      So, for all of you that I promised to share this with, here it is! I’m honestly thrilled with how it turned out. (In fact, I was thrilled even better I started it, because I found some reference pics that were perfect! But still, I’m even more happy with this, because it’s him not someone who looks like him.)

      Unfortunately, I didn’t have the best lighting, but I think it’s fine. (It’s just that the photographer’s daughter in me is throwing fits. šŸ˜‰ )

      And since I liked this, y’all may get bombarded with a whole host of character portraits in the upcoming months…

      But anyway, here is Viktor Mynclais.

                    Thank you! I’m really glad you like his hair; I like the front, but I had difficulties with the rest. I saw a picture of a young boy praying, and I had to draw Amichai like that: it’s so like him.

                        @elishavet-pidyon Oh my word I love it!! That is SO good! The pose is fantastic and his facial expression šŸ„ŗ (also, this is just me because I am no great artist but the detail and shading on the cloak is amazing :D)

                        I have no special talent. I am only passionately curious.

                            He looks so great! You draw noses so well! XDĀ Ā  Probably one of the ultimate challenges of drawing, especially when your drawing in a more realistic style like that. The way the drawing “ends” works really well! Sometimes it’s hard to find a way to fade it out when just drawing the top half of somebody.

                            What is his personality like?

                              @elishavet-pidyon WOW! I really like him! The hair is incredibly realistic, this almost looks like a photograph šŸ˜Æ I love how subtle but effective the shading is, and the nose is so realistic and HOW did you do the cloak?!

                                Thank you! I’m thrilled that you like it.

                                We definitely agree on his expression.Ā My sweet, thinking laddie…

                                (Thank you again! I’m not really a great artist either, but I try. šŸ˜‰ This is what I’m good at drawing, but horses? Oh no. XD I’d enjoy your comments anytime. And so glad you like his cloak! I like drawing clothing like that, since it helps with shoulders, which are a continual downfall, strangely enough.)

                                @keilah-h

                                Thank you!!!!! You may regret saying that… just kidding. I won’t spam too much. XD

                                I have to draw them first, for one. šŸ˜‰

                                @mineralizedwritings

                                Thanks!

                                Ugh, yes. Noses can be a pain. However, with enough practice, even the hard parts work out.

                                *Decides not to mention the many years all my drawing had no noses for that reason*

                                But now I kinda like drawing them. It’s all a balance of proportions…. (Yeah, my sisters can testify to my stress on proportions. When I get them wrong…. *Very rueful laugh*)… And of what you draw and don’t draw. Lol!

                                I’m glad you like that too. It just kinda happened this time, (thankfully) but I know exactly what you mean.

                                Well, good question. His personality type is INFJ-T, so he can be quiet, rather pensive at times, but ready to stand up for those he loves or sees as needing a little help. And don’t let his quiet demeanor make you think he’s without a sense of humor, because while he may be serious, he can laugh. Hard.

                                I think that’s a good sketch, but I don’t know. Does it make sense? I love him, but sometimes he’s hard to explain. But isn’t that the way it is with most of our characters?

                                @ava-blue

                                Thank you so much!! It means a lot to know that someone thinks it’s that accurate/detailed.

                                Ok, if you really want to know, the cloak was done, first by drawing the outlines (his shoulder and the space between it and his neck), then working in the edges (the corner that’s pinned up, and the folds), then shading to give shadow, shape, and thickness. (Or try to. Lol.) I actually used a reference photo of a cloak, copying where the lines of edges and creases were and shading where there was shadowing.

                                I don’t know if that made sense, but thank you for asking! I don’t think my techniques are professional, but if you ever want advice/ideas, I’ll be glad to try to help! I love your drawings, (your profile pic is my favorite, I think. It’s just really sweet.) especially the way you work with color. That’s one thing I haven’t figured out, quite. What do you like to use?

                                  • Oh I totally get that. There’s a reason when I draw Chibis they always have there hands in their pockets šŸ˜‚šŸ¤£. And aww love that although he’s shy he sticks up for those he loves.
