Greetings people! š
In this role-play, you get to have a major family in 19th century England. Your characters can live in a large mansion, host dances and tea-parties, start drama with other families, and basically live like the people in Pride & Prejudice.
- Remember to follow the Forum Guidelines….
- Make sure to give a “name/age/appearance” for each character.
- (And… It might be a good idea if we give a brief description of the mansions, too…)
If there are questions, go on and ask them. (I am a bit nervous about starting a new RP for some reason… so if I’m missing something, that is why…)

@grcr I write a lot of WWII fiction XD
Alright @EVERYONE
here’s my family and their mansion (and they can host the first party if everyone is good with it š„°)
Heinrich Helmut Baumann
54 years old; about 6ā5ā
Gray hair, dark blue eyes, pale skin, tall with an average man build
Wears a typical suit and tie and stuff; black
Husband to Matilda; father to Felix, Hans, and Himmler
Stern, hard, stubborn, rude at times (not to guests, of courseā¦he must be polite then), abusive towards his sons, vain, prideful, hard-working, dedicated, loyal, obedient
Matilda Meredith Baumann
51 years old; about 5ā7ā
Graying blonde hair, coal eyes, pale skin, a bit above average height and average woman build
Wears an elegant dark blue puffy ball gown, white gloves that come up to her elbows, her hair up in curls, and silver heels
Stern, obedient, loyal, devoted, manipulative, controlling, kind when she wants to be, conniving, convincing (able to trick others into thinking sheās a kind woman when sheās not), dedicated
Felix Feliz Baumann
31 years old; about 6ā3ā
Blonde wavy hair, dark blue eyes, lightly tanned skin, tall and muscular
Wears a simple white button-up shirt with a red tied ribbon at the collar, a black opened jacket, black pants, and black boots
Protective, blunt, can come off as rude (and doesnāt really care), kind when he wants to be, loving towards his brothers, compassionate towards the less fortunate, angered pretty easily
Hans Theodore Baumann
28 years old; about 6ā0ā
Blonde wavy hair, coal eyes, lightly tanned skin, a little over average height and a bit more muscular than an average build
Wears a simple white button-up shirt with sleeves rolled up to the elbows (yeah, he doesnāt care one bit), black pants and black boots that come up to his knees
Protective, charming, flirtatious, convincing, deeply broken, loyal, devoted, hard-working, rude at times, dedicated, generous, silly at times, playful, easy going, optimistic at times; pessimistic at others
Himmler Heinrich Baumann
7 years old; about 3ā5ā
Curly brown hair, green eyes, pale skin, smaller than average and a skinny build
Wears a white button up shirt with a blue ribbon tied at the collar, a closed black jacket and vest, black pants, and black dress shoes (adorable š)
Silly, playful, jumpy, fearful, shy, quiet, kind, sweet, gentle, generous, can throw tantrums often (striving for love), funny, energetic
Their mansion is massive, a true feat of architecture. It encompasses several rooms, among which includes the kitchen, five bedrooms (three of which are guest rooms; Felix, Hans, and Himmler have to share a room), a massive dining room, a large ballroom, servant quarters (in the basement), several walk-out balconies, and has three floors excluding the basement.
The ballroom is on the first floor along with the kitchen, dining room, and parlors (for talking and stuff; one parlor, the main parlor, has a grand piano) bedrooms are on the second, and the third floor is extra rooms (like the painting room, library, etc.)

I literally created a whole new family just for this lol. I’m still nailing down the descriptions but so far this is where I’m at….
Meet the Thurman family:
Anderson, age 52, is a successful and wealthy judge. He has become absorbed in his reputation and that of the Thurman family, and as a result has become emotionally distant from his family. He has standards and expectations for his family that they sometimes struggle to maintain. He has graying hair and sideburns, a few wrinkles on his face, and brown eyes.
Sybil, age 48, has tried to fill in the gap her husband created by doting on her children, but she longs for the days she once knew when she and Anderson were in love, before he got absorbed in his success and status. She still has curly chestnut hair and hazel eyes, and a sweet, hospitable disposition.
