A New Year

A new year has now come,

I will use it to serve God’s Son.

Of my life the next part,

As God keeps shaping me like art.

My resolution is

To show the world that I am His. 

I Resolve to live each day

To more fully pursue His way. 

Trying times are coming, 

Through each, the Lord brings comfort. 

In all, He will shine bright,

Bringing light to our world’s dark night.

His Spirit within me

Brings peace and hope continually.

In awaiting His return,

Let my eyes, to the sky, be turned.

Doing the Father’s work,

May my hands do things of lasting worth.

Wherever I may go,

To my feet, a path may He show.

It is my desire

That my heart ever be on fire.

Let my mind ever be

Praying that more His glory see.

I will start this year bold,

All His wondrous plans will unfold.

Wherever I will be,

At work, home, church, or by the sea;

Whatever I am doing,

Be I singing, talking, or working;

Let it all be driven

To glorify the Lord in Heaven.
