      Sooo…

I realize that we have not used this part of the forum in a long while.

For the piano folks among us. What style do you play? I’ve heard classical music titles tossed around, so I’m supposing that’s probably it. Still, curious.

Personally, I play a mix of chord/gospel, classical, and hymnal styles. I’m not particularly proficient, but have grown quite a bit from my days of picking out Happy Birthday like a chicken. I don’t have a particular favorite. I love the freedom in chord/gospel styles, but find sheet/clasic music easier to understand. I generally try to play both styles at once as crazy as that sounds. Timing in chord sheets is just a little nightmarish. XD

Part of the problem is that my understanding of music theory is pretty basic, and mostly just brain knowledge instead of practice. (I did my courses in Gospel music several years ago. The Roman Numeral stuff might as well be Greek to me at this point.) I know I should probably be playing with a metronome, but I haven’t found an app that I like. Anyone have recommendations? Thoughts? Musical woes or victories?

This is the Music Section, afterall.
