Hello! My name is Evelyn and I am new here. I have been posting on the forum, but I thought I should probably introduce myself. I will do so by listing random facts.

I love dogs. I think swords are awesome. I play the flute. I’m learning the organ. I LOVE writing! I read. A LOT. Fantasy is my jam. Also sci-fi. Sometimes I get crazy ideas from my dreams (seriously, why is my subconscious so weird?). I have read J.R.R. Tolkien, C.S. Lewis, etc. I like fairy tales and mythology and folklore. I want to learn many languages, but am not good at applying myself to them.

We're all stories in the end. Just make it a good on, eh?

Greetings @e-m-trepke! I am Power or the Black Mongoose for short.

You think swords are awesome hu? So, what is your favorite sword?

I am also a big reader of sci-fi and fantasy. What are the names of some of your favorite sci-fi/fantasy books?

You will love what you spend time with.

          Why, hello there, @power.

Favourite sword? How can one decide?

Favourite sci-fi/fantasy books? How can one decide that either? Ok… let’s see. I will write a list of some that I have read.

The Lord of the Rings, The Hobbit, most of the Silmarillion, 5 books of The Wheel of Time, almost all of the Shannara books, The Chronicles of Narnia, The Space Trilogy (by C. S. Lewis), several Star Wars books by Timothy Zahn, Foundation (I need to read the rest of the Foundation books!), etc.

Now, what books are on my soon-to-be-read list?

Dune, the rest of the Silmarillion, The Princess Bride, … etc.

I also have been reading many classics recently.

What about you? What genre do you like to read? What are some of your favourite books?

We're all stories in the end. Just make it a good on, eh?

            @e-m-trepke

Oh hello there, nice to ‘formally’ meet you! I am Koshka around here, I would rather not have a dog, and I’m sort of learning violin (that’s currently on hold as I wait for a new instrument).

Swords? They can certainly be beautiful weapons, but I prefer archery (particularly traditional Turkish horse, although I don’t have a horse).

I also enjoy languages, and am learning Russian and Gaelic. What are you/would like to be learning?

(My dreams are also strange, especially ones influenced by books. Thankfully I rarely remember them)

I like some fantasy, but I haven’t read much sci-fi. Classics! I’ve read so many old books/authors I don’t remember them all. (Warning: Chanterbury Tales frankly isn’t for everyone)

              Hello, Koshka!

I hope you get a violin soon! I completely understand your position… my flute-playing is on hold until I buy a new flute.

I do love archery too! I’ve always wanted Susan’s quiver. Archery is great because I actually know how to do it (and own a bow), so it is a bit more attainable than sword fighting.

I have been reading a lot of classics. I agree about Chaucer— I only read the Knight’s Tale, and that was ridiculous enough! A lot of classics are fantastic, but there are some I wish I never read.

Languages I want to learn… ok. Currently I am learning French, but I want to learn German, Russian, Greek, Hebrew, Latin, Haïtian creole, Spanish, Portuguese, Irish, and Polish. I’m not sure if I will actually get around to learning all of those!

I agree! I’ve read so many books that I can’t remember all the ones I’ve read!

Do you like reading funny books?

We're all stories in the end. Just make it a good on, eh?
