I’d be obliged to share more.

Scarlet Eliza Azevedo is a 19 year old girl who is obsessed with pirates. She reads books on the topic, fantasizes about the life of pirates, and longs for freedom

(and who should be the first to greet me on Kingdom Pen but Freedom herself)

                What coincidence

                Well anyway

She lives in Savannah, Georgia and the year is 1823. Scarlet is the daughter of a merchant sailor. He has taught her all of his skills
                How to
                identify constellations
                tie knots
                sail
                read maps
                sword fight
But one day her father is thrown into debtors prison. For what she doesn’t know. It is up to her to solve this mystery and to save her father from prison.☠️

It is still very much a wip.
I’m struggling to find a plot.

                  @she-is-a-pirate

Welcome to KP! I’m TheArcaneAxiom. I like math, searching for divine fundamental truth, and implementing that in my writing. I enjoy sci fi/fantasy and my WIP consists of a little bit of both.

                  Questions:

If pirates is your thing, do you like the more modern dramatized picture, or do you like to study actual history about pirates, and how that differs from what we typically think of them? Perhaps both?

Is your WIP a pirate themed historical fiction, or does it contain fantasy elements? If you do include fantasy, do you like hard or soft worldbuilding? (Hard meaning a more rigorously defined world, while soft meaning more open ended possibilities. I would assume the latter in this case for things like pirate adventure, is that right?)

                  Where has the rum gone?

                  And last but not least:

How do Pirates get to the letter R all the time, when their always stuck at C?

He is perfect in Justice, yet He is perfect in Mercy, even when we fail Him. For this, He is good.

                    Question first:
Both. I love to study the history of pirates. (which is why I am giving my protagonist that trait)
I really recommend Republic of Pirates to anyone who be interested. But I also love the classic portrayal of pirates just as much.

                    Question 2:
It is a historical fiction just because I love history. Although my friend Awsum Faith (you can find her on kp) is writing a fantasy novel which contains pirates. She based one of them on me and I am forever honored.

                    Question 3:
                    Hard world building

                    Question 4:
I may or may not have drunk it all. Sorry, mate.

                    Question 5:
                    Haha

                      @she-is-a-pirate

Hello and welcome! I have never met a real pirate in my life and I am greatly honored. *drops a curtsy* I’m Felicity, a homesteader, follower of Jesus and a lover of writing. 😉

Your WIP sounds a lot of fun to write! I like writing Historical fiction as well, but more recently I’m trying my hand at contemporary.

Following with the tradition around here, I will now ask you a few questions, if you don’t mind:

What angers a pirate? or rather, What is the best way to stay on a pirate’s good side?

Do you have a parrot, or a side kick of some kind?

And last but not least, how/when did you start writing?

I started writing stories with my siblings when I was eight-ish, and have loved it ever since, but not until a few years ago have I started pursuing writing as a career option.

Hope you have smooth sailing around here!

He must increase, but I must decrease.

The pleasure be all mine, Felicity

Question first: Rum. Rum is good for getting yerself on a pirate’s good side. But Scarlet Azevedo don’t take much to drinkin’ and would rather keep ‘er wits about ‘er. Prove to her ye be loyal and that’s all she needs, but accomplishing that be a hard task, mate.

Question 2: In my book or in real life. If in the book Scarlett doesn’t have a pet, but there is a ship cat who Mr. Griggs (the master o’ arms) named Jacob. He’s a good mouser and he’s a orange
                        and white striped tabby.

Question 3: I only started thinking of writing seriously when I was but 16. However I think I’ve been writin’ me whole life.

                            1. Ah, I see. Thanks for the advice. I will certainly keep rum and loyalty in mind when dealing with pirates.

                            2. Well, both I guess. 😉 Do you have any pets in real life? My family has a dog and a flock of chickens, which includes four mostly friendly roosters.

                            3. Awesome!

Welcome to the wonderful crew here on Kingdom Pen!! Now KP had an official pirate. We should be honored. 😁

I’m Esther: a volleyball-playing, violin-squeaking, dog-obsessed, homeschooled, God-loving, amateur writer!! My WIP is dystopian YA.

                                  Now for some questions!!

                                  1. What is the name of your ship that you sail on? (Cuz every pirate has one, right? XD)

                                  2. Who is your favorite OC (original character) to write and why?

                                  3. If you could visit any country, where would it be and why?

Nice to meet you and see ya around!! 😄
