So for this book I’m working on there are some powerful swords. For now the Dragon Sword and the Da’Hathian Sword.
But for their powers…
Dragon Sword. (Orange)
Orange ball (I can’t detail for you guys cause it may spoil things)
Blast of orange light.

Da’Hathian Sword (Blue)
Glows blue.
Can make frogs happy.
Ice.

Basically I have two swords that need powers. Ideas?

@catwing you still have me at “can make frogs happy”. I literally have no idea what use that will be, but anyway.
Well, I have a magic sword that can’t be used by anyone but one of dragon blood. it electrocutes everyone else, so that’s pretty handy. Lots of books have swords that wield themselves. Um….
there are elemental swords too, that have different elemental powers. (e.g. ice, water, fire)
How about a sword that glows when orcs draw nigh?
I’ll let you know if I think of any other things. 😀

Green Sword (You can probably think up a more creative name 🙂 )
— Boomerang (can throw it and it will circle back)
— Poison spell
— Fog (for cover)

That’s the best I can think of… other than maybe a sword that can also heal.

You can pronounce it however you want.

Probably powers can only be willed by certain people.
The Dragon Sword could have fire powers… *ponders*
I don’t think my world even has orcs. *wonders if it should*

RO[Dragon Sword]Y G[Green Sword] BIV! Rainbow!
Red, Yellow, Blue, Indigo, Violet are left. I need more power ideas now. *grins* It’s perfect. Seven. The rainbow has seven colors! Yes!!! Thank you dekreel!

@catwing that’s true. Frogs can be pretty dangerous when they’re cranky. Hey…*ponders creating a fantasy world featuring giant, cranky frogs*
Well, Dragon Sword would make sense if it had fire powers. One of my WIPs has a Dragon Sword in it. 😀

If you want some random ideas, I have a few. A blade that burns organic materials. A sword that sings when good weather comes. A sword that absorbs sunlight and the wielder will see in the dark. I hope you find what you’re looking for!

@catwing it’s always the giant spiders or rodents or something, isn’t it? what about frogs, they deserve their place too!
Have you ever read Magnus chase? He has a sword that talks. Percy Jackson has one that disguises itself as a pen when he isn’t using it.

I love magic swords! Amber and Brendan have magical swords that can only be wielded by those of dragonblood. (Hey, what a coincidence!) They also sing when Eirs draw nigh. (Cool, huh?)

@catwing I remembered a sword in a kids tv series that showed you your opponents next move, so that you were always a step ahead of them.
