Kingdom Pen was founded in winter 2011 when a Christian teenager aspired to help young writers produce fiction that was more than clean and family friendly, but that was well written and meaningful.
Christians can write stories that resonate with and profoundly move people for the glory of God. Unfortunately, however, many Christian novels today are cliched and preachy. Authors are more focused on ramming the Gospel down readers’ throats than crafting authentic and beautiful stories that challenge Christians and non-Christians alike to rethink how they view the world.
We want to change that.
Christian Stories Could Be So Much More
What if a new generation of Christian authors arose who could write stories as powerful as great classics like Brothers Karamazov, The Chronicles of Narnia, or The Divine Comedy, but in ways that met our culture where it’s at?
What We’re Doing
We regularly publish articles about writing that cover everything from how to write a sizzling description to how to weave your faith compellingly yet subtly into your story.
We also offer several self-paced courses to help you take your writing to the next level. Check out the Courses tab to dive deeper into a specific subject.
We publish young adults who write exceptional articles, short stories, poems, or book reviews. Because we focus on spotlighting young writers, you must be 25 or younger to submit a short story or poem, but we accept book reviews and articles from writers of all ages!
Click on the Submissions tab to read our guidelines and learn how you can get published.
We host an active forum for young Christian writers who are eager to connect with like-minded folks. Many users have not only been encouraged as Christian writers, but also have grown by interacting with the different members of our community.
Participants must be 25 or under to join the forum. Click on Join Us under the Forum tab to fill out your application.
