I have an idea and as it is for you guys, I thought I’d found out if anyone is for it before I start. My sister does this spelling book, were she has a list of twenty words. As one of her projects she has to write something (generally a paragraph or two) using as many words as possible. The words are pretty random and sometimes impossible to work together. But she has come up with some great stuff and I have even written a story off one of her works.
So this is what I was think: Once a month I print the list of twenty words here. You people take them and head off and write, just a paragraph or so if you want. When the month is up (or before) if you want you can post them in new forum topic which I will create if you want to do it. That way other people can read them, and *if you do post them* they might get a new story idea. *I think we will make it, if you post them, anyone can use them*
Otherwise I can just put the lists under my “private” posting area. (Not sure what it’s called. But you can find it by clicking on me.)
Well, what’s the verdict to be???? To be or not to be, that is the question.
*stares at post* Guess I’d better submit this so you can all answer it tomorrow. Goodnight. 🙂

Hm… this does sound like an interesting challenge. But unfortunately I probably wouldn’t be able to do it— I write only in the evenings and all day Saturday, and I have an eleven book series and a steampunk/scifi and several other novels to write before I’m twenty… 😛 Actually the goal is write before I’m married, which to the best of my knowledge won’t be anytime in the foreseeable future, but twenty sounds about right anyway. 😉

All that to say, I don’t really have much time for extra projects beyond an occasional quote challenge no longer than fifty something words. 😉

It’s a very interesting idea though.

          Hey @Bluejay!
I love new words, and one small word can get an idea going for me! I will definitely use these lists; although I never thought of using them in this way, I think that this is a great idea. Go for it!

@bluejay That sounds neat, but like Kate, I’m trying not to take on too much extra writing.

Speaking of which, just how do you plan to write 4-5 books a year, @kate-flournoy? That and, oh dear … you don’t mean … oh dear.

                @Daeus what don’t I mean?

And honestly I don’t know. I’m so desperate I’m going to try outlining to see if it’ll speed up the process. 😛
I tend to set myself impossible goals, in case you hadn’t noticed. *hysterical laughter*

@kate-flournoy. Ha! That so terribly desperate. 😉

Your goal vaguely suggested that any marriage would end your writing career … as sad thought. Made me bite my nails. Now the fact is, I do that anyways … but still.

@Daeus oh! Ha— no. I don’t think anything could ever do that. But I do want to get this batch of ideas out of the way at the very least.

I know. *dramatic sigh* I’m such a desperate, dangerous person. 😉

@kate-flournoy Oh, good. Unfortunately, you may still have a truckload of books arrive at your doorstep on single living, but hey *shrugs* I’m too lazy to cancel the order.

Wow! Those are some cool words, and I have an idea of what I’m going to do already. Together, we can blow away the world with awesome spelling paragraphs and stories…
Seriously though, I’ve been having some bad writers block and this is going to be a good exercise to get me going again. Thanks!
Bad spellers of the world, untie!

This a short, short story I wrote using the words. I have put them into bold so that they are easier to spot out.

                          @Bluejay

                          The Beige Briefcase

A dog sat at the bottom of the stairs, watching his completely crazy humans maneuver around the moving-boxes strewn all over the floor. Why exactly did they have to move again? The old house was perfect, and no one had to worry about decision making and losing chew toys.
He wondered if the box full of perfume would be tasty, as he was feeling rather feisty at the moment. But, seeing the fierce looks of his people, he thought it best not to experiment. Instead, he sat politely and looked sadly as his owners broke out into an argument for the thirtieth time in a row. What now?
“Where’d you put it?” shouted Human 1.
“It doesn’t matter! It’s just a small suitcase.” replied Human 2 passingly.
“Yet, it does! It holds the recruits for those liable to become lieutenant–something tells me you don’t quite appreciate the weight of the situation.”
“I do, but we have to preserve the information we already saved. We can’t go back for anything else…not ever your beige briefcase.”
The dog’s ears perked up. Beige Briefcase? That was the suitcase that smelled like the color red; the baggage that had been put inside another bag to keep it form getting lost? Where they looking for it?
As both humans stormed off, he had the weirdest idea. Well, perhaps not weird, but it was a new idea nonetheless. Before he had to think it through, he dashed towards the luggage littering the living room and started to tear open the first bag that came to his path. Only clothes. And the next was no good either, only papers and manila folders, neither of which tasted very good.
A half hour passed by, and nearly all of the cases were ripped and torn open. The living room was a wreck, which is saying something considering the size. Only one duffel bag was left unscathed amongst the trashed clothes, papers and chew toys.
The dog’s ears twitched; his humans were coming back. He sat down and wagged his tail so hard it swept the dusty floor clean. It stopped wagging when Human 1 stood open-mouthed at the living room, “Max!”
At the volume of her voice, Max gauged her to be at a level 10 anger level. “Bad do! No biscuit!”
She walked over to the duffel bag and ripped it off of the floor as if the ground were on fire. A zip could be heard as she yanked open the bag. With a gasp, she pulled out the Beige Briefcase.
                          “John!”
Human 2 came running. “What’s wrong?”
“Nothing. Look, can you believe it? Max found my briefcase!”
“What? Hey, good dog!” and they gave him a biscuit.

@bluejay, I think this is a great idea! I don’t have tons of time for extra writing, but two to three paragraphs will every now and then will fit in my schedule nicely. I’ll work on it tonight and try to post it tomorrow.
