Hi everyone!
Where to start… First off, I’m a Christian, who loves to write. I’ve been following the forums and articles here for a few weeks, and, well, here I am! I love anything with words, and I always dreamed of making an interactive website/blog for fellow writers/book writers to “hang out.” It would include book reviews, writing articles, critiques, and short stories. Sound familiar? I found this site through a comment on the rebelution, and the rest is history.
I write, read, and talk to my characters. (It’s so nice being able to be on a site where people can relate!) That’s a typical day for me. (With some school thrown in occasionally. Homeschooling rocks!) I mostly read and write fantasy, medieval books, and just plain novels. I am exploring short stories currently.
When I’m not doing those things, you can find me creating something artsy, playing the piano, cooking, or doing improv.I guess that’s it for now. See ya’ll around!

August 6, 2016 at 9:50 pm #15380@jess Welcome to the bestiest place on the internet! Hurray! I said it first (it’s kind of a weird competition around here).
And hurray for fantasy. I love writing fantasy. Are you working on anything right now?

August 6, 2016 at 10:05 pm #15384@jess welcome to Kingdom Pen the bestistes…Oh @hope beat me to it. *boohoo*
*ahem* KP is a great place for us writes. I have loved every moment that I’ve been on it. It was like what Reagan said once, “when you’re a writer that sets you apart, and being a Christian sets you apart even more” *It was something along those lines* 🙂I have never written proper fantasy. I like medieval and olden days. I love writing about animals, what about you?
You TALK to your characters?????? So do I. *jumps around for joy while squealing* Sounds like we have a lot in common. 🙂 *yay!*
No doubt I’ll be seeing you around.
NB (Note before) If you would like someone to write with you tag them in this topic. And I’m from Australia so when everyone is asleep in America I’m up and doing, so I can write “late” 😛
August 6, 2016 at 10:07 pm #15385Welcome, Jess. I’m so glad you found us.
Just by doing so, you have officially earned the right to bear the title Keeper of the realm of the pen, wear a cloak anywhere, and eat twice as much chocolate as the average American.
Hey, yeah. Tell us about your writing projects.

August 6, 2016 at 11:49 pm #15389@hope, (I think that is how the handle works?) Thanks for welcoming me! I am happy to be at the bestiest part of the internet! I’m currently working on a fantasy trilogy, a novelette, am in the process of editing a short story, and am working on approximately 7.6 billion other ideas! I tend to work best when I can skip from project to project. Oh and I read one of your novellas on amazon and loved it! I have started on the next. 🙂
@bluejay, Yes I love writing animals. Especially dragons. And horses. It’s kind of hard for me to write without automatically trying to place a dragon into the plot! 🙂 I find that my characters can be very talkative! It’s nice to know I’m not the only one who carries on a conversation with imaginary people! *claps hands excitedly* I wish I could visit Australia! My parents went once, but left me with grandparents. 🙁 I have periodic mild insomnia, so I can post kind of late too! I get most of my ideas for writing at night anyway…
@daeus, I think I might take advantage of the chocolate privilege!August 7, 2016 at 8:34 am #15392Hey, @daeus, you’ve never told us that about chocolate! It was all ‘eat raspberries because they’re healthy’. *grabs more chocolate*
Thanks, @Jess. 😉 A fantasy trilogy! That sounds like fun. I’m working on my novellas, a fantasy novel, have several other fantasy novels…and a seven book fantasy series. 😉 I also have a futuristic trilogy I’m working on. Kind of. I’m only working on about two projects right now.

August 7, 2016 at 9:09 am #15393I am way too late to say this, but still, @jess Welcome to the BESTIEST place on the internet! @Daeus, why didn’t you tell me about wearing cloaks everywhere? I love cloaks!!! It has to do with my love of medieval fantasy as well. Speaking of which, Jess, I too am a medieval writer. Why does everyone write that so much?
Anyways, welcome to KP!

August 8, 2016 at 1:22 pm #15456Late to the party as usual (that’s what happens when you’re gone for 19 days).
@Jess Nice to meet you! Welcome to the coolest place for writers ever. 😉
I ask this question of everyone who joins KP (unless, of course, it’s already been asked) and it’s a very, very important question, so, in keeping with tradition, what are some of your favorite books?August 8, 2016 at 5:41 pm #15463@gretald -mm,let me think… I like Chuck black books, J.R.R. Tolkien books (is there anyone who doesn’t?) Please don’t anyone answer that if you don’t! 🙂 I also like Girl of the Limberlost, which is an oldie. The Ranger’s apprentice is another favorite. ..
And my favorite book of the Bible is Revelation. 🙂August 8, 2016 at 8:05 pm #15473Hi @jess! Glad you’ve joined us here!
What’s one of your favorite characters that you’ve written about? 🙂 (and had a one on one convo with of course!)https://rolenahatfield.com/
August 8, 2016 at 9:02 pm #15483@Jess ah, Girl of the Limberlost! Have you read Freckles? Or Laddie? Or The Harvester? Or Her Father’s Daughter? Gene Stratton Porter is so good in so many ways.
August 8, 2016 at 9:42 pm #15490@rolena-hatfield Ooh, hard to say. Probably a twenty-ish girl named Kate. @kate-flournoy (I seem to always name a character “Kate.” It’s kind of sad, but I love the name and its variations. I need to get more original!) She lives in a futuristic society, and is brave and witty. She can carry on a nice conversation, but tends to be a bit sarcastic. 🙂
I have read Freckles, but none of the others. (I’m going to go look them up now!) My favorite is Girl of the Limberlost,I love the character development throughout the story!August 10, 2016 at 6:19 pm #15560@Jess, Ohh, I’ve heard of Chuck Black, but I’ve never read any of his books. I’ll have to add his books to my very, VERY long TBR list… 😉 Haha, I don’t know of anyone who doesn’t like J. R. R. Tolkien (I’m a huge fan, so no worries there!). I’ve heard of Ranger’s Apprentice, too. I’ll also add that to my list. 🙂
You’re a fellow fantasy-lover, aren’t you? 😉August 10, 2016 at 7:31 pm #15569@gretald, Oh yes, I’m a big fantasy-lover! It’s so hard to find clean fantasy without lots of dark magic though! 🙁 As for Chuck Black, his second series for youth is the best. I think its “The Knights of Arrethrae.”) Have you read The Silmarillion by Tolkien? I was contemplating reading that next…
