I just found out about Kingdom Pen and am so glad I did. It seems almost impossible to find a good Christian website for young authors. It is an honor to be part of this Kingdom.

I’m a teen writer who has been writing practically my whole life and mostly write fiction, fantasy, and poetry. I especially love writing in wintery and woodland-like medieval settings. Needless to say, I am a huge fan of Narnia:) I like a great variety of things, from horses, and ancient swords to Christmas lights, and birch trees, all the way to ‘War and Peace’ and Star Wars. Oh, and Robert Frost.

Currently, I’m in the re-writing process of a novel that I’ve been building notes around for three years and it finally just came out of NaNoWriMo as a great first draft. Okay, I exaggerated a little, it’s not all that great. In fact, it’s kind of a mess. But I still love my cast of characters, even after all we went through in November. Though I have not made any definites on the plot yet, it revolves around a young woman warrior. She lives most of her time alone in a white forest of winter (it’s not as big of a cliche as it sounds), protecting her home from impossible odds and battles with her faith. The themes revolve heavily around: survival, endurance, courage, hope, and good always wins.

My favorite quotes are “either write something worth reading or do something worth writing,” by Benjamin Franklin, “Your talent is God’s gift to you. What you do with it, is your gift back to God,” by Leo Buscaglia and “I can shake off everything if I write; my sorrows disappear; my courage is reborn,” by Anne Frank.  They represent a lot about the why and how of my writing. I believe that we are to use what God gives us and give it back up to Him by using it to the best of our abilities for Him, (I’m very grateful that one of the things He gave me was the love of writing.)

It is for certain that God is a stronghold in this crazy life.

I’m just thrilled to be here and thank you, fellow writers, for reading this. I can’t wait to meet you all:)

        Hi @abigail-m!

        Wait…Abigail M.?

        *squints*

My real name is Abigail and my last name initial is also M…

        *gasp*

        Are you my clone!?

        *Runs away screaming*

        *Returns 5 hours later*

        Okie dokie, anyway–

My internet name is Emily, so you can call me dat. I’m a teen, Christian, sci-fi & fantasy lover, kitty & bunny mom, ice skater, dancer, and a bunch of other stuff but how boring is that?

My current novel is sci-fi and I also like Star Wars!

Your book sounds very cool! Is it your first one or are you experienced in the world of writing? (Like me, maybe?)

Aha, I have some random questions for you:

~ What is your favourite book?
~ What is your personality type?
~ Who is your favourite YouTuber? (Or if you don’t watch YT, favourite actor maybe?)

        A wolf is a wolf,
        even in a cage,
        even dressed in silk.

          Hi Emily!
(That is such a cool coincidence that we’re both Abigails).

Anyway, yes, I’ve been reading all sorts of books about writing and done a good share of it. I have been published in a few minor sources, but nothing really mentionable. I’m working on it though:)

My favorite book is: ‘Dark Horse’ by John Fischer. It’s mostly about faith and leadership told through the POV of a horse. Personality type? I’m not sure exactly myself:) But I guess you could say I’m a farm girl who loves books. And as for youtube, well I usually only use it for tutorials, so my favorite actor is probably the old school Andy Griffith.

            Greetings,

I very much quite liked The Narnia books, what is your favorite and least favorite books in the series?

My favorite is the Lion The Witch And The Wardrobe and my least favorite is the Magician’s Nephew. That isn’t to say it was bad. Just. If I had to choose one, that would be it.

If you would like to know my personal favorite (and BEST) forum topic, (not coincidently made by me) I would recommend the “Cheesy Jokes Writers Edition” topic. Just if, ya know, if you were curious. 😀

              Hi!

Thank you for the greeting. Um, I think my favorite Narnia book is… well it is extremely hard to choose:) My favorite book is probably the Magicians Nephew (no offense or anything like that) and my least favorite is probably the last because that means the series is over. But Disney has three Narnia movies and my favorite out of those is definitely “The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe.”

And yes, I checked out that forum. It was great, but sadly, I couldn’t think of any joke funny enough to post. Oh well, if I think of one, I’ll share it:)

@abigail-m Hello! Welcome to the Kingdom!

I love Robert Frost’s poems! I live up in New England, so his poems always reflect what’s around me.

I also love Narnia! It’s been a long time since I read them though, haha.

What do you like to do when you’re not writing?

                    @issawriter7

                    Hello!

Thank you:) and yes, I plan on publishing. First I have to write my second draft and then see how many rewrites it will need. But definitely. I love the cast of characters I have and know that in that mess on my shelf (first draft) there’s a great novel… somewhere.

I don’t really have a favorite genre, just whatever dust jacket catches my eye (which is quite a few). But I do like stories that revolve around the fiction-fantasy area and adventure.

As for my longest book, actually, I’m presently reading War and Peace. I don’t know how much longer I can get:)

The place I would like to visit most would be the wilderness in Russia. I like to use the landscapes in the mountains and forests for some of my stories.

As for WIP, as outlandish and farfetched as it seems, one of my greatest dreams for it would be for it to become a motion picture. But for now, publication is my destination.

And if I could choose to either read or write for the rest of my life? Write, definitely. Writing is my favorite thing to do, I’d even sacrifice reading for it, (not an easy sacrifice either).

Thank you! It’s awesome getting to meet you too:)

                      Hi!

Yes, Robert Frost is great. He has a way of writing the things in nature that are easy to feel and see, but very hard to describe.

Mostly when I’m not writing, I like to make digital art or illustrate scenes from my novel or horseback ride. Reading too… oh and watching that series, Spirit Riding Free. I’m a fan of horses:)

                            @devastate-lasting

Sure, I can tell you a little about my WIP. I usually just don’t share explicits in my novel with anyone but don’t take offense, I hardly share that info with my cat:)

The main character’s name I haven’t decided on yet, so I always just refer to her as “my character.” It’s set mostly in the woods. I try to limit my cast of characters, but always end up with too many. I’m working on that though. Then again, I guess that is part of what a first draft is: the learning version of the novel. Not that I won’t learn from each draft, but the first usually the test round.

Anyway, the MC is a young woman warrior and has all the amenities of an unflinching and fierce warrior. A lot of that came from her past and lifestyle.

I love my novel though and actually, since today’s New Years, I can read the first draft for the first time since NaNoWriMo in November.

When I finished 50k, according to the advice I received from the NaNoWriMo HQ, I put it aside for a month and set my calendar for January first to read it and begin the re-write process.
