By K.E. Stanton
I'm the girl who loves Sméagol
Who believes he could've been good
Because we're all broken people
But we'd turn if we knew we could
I'm the one who loves Vader
Who hoped in the man under a mask
Because, see, we all have haters
But it's the goodness within that lasts
I rooted for Draco Malfoy
The minute he approached the scene
For though he seemed fruitless and coy
There was a boy under the seams.
I'm the girl who loved Scar
And was heartbroken when he died
Yes, he took his schemes too far
But don't we all sometimes?
I related to Maleficent
Despite her villainous ways
Because she taught me that love deficient
Causes your heart to fray.
I'm the one who loves Joker
Even though he is insane
Because under all our mediocre
We really are the same.
I'm the girl who loves Davy Jones
And wants him to regain his heart
For we're all scared of feeling alone
When love rips us apart.
I'm the girl who loves their darkness
Because I know it will be all right
For only in the blackness
Can you truly see the light.
I'm the girl who loves villains
You never know what you might see
They're not too far ridden,
Neither are you and me.
Love is not forbidden,
Nor less worth a try
For the ones that we call villains
Are the ones we left behind.

Yes Kiki! I think I remember reading this one before, and it’s so good! Congrats on getting published here! 🙂
I love this!
Really enjoyed this poem! I love the way you shined the light on the human part of these infamous villains. It makes you realize for better or for worse, that you’re more like them than you thought.
Love, love, love this! I feel like this beats with my heart, and it totally meshes with the short story that I just finished, called The Mourner. Thank you for sharing!
Great poem! I really enjoyed reading this! 🙂
I read a lot of poetry and I’m hardly ever impressed, BUT this poem gave me goosebumps! Your style is beautiful, and the topic is amazing. Honestly, I’m a little jealous I didn’t think of it myself 😉 Good job!! It’s awesome, keep it up!
Ooh, I love this!!
Interesting concept.