Hudson, age 22, looks a lot like his father, only younger, with brown hair and brown eyes. As the oldest son, he’s expected to go into law like his father, but he wants to study medicine and become a doctor. He’s currently studying law, but knows he’ll have to make a decision sooner or later. He’s afraid to go against his father’s wishes and be a disappointment.
Adeline, age 19, has dark brown hair and sparkling brown eyes, enjoying the stage of life she’s in as a young woman. However, she can no longer deny the problems at home when she finds herself falling in love with a young minister and fears her father will not approve of the relationship. {This is just my idea for this so far, it could change based on how things play out. I also had the idea that her father tries to arrange a marriage for her with someone else, so idk how that could be worked in.}
Bennett, age 16, is adventuresome and stubborn. He gets himself into trouble sometimes and is excited for the day when he can enlist in the army. He has his mother’s curly chestnut hair and hazel eyes.
Liliana, age 15, is the youngest and also looks like her mother, with the same hair and eyes. She’s a daydreamer, spending hours wandering in the garden, and still carries a hint of childhood with her at times, although she’s on the verge of womanhood as well. She knows all the servants well.
And speaking of the servants… I have Dudley as the elderly groundskeeper, middle-aged Samuel as the butler, and his wife Pearl as the cook/housekeeper, and then 18-year-old Maybelle as another maid. I haven’t really spent time developing them yet, so we’ll see what happens as I write, lol.
As far as the mansion/estate, I don’t really know how to describe it. It’s pretty large, and they have a beautiful garden, and the mansion has pretty much everything you’d expect to be in a mansion.
So yeah… that’s the Thurmans!

Oh and @EVERYONE
I forgot a few things.
First off, since this is in England, it’d be important to note that the Baumann family are German immigrants so they will have German accents on occasion
I don’t have any servants in mind, lol, so…they’ll just be random and everyone can make them up on the fly bc they have so many anyhow, lol!
September 26, 2023 at 7:29 pm #157248This sounds fun! I already have a whole giant family from the late eighteen hundreds, (9 people total), I will see if I have time to post them š
"Would you kindly...?"
September 26, 2023 at 7:48 pm #157249Sounds great! š
@freedomwriter76
Ooo great!! Aww Himmler! š
I don’t mind if you host the first party!
________________
I’m so excited!
I’m just going to use the Jeffersons from my WIP… so….
Walt Jefferson XXII:
- 47 years old
- 5’8″, silky jet-black hair, dolphin-blue eyes (more on the grayish end though…), pale skinned, fairly muscular,
- Wearing a brown short-fronted tailcoat, white linen shirt, white-ish slim-fit trousers, and black Hessian boots.
- Avaricious, considerably coldhearted, nice on the outside, history-obsessed… (his personality might have to develop as I go…)
Belle Ā Jefferson:
- 45 years old
- 5’4″, thick raven-black hair, dolphin-blue eyes, hourglass body…
- Wearing a white ball gown, mid-length white gloves, white high heels
- VAIN. VAIN. VAIN. Avaricious, somewhat cold towards Blair and Isabella…
Isabella Jefferson:
- 21 years old (Blair’s twin)
- 5’6″, silky black hair, monolidĀ dolphin-blue eyes, pale skin, thin lips, rectangular body shape…
- Wearing a lavender ball gown, white heels, and a sliver necklace with a Pink Star diamond in it.
- Sweet, caring, talkative, friendly…
- She desires to be near the ocean, and loves to ride horses. She is very good at painting.
And my boy Blair Jefferson:
- 21 years old (Isabella’s twin)
- 5’6″, thick jet-black hair, monolidĀ dolphin-blue eyes, pale skin, not very muscular…
- Wearing a dark green short-fronted tailcoat, white linen shirt, slim-fit beige trousers, and black Hessian boots.
- Quiet, seemingly cold on the outside,
- Loves to read and ride horses. He also loves fencing.
I’m not going to go over any servants because I’d have to think of them. I will introduce them as I go… I suppose.
The house:
It has two floors (subtracting the basement and attic), a large entry way, a fairly large ballroom (decked out in gold and such), ten bedrooms, two large libraries, and a portrait/art hall. There is also a drawing room, a formal dining room, and an informal dining room.
