Kingdom Pen is a kingdom. Kingdoms typically have kings. (Please pause here to nod appreciatively at my observations. Sherlock would be proud.)
So anyway, I’ve heard a few things about the KeePers actually having a king, but I have never heard the story that originated that. (Basically the only thing I know is that it has something to do with Daeus.) Would someone be good enough to fill me in?

@cindygreen yup. It’s @Daeus. I think he offered free ice cream for the right to the throne or something… there have been several attempted insurrections by a certain *cough* other Chosen One and her fellow insurgents, but thus far free ice cream has won out.
