I really love the articles on KP’s blog and they’ve been very helpful, so here I am, with an account, here…

Hello everyone, you can call me Lobster. Technically I’m a 15 yr old girl but I’m more a child at heart, who never fails to be impressed by the work and artistry of the Almighty Creator.
I’m an INFP-T, like lobsters (as you can tell), exploring aesthetics (especially cyberpunk and steampunk), character design, and daydreaming about character interactions. My favourite genres are slice-of-life, coming-of-age, mystery, historical and speculative fiction. A good ship is also nice though I’m not so keen on the romance genre itself. I’m pretty friendly and love drawing other ppl’s characters so don’t be afraid to ask.
I know basically nothing about writing, since the only stuff I’ve done is for school and one oc fanfic that has some awful pacing, but as of late I’ve begun to suffer from ‘too many story ideas-itis’. I have two main projects I’m working on, both of which I plan to turn into web comics. I hope we can all learn and grow together as writers and Christians.
P.s: Please ask me lots of questions; I’m an insufferable chatterbox (and somehow also an introvert) who could ramble on for days.

Greetings to you Lobster Lover. I am Power or the Black Mongoose, whichever you prefer. We (If you desided to use both aliases) heartily welcome you to KP, and hope you have a blast. I (If you desided to use one) don’t believe mongooses live in lobster territory which is probably the reason I can remember ever sinking my teeth into one of the crunchy critters (though I’ve heard that they can be snappy at times), but I have had crab, and if lobster is anything like they’re scrumptious deliciousness I get why you have a fondness for their tenderness.
p.s. Don’t ever try to drink after a pig. It’s not worth it. They tend to backwash. Now I need to go find some water to wash my mouth out with. 😉

I mostly take inspiration from places like anime and video games, but on the side of literature, my favourite authors would be Louisa May Alcott, G.K Chesterson, C.S Lewis and Hans Christian Andersen. My favourite books are Little Women, The Little Prince, Howl’s Moving Castle and Wonder. Hopefully when the pandemic lifts I’ll be able to read more books.
I’d love to try drawing your character! Character design is one of my passions and I could always get some more practice on it, so send away!
If you don’t mind, I’d like to ask you a question too. What are your music tastes like? Do you have any favourite genres or bands? Mine is kinda all over the place depending on what mood I’m in. I’ve listened to Jazz, Lofi, Indie folk, EDM, Christian rock, and countless others I forget the name of. My favourite artists are Owl City, Nine Lashes, and Scandroid (at least for now)

I haven’t yet but I’m planning to draw Laurie and/or Jo from Little Women soon, which I’ll probably post here. (If it’s not too much trouble, I’d really love to see your drawing of Hanna; Jane Eyre’s definitely high up on my reading list)
Ooh that’s a hard one. I’ve seen a lot of videos of Fennec Foxes on youtube, and they’re soo cute. But then again, if I had more space, and he was real, I wouldn’t hesitate to adopt Toothless from Httyd. Choices, choices…
I did mention a few of my favourites in another reply, but all-time favourite? It’d probably be The Little Prince, it has such a whimsical tone to it, and despite being children’s literature, it’s has a surprising amount of depth and wisdom in it.
I much prefer cold weather, especially at night. I love snuggling into warm blankets while the world outside freezes around me. When it’s hot I just feel…bleh. (Maybe I’m just biased since I’m currently suffering through a week-long heat wave)
I haven’t had jelly beans in a while. They’re ok, but when given the choice between them and gummy snakes, I’d take the gummy snakes any day.

You like G. K. Chesterton? His essays or his books? I love his essays, especially Twelve Men, The Dragon’s Grandmother, and the one about his pockets (the latter I quote not unfrequently.).
Anyway…. Questions.
What is your favorite book in the Old Testament? (Mine is Isaiah)
What would you do if you were trapped by the villain of one of your book ideas, and how would you likely have trapped by said villain? (If you have a villain. Some of mine don’t.)
Is there any out dated weapon you wish you knew how to use. (Or any that you do know how to use?)
Who is your favorite character from either your book ideas, or a favorite book?

Tag me if you post it on KP! My favorite character was always Beth, but Jo definitely comes next, and Laurie’s somewhere up there too. Jane Eyre is interesting. Some of my family love it, and I enjoyed it, but it’s not one of my favorites.
No trouble worth mentioning. Actually, thank you for a good laugh. I drew this two years ago, so the proportions are rather… Off. XD (Oh, and apparently I got her name confused [Helen not Hannah] as it’s been a while since I read the book). I also found Clara (Children of Newforrest) and Ginevera (Sir Gibbie) which I had completely forgotten about drawing.
A Fennic fox would make a terrifically fun pet, and while I’ve never seen HTTYD I do know who Toothless is (and his character). That is a hard choice.
Hmm, I can’t say I’ve heard of it. Who is it by? Good children’s literature should be deep enough for adults to enjoy.
Being able to bury oneself deep beneath the covers without sweltering… Oh, it’s wonderful. Right now we’re in a cold front, but as I live in Texas that’ll change soon enough. *Sigh* We have unpredictable weather.
And If I was given the choice between jellybeans and nothing, I might eat a couple. Maybe.
Oy, that’s a hard question. I love all of those so much. Let’s see…
Plotting: hmm, if I know where the story is going then an 8, but if I’m working out a plot-hole, 2-5 depending on if I have someone to help and the depth of the hole.
Fleshing out characters: before writing, 9. During, 6. For some reason I struggle writing down the stories I’ve created, so when anything comes to words it drops pretty low on my favorites list.
World building: I like this, just not as much as character building, so 7. But then, is not world building an integral part of character development? It is where my charries live.
Research: Oh can I score this high enough? Probably not, so I’ll put a 10. I tend to spend most of my writing time delving into randomness.