A staircase leads to the front door. One large deck overlooks the backyard, which has a huge pond. A path leads off to a stable with eight well-kept thoroughbred horses. Another path leads off to a large garden.
The basement is where all the servants are, so we could say that there are more bedrooms and such down there.
Other house note:
There are lots of statues and paintings of Belle around the house…

@mineralizedwritings @grcr Love the families!!! <3 @acancello ooh, can’t wait!!! š @trailblazer
I guess I’ll host the first party…everyone can come when they want š
Here we gooooooooo!!!!!
Felix
“Good and influential guests will be arriving for a party this evening…I expect everyone to do their best and be on their best behavior…do I make myself clear?”
Felix watched his father, knowing the instructions were for him and his brothers as much as they were for the servants.
Beside him, Hans shifted, uncomfortable from bruises no one could see. “Felix, do we have to-?”
Felix pressed a finger to his lips before his father even had the chance to hear Hans’ words.
Donned in beautiful apparel, Matilda stepped into the room, laying a gloved hand on her husband’s arm and pulling him away. “Come, Heinrich, darling…don’t you want to be ready for guests? They will be arriving soon. Boys,” Matilda click her tongue, “at least try to be on your best behavior.”
“They better do more than just “try”.” Heinrich muttered, walking with his wife to the large opening foyer.
Hans scooped seven-year-old Himmler into his arms and scoffed. “They think we do nothing right. Do you think Adinah’s parents have room for us at their house?”
Felix shook his head. “No, and we can’t go there anyhow…you know they’d come take Himmler back, and maybe you too…I couldn’t live with myself if something happened to either or both of you because I tried to run.”
“Maybe they’ll never find out…”
Felix gave his brother a look, and Hans grimaced. “Yeah…you’re right. They’d find out quick. Still, I think Adinah’s parents’ house would be better than this one…you seem to have nice in-law’s.”
“I do, but they’re already caring for Adinah and Leo for me…I wouldn’t want to have to ask them to do more. Now come on, we should go greet guests even if we don’t want to.” Felix said with a forced smile. He draped an arm around his brother’s shoulder and gently led him towards the door as their youngest brother buried his face in Hans’ shirt, shy as shy as could be.
Hans rubbed Himmler’s back gently and stood beside Felix, waiting for arriving guests.
September 27, 2023 at 12:41 pm #157274I don’t know if this is still posted… I edited it to change something and then it was gone… Sorry if it’s double sent…
@freedomwriter76
Alrighty! The Jefferson will arrive at the party!
Isabella
Isabella finished playing a song on the large piano in the drawing room and stood up. She paced around the room, but her eyes were locked on her brother. He sat at a desk writing a letter to someone. Writing, riding, and reading. Writing, riding, and reading. Will he ever do more than that?
She walked to where he was and looked down at the paper. Just what I thought. A letter to one of his friends. How could he write to people when we are about to visit people? He’s probably rushing the letter, anyway.
“Who are you writing to, Blair?” Isabella asked.
Blair looked up at his sister. He crumpled the letter and set it on the desk. He put his left hand on his forehead and said coolly, “I was writing to Flaz. I received a letter from him a while ago and I still need to respond back. Why do you wonder?”
“Why do I wonder? You’re writing to Flaz when you should be preparing for a party? Blair! Aren’t you excited?” Isabella laughed.
“I should be excited.” Blair said coolly. He slid out of the chair and walked to a window. He sighed and looked out at the front yard. A large carriage was in front of the mansion and four horses were being lead up to it.
“By the way it looks, we’re taking the carriage?” he asked.
Isabella turned around, “Of course we’re taking the carriage, Blair. You really think father would make mother walk any number of miles? What a silly idea.” I don’t know what Blair is upset about, butĀ hopefully he doesn’t ruin theĀ experience with hisĀ unenthusiasticĀ remarks.Ā “Why don’t we go walk in the gardens? I’m sure mother and father have quite some time before they are ready to go, and it may be nice to get some fresh air. What do you think?”
Blair glanced at his sister and pulled his hands out of his pockets. He looked around the room, and then out the window, and said, “Fine. I suppose we could walk a while.”
