By Grace M.
The wind whirls
Curls
Shakes
Quakes
It pushes the seas
And causes the breeze
It flies the kites
And stirs the nights
It rustles the leaves
And carries the bees
It sways the tallest of towers
And swirls the rain in spring showers
It brings the sand across the beach
And nothing can escape its reach
It shoots up to the sky above
And clutches every lark and dove
We cannot see it
Touch it
Grasp it
Change it
No, we can’t see it move around
Or hear it make a piercing sound
If only we could hold it tight
We’d take a breath and take a flight
But we can’t choose where it will go
Or whether it brings rain or snow
We cannot guide its endless way
We simply must embrace its sway
Oooh I loved this a heap. <33
Awh!! Thanks, Jane!
AAIIEE. I LOVE THIS SO MUCH. It’s beautiful, Grace! It’s a wonderfully windy day where I live, too. Now I want to go run outside and spread my arms out and feel the wind. Goodbye, I’m off to do that. Thank you for sharing! 🙂
