      Hey, y’all!

I need a character to help another come to Christ. These are always really hard for me, so your help would be very appreciated.

So the character who needs to come to Christ is named Thorald (for now). He’s a villain and he’s done much to hurt Richard (the guy who’s trying to convert him). Thorald hurt both Richard and his fiance A LOT and nearly had him killed. Richard forgave him and is trying to help him convert before Thorald dies (he had twenty minutes [tops] left to live). Thorald has been struggling with doubts about his purpose lately and his conscience has been bothering him.

The scene is written from Thorald’s perspective.

Do you guys have any ideas on how to start their conversation?

      Thanks sooooo much.

@pen_for_christ205. Hey! Good to see you!

        First off, great question.

        Second, I love that story.

And Third, let’s see if I have any advice to give. 😉 Alright, so, Thorald has done some horrible things.

I have a few questions about that to help you think. (I hope these help)

Do those horrible things now give Thorald regrets?

Is Thorald afraid of dying? (most people are, when they don’t have Christ, or sometimes even if they do. But really think about why death does or doesn’t scare him. And, if Thorald is afraid of dying, maybe he could tell Richard that.)

Has Richard already told him he forgave him? (because, if he hasn’t, he might want to say something)

If Richard has/does tell him he forgave him, how does that make Thorald feel? (because, for my MC’s of Freedom’s Fire when Leon tells Riker he forgives him, Riker falls to his knees and asks “Why?” That’s for the final scene (other than a possible epilogue) where Riker is converted. But first, Leon had to forgive. And Riker had to hear that he forgave him. Riker felt unworthy of forgiveness and was also very confused. He thought he deserved nothing less than Hell itself. But Leon forgave him. How does Richard forgiving him make Thorald feel? Confused? Unworthy? Maybe a mixture of emotions? Really dig down deep into how Thorald feels about being forgiven.)

Maybe Richard could start the conversation with asking how Thorald is doing.

Or maybe Thorald, if he is, can say he’s terrified of dying.

Maybe it starts with Thorald apologizing for what he did.

Maybe Richard just starts the conversation by saying “I forgive you”.

Those are only a few questions/ideas to get your mind thinking. I hope I helped at least a little, but, since I don’t know too much about your characters, I did the best I could. 🙂

All the best of luck to you! I can’t wait to see Thorald redeemed. God Bless! <3

(I’m sorry, I forgot I never responded [why does my brain do this to me?])

Hi! *Enthusiastic wave* good to see you around.

Freedom’s advice is probably better than anything I could give, especially as I’ve never written a conversion scene.

And I will probably be referring to her list myself. =)