Exiting the front door, Blair and Isabella made their way to the gardens. Exotic flowers and other pretty plants made the area one of Isabella’s favorite places to spend the day. Blair, too, enjoyed the gardens and would occasionally be the one who cared for them. (despite having a hired gardener)
“So, Blair, is everything alright with Flaz?” Isabella asked to break the unwelcome silence. She looked off into the distance.
“Yes. He and his siblings are fine.” Blair laughed, “He says that he has been missing our company, and may visit sometime.”
“Oh hopefully not.” Isabella laughed. A long pause resumed the silence. The wind blew the trees, and sent a shiver through the girl.
“Say, Bella, let’s head back to the front. Father is probably ready to go by now.” Blair said.
“But it’s only been fifteen minutes?” Isabella looked into Blair’s eyes.
“You know fifteen minutes is a lot of time for father. He was probably ready five minutes ago.” Blair said coldly. IsabellaĀ released a sigh, and they walked back to the front of the house.
“Blair and Isabella.” Belle’s tantalizing voice called to the twins, “Where have you been?”
“In the garden, mother.” Blair said.
“We figured it would be nice to breathe in the fresh air.” Isabella added. Surely there is nothing wrong with that.
“Well.”Ā Belle breathed through her nose. Walt followed Belle out of the house. All of the Jeffersons loaded into the carriage. When the it began moving, Isabella felt her stomach become uneasy with excitement.
Sitting across from her brother, Isabella looked at Blair’s face. His sharp chin and slender nose, his angular brows… He looked undoubtedly like his mother.
“Father,” Blair looked into Walt’s eyes, “one of my friends is going to get ride of his two fine thoroughbred horses. I rode up Ā to view them and I’ve come to the conclusion that I want them. My friend says he will sell them to me, but I thought I’d ask you first.”
Walt looked at his son.
“Blair, why don’t we talk of that later.” Belle said, placing a hand on her arm.
“Yes mother.” Blair stared out the carriage window.Ā After a few miles of riding, the Jefferson carriage stoped in front of a large mansion, and they got out of the carriage.

@grcr It’s okay…that happens sometimes. š It deleted the first one anyhow, so you’re good <3
Hans
An elegant carriage, fitted with just as magnificent horses, stopped in front of their mansion.
A man stepped out of the carriage, helped by a servant, carrying himself with an air of superiority…chin held high, pride in blue-gray eyes…scrutinizing everything, perhaps to see if his own things were much better.
A woman stepped down beside him, carrying herself with even more pride than her husband, if that were possible, and following were a young woman and a young man. The girl seemed kind…even her face was kind.
With a smile, Heinrich and Matilda descended the front steps to greet the guests.
Matilda greeted the woman with a smile, almost instantly complimenting her fashion and her outward beauty.
Hans set Himmler down and followed after his parents, Himmler clinging to his leg, Felix beside him.
Heinrich clasped a hand on Felix’s shoulder and pulled him near, facing the man that had first stepped out of the carriage. “Oh, Walt, Belle, Isabella, and Blair…I would like for all of you to meet my sons. This is Felix, my oldest…Hans is the middle, and Himmler is our youngest.”
Himmler hid behind Hans’ leg, whimpering quietly.
“Now Himmler, that is no way to act around guests,” Matilda snapped, “oh please do excuse him…he has better manners than this.”
Felix gave a faint bow to the guests, rose back to his full over six foot height and smiled gently. “It is a pleasure to meet all of you…we’re happy to have you here as guests for our party this fine evening…Father, shall we retire inside for the time being?”
“That is precisely what I would suggest. Please, Mr. and Mrs. Jefferson…Miss Isabelle and Sir Blair, do follow us inside.”
The entire group went inside, and Hans watched his parents leave with Walt and Belle, but subsequently noting that Isabelle and Blair Jefferson hadn’t followed, he turned to the two of them with a smirk. “What, is this place not fancy enough for you?”
“Hans!” Felix cried. He turned to the two with an apologetic smile. “Excuse my brother, he can be a little…probing.”
Hans scoffed and scooped Himmler into his arms.
Himmler leaned against his chest and stuck a thumb in his mouth…maybe he was too old for it, but it made him feel safer, and that was all Hans asked for.
Himmler clutched the front of his shirt, and Hans had to fight back a grimace.
But he failed.
