Hi everyone, I’m looking for an illustrator for a couple of children’s books I have written. I think this is the right place to do so…
Well, I don’t think I know anyone well enough to tag, but if you are reading this and you know someone or someone who might know someone else – could you do the tagging for me?
Thanks.

January 5, 2018 at 4:00 pm #59061I have a friend who’s an artist/illustrator, but she’d probably charge a little for doing something like this. It also depends exactly what you’re looking for.

January 5, 2018 at 4:04 pm #59062Try @mariposa! She’s an amazing artist, and I think she has done illustrating before!
You can pronounce it however you want.
January 5, 2018 at 4:38 pm #59068@rochellaine What kind of illustrations are you looking for? Simple drawings or more detailed? Cartoon or realistic? Do you know when you’d need them? Also, are you looking for paid illustrations or free? You can view my work on my blog. I have done illustrations before, but only for myself.
However, there are many other amazing artists here on the forum like @Christi-eaton @ethryndal @graciegirl @itisastarrynight @sage-g @cloudy @I-J-ANDERSON

January 5, 2018 at 4:55 pm #59071@mariposa Since they are for children’s books, they can be simple or detailed, and I don’t really have a preference for black/white or color, except that color would probably sell better. I don’t mind if the illustrations are a little cartoonish, though I like realistic better. The biggest negative about cartoonish drawings is that I cannot stand bug eyes. You know, the kind everyone seems to be doing these days. I think they’re ugly. 🙂
I would definitely pay for the illustrations, since I am planning on selling the books. I would rather pay a commission than a percentage, mostly because the former would be easier to organize.
I just viewed your work on your blog and I like it a lot. 🙂 Especially the coloring you use.

January 6, 2018 at 7:13 pm #59177I felt like I should respond to this since I was tagged by two different people. I’m glad to know you guys like my art. I’m actually beginning to illustrate my own children’s book so unfortunately, I don’t have time to take on another. @rochellaine I hope you find someone to work on this for you! Best of luck!

January 6, 2018 at 8:00 pm #59195@rochellaine lol, I was going to definitely suggest @mariposa too! Her drawing are soooo good!

www.jennaterese.comJanuary 8, 2018 at 10:53 am #59324Thanks @jane-maree, your friend’s work is really cool. I do think, however, that her style is more suited to a novel than a children’s book. (My opinion only, of course!) At least, it isn’t exactly the style I’m looking for.
Thank you for taking the time to answer, though.
