But idk if its changed lol.) And I really love fantasy. Also, apparently Tolkien was a mediator also and he wrote fantasy. Plus, Mediators are the ones most likely to dream of or write a book!

#ProtectSebJanuary 12, 2021 at 11:27 pm #88982I first learned of them as the Meyers Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) but they are also known as the 16 personalities. They are categories of 16 different types. Theoretically, everyone is one of the types.
Here is the link to take the test if you are interested.
https://www.16personalities.comJanuary 12, 2021 at 11:36 pm #88983I am an ENXP. The X is because I’m borderline F and T. I heard that most writers are introverts, but I’m eager to see what we find here.

January 13, 2021 at 10:43 am #88993I’m also an INFP, and I like writing sci-fi (sometimes fantasy) 🙂

www.jennaterese.comJanuary 13, 2021 at 11:21 am #88994@ugroza Every time I take the thing I get something different, but I usually get INFJ, INFP, or ISFJ. I like writing fantasy, crime, slice of life.
Lately, it's been on my brain
Would you mind letting me know
If hours don't turn into daysJanuary 13, 2021 at 12:55 pm #88995I’ve taken the test multiple times, but like @devastate-lasting I always get a different answer. My “personality” drastically changes depending on the day and my mood, and who I’m around. Sooo, yeah. XD But my favorite genres to write in are fantasy, and contemporary.

January 13, 2021 at 3:48 pm #89004I’m an ENFP and my favorite genre is either suspense or action-adventure but I mainly write fantasy. *shrugs* I’m weird. 😜

Interesting topic!
I took the 16 Personalities test a while ago and discovered I’m a Mediator. My favorite genre is Biblical fiction, so that’s what I write.
January 13, 2021 at 6:57 pm #89021I already told you, but I’m an ENFP and I love to write fantasy and thriller/suspense!!!!!!!! 😀

-gladiator, 2000January 13, 2021 at 7:14 pm #89022I have noticed almost everyone who has responded is in XNFP. Interesting.
January 13, 2021 at 8:54 pm #89029*waves* I’m ISTJ. We commonly write more logical and intellectual stuff but I prefer just totally overthinking my plots and characters. 🙂

ekseaver.wordpress.comJanuary 13, 2021 at 8:55 pm #89031@ugroza, yeah, most writers are Ns, and most fantasy/fiction/YA are XNFP. Has to do with the Ne urge for creativity and the Fi urge for expressing oneself.
