Greetings!! *tips hat*
So as you know, I am writing a Dr Who fan novella (I think I’ve started one too many topics exactly like this XD). Its setting is in the country of Taranar, which contains the Red Chasms, which homes hundreds of Chasm Beasts like myself. But unlike myself, these Beasts are evil, even bloodthirsty. (total and constant darkness, and a few other components, will do that) But they are also incredibly intelligent. Their former leader has been known to take down an anonymous, blue, box-shaped time machine *smirks…* from space just by using his brains. Most Chasm Beasts aren’t quite that crazy powerful though.
ANYWAY, I need help! I’m trying to design some Chasm Beasts, and find names for them. So if you’re an artist, some drawings and sketches would be MUCH appreciated! And if you’re not an artist, just think up a description, and I’ll draw it (or someone else can.. 🙂 ).
I need something bizarre, perhaps ugly, and by all means, AWESOME. I’m thinking things like Clovens from the Wingfeather Saga. So, let your imagination fly into the dark corners of the Universe never to return! (Okay, maybe not…) And don’t be afraid of thinking up Beasts that are like polar opposites of each other. I want diversity!
Also, name suggestions! For the record, the name of the leader I was talking about earlier was named Shaavra. The names can look like that, or they can be prettier, or uglier, or whatever. Again, diversity is essential! As long as it’s EVIL. EVIL is a big part of these Beasts. (But please don’t worry about me — I have been out in the light for years)
One more thing, I have already sketched down a few Chasm Beasts of my own, but as of now, they have no names. So name suggestions! HIT ‘EM!
Note: This one CANNOT be named Dekreel. Find a different name LOL

@dekreel That first one looks more surprised than evil. 😀 I feel like it should have a fairly cute name and be a bumbling henchman type of creature. I also feel it’s name should end with “Urry” like Gurry or Turry or Lurry, or something weird like that.
I have no ideas for that second one.
the third one looks almost noble. Like, if he could be good he would be like Gandalf or Aragorn. So…um…a noble sort of name. but still evil….argh…I’m bad at fantasy names, as you can see. Give me a sec *runs off and returns with 40,000 baby names*

Goel (means redeemer in Hebrew though)
Gangol (means precious, and for some reason reminds me of the name Sméagol)
Kiyiyah (means wailing wolf in Native American)
Maleagant (a villainous knight in King Arthur legends)
Scanlon (means devious in Irish)
Szabolcs (meaning unknown, but it’s Hungarian and definitely sounds evil)
Tryggvi (means true in Scandinavian, but…it just looks evil…)
Uilleog (small in Irish. How about a super small and vicious little chasm beast?)
Ugur (Turkish but meaning is unknown)
Vasudev (Hindi)
Skipping over W because all those names are too cute.
Xenik (Russian for Sly)
Zajzon (Hungarian, meaning unknown)
Zitkaduta (Native American for Redbird)
There were go, that’s a bunch of names! I hope they help you in the naming of some chasm beasts. I have to admit, that I erroneously assumed that all chasm beasts look like you).

I think my favourite one is Szabolcs and if I ever find myself writing a high fantasy novel I’ll give that name to an orc captain or something.

@dekreel, Are you postitive it cant be Dekreel? I think it would fit that one perfectly…
in all seriousness, I have no time now, but be prepared to have a long list of names when I return.

Slasizch
Slasizch is a massive, hulking, bug eyed beast. He actually looks truly terrifying- like a giant crustacean from the ocean, with a carapace and massive claws that could crush cars in their grip. He makes a high-pitched chittering noise that paralyzes people, and walks on dozens of jointed, crablike legs.
Pazzgh
Pazzgh is a very large, batlike creature. He has four sets of wings, and is blind, but uses echolocation to sense things. His mouth is black and toothy, and he has been known to eat anything when hungry. He moves fast as a blur.
Korvk
Korvk is a… a thing. No one really knows what he is. He is some kind of small rodent-like creature, but no one has ever gotten a good look at him, because wherever he goes, shadows follow him. Korvk can inspire terror in people, and has been known to coerce weak willed beings into obeying him.
Zischaf’n
Zischaf’n is a snake, with eight tails, strong enough to lift her upright. She breathes a venom, and can use the power of her mind to move objects.

Actually it’s important to note that I was actually named Dekreel after a historian who had also survived being a Chasm Beast. Legend has it that he looked like a bipedal wolf with a cat’s tail……. So that drawing is what he would have looked like. And as I hadn’t drawn myself yet when I first joined KP, what better profile picture? X) Also I was named after I was rescued
