So, I had this story idea a while ago and I already outlined and began writing it. It is a story told from the perspective of a tree about the tree’s life. This tree is a tree in my brother’s backyard. They have four kids. I know I should change the names of the kids, and not mention the location, but is that enough? I just wanted to make sure for the protection of their family. So I would really appreciate input from anybody.

@salome01w4g OK. Will do. Thanks.
September 18, 2017 at 6:19 pm #43767@Emily yep what Hannah said basically. It should be fine because people won’t expect it to be a real life person, and if they do it’s a one in a billion chance that they know your brother.

I agree with what everyone else said. Just change the names of the kids and maybe just don’t mention the location at all. Also, you could make the family only have 3 kids, unless the 4 children is a main part of the story. πA dreamer who believes in the impossible...and dragons. (INFJ-T)
September 19, 2017 at 7:46 am #43824@Emily I agree. Few people would be expecting it to be anything more an a fiction story, so they won’t be looking for little details that might give away where they live. and even if they do work out the town/area, the likelihood of them working out the identity of your brother and nieces/nephews is pretty slim. but if you’re really concerned, ask him about it and get his advice, find out what he’s comfortable with.

@seekjustice I would do that, but they are all so precious I wouldn’t know which to exclude. XP Maybe I could add one?
@josiahdeboer No problem there! XP
@graciegirl @ingridrd @seekjustice @dragon-snapper @josiahdeboer Ok then! Thank’s everyone! -
