A rustling wind, a shuddering chill, a woodpeckers knock on your windowsill…

Fall
Fall’s my favourite over all other seasons
And for that, there’s several simple reasons.
The air smells so cold and crisp.
The wind’s whispers drive leaves into drifts
I can wear cozy sweaters without getting hot
A book and mug of black tea just hit the spot.
With school back in session, there’s better routine.
Each dawn everything’s dusted with a frosty sheen.
Creature’s coats grow more glossy and thick
Fallen leaves create a flowing rainbow in the creek.
Its a time for all types of freshly baked goodies
With nights of games and nostalgic good movies.
Catching up with faraway friends on video chats
Sharing our struggles, old memories, and updates.
Harvesting heaps of various fruits and vegetables.
An abundance of colour adorns the kitchen table.
The comfort of feeling the wood furnace’s warmth
Whilst outside a deep chill creeps down into the earth.

there where a few places that didn’t quite rhyme quite right but overall I LOVE it!

Yes! I like woodpeckers (even though they can be very destructive) they are very pretty!
[I wrote this poem (in bed) at a family friends house and they had a lot of woodpeckers.]