I haven’t actually read any of G. K. Chesterton’s essays, but you make them sound really interesting, so I’m quite tempted to. I’d guess I’d have to say his books then, specifically the Father Brown series and The Man Who Was Thursday (which I have yet to finish). My teacher really likes Chesterton, which is how I got introduced to him.
My favourite Old Testament? It’d be a hard tie between Proverbs and Ecclesiastes. On the one hand, Proverbs has some really great, applicable advice, but on the other hand, Ecclesiastes is quite philosophical (and if you know me, philosophical stuff is my bread and butter).
On another note, do you have a least favourite book in the Bible? I wish I could say I liked every single one, but Leviticus single-handedly ended one of my attempts to read the Bible in a year.
*sobs in bad-at-making-interesting-villains*
Must I choose only one? There are so many crazy and cool-looking (if not somewhat impractical) weapons from the past, the possibilities are endless! I’d really like to own a cane sword, or a umbrella gun (yes they both exist) though I’m pretty sure it’s illegal to own both of them. I don’t know how to use any weapons, but I think one day I’d like to attend an archery class.
Augh, choices! Mmm, if I had to choose, I’d say Xenel. He’s a prince and the heir to the throne. He’s sensitive, polite, thoughtful, kind, and tends to repress his feelings due to constant pressure on him to be perfect. He secretly likes gardening and gets into sewing for plot reason, which contrasts his best friend, who’s a rebellious tomboy. I could go on for a while about him, but that’s the gist of his character.

I’ll definitely remember to tag you on that. I only finished Little Women a few weeks ago and could probably talk about it for days. While my main talent is drawing, like Amy, I think the March sister I’m the most like is Beth (though Beth is probably more perfect than me). My favourite character is definitely Jo; some of her lines are just so memorable and priceless, with Laurie coming at a CLOSE second.
For a 2 year old drawing, that’s really good. The eyes might be a little too close, but other than that, the proportions look good to me.
If you get the chance, I highly recommend watching How to Train Your Dragon 1 and 2 (and if you want, the 3rd one, though it’s not as good as the first 2 in my opinion). Those movies were my childhood, and they still hold up visually and writing wise now.
Btw, the Little Prince was written by this French guy named Antoine de Saint-Exupéry. It’s rather short, being a novella, but it does a lot with what words it has. I also recommend you check it out if you can.
If you think Texas is bad, imagine living in Melbourne. It’s infamous for it’s crazy weather, or as the locals like to say, “four seasons in one day.” For example, when I wrote my last reply it was sweltering, and as of now we’ve had two days of rain and it’s STILL sweltering. *sighs*
Oh plot holes are the worst! I’m currently neck deep in a big, and it’s honestly just depressing. I might make a thread about it if it gets any deeper.

Poor Amy! I don’t know why, but every time I think about her artist talent, the foot and plaster incident comes to mind. When I first read LW I was more like Jo, but now I don’t line up with any of them really. *Shrug* Jo’s lines were my favorite part of the book.

I’ve heard a lot of good things about them around here. My brother scanned through the book, but he said there was a lot of crude humor. I’ll have to look into them whenever I find the time.
So, I should probably find and read The Little Prince, if just to redeem French writing for me. I read Victor Hugo’s By Order of the King, and that about ruined my opinion of French prose. I know that sounds horrible, but seriously…
At least one has difficulty becoming bored with the weather. Unless it’s the randomness itself that becomes egregious. And no, rain refused to help against the heat. It just raises the humidity to breathable soup.
Ugh, yeah. I just climbed out of one recently, but I had to completely scrap a good part of my plotline. At least I hadn’t written much at all into that book, so all I need to rewrite is the first chapter. Of course, that was a plot hole I had been ignoring, so when it fell through- there went everything else.

So my main character, Maria, is actually half mermaid-half human, so do you think you could draw her as both? If not, then you can just draw her as a human. She has super long brown hair, blue eyes, long dark eyelashes, and she is fairly tall. She also lives in Florida, so she would be wearing shorts and a plain t-shirt. As a mermaid, she has a light pink tail, pink highlights in her hair, and a plain top. I would prefer the top to not be seashells and to not be too short if you can do that. Let me know if you have any more questions about her!
I mostly listen to Christian music. My favorite song artists are TobyMac, for King & Country, Mandisa, Tauren Wells, Jordan Feliz, KB, and others that I can’t think of right now. I also like listening to piano music, as I am a pianist myself. For piano, I like Yiruma, Jim Brickman, and Jon Schmidt. Owl City is a good artist, too.

Thanks for checking out my blog, too. I’m hoping to publish Daughters of the Sea sometime soon… but I just realized I have a lot of editing to do on it. Hopefully it will be ready by this summer.
