@jenwriter17 Nope, I haven’t read that one yet. So far I’ve read 4 volumes of his sermons, John Ploughman’s Talk, and Around the Wicket Gate. 🙂

@mariposa I’ll have to check those out. Spurgeon’s morning and evening devotional is so good; my whole family’s been reading it for years and we still get things out of it.

              @rochellaine 😀 This is a great topic.

Not really an un-famous person, but:

It is the writer who might catch the imagination of young people, and plant a seed that will flower and come to fruition.

              -Isaac Asimov

@sam-kowal Ooh, that puts kind of a big responsibility on us, doesn’t it?

(I actually meant anyone, whether famous or not, so it’s all good. 🙂 )

@rochellaine 😀 It does. It’s an inspiring quote, though.

🙂 Okay. So in case Stan ever becomes famous, he can still post his quotes here

@sam-kowal If Stan ever becomes famous he is more than welcome to post his quotes here. 🙂

                    Another quote I love, everyone:

“If you have built castles in the air, your work need not be lost; that is where they should be.  Now put the foundations under them.”

                                                               Henry David Thoreau

I think that’s great for imaginative people who have a hard time with the down-to-earth aspects of writing.

@rochellaine What a cool thread topic! I love all your quotes guys!
I don’t know who originally said this but I’ve always liked the quote
                      “Seek progress, not perfection.” 🙂

                      and I was so confused

This is for all the editors and grammaticians out there…

“I hold that a man has as much right to spell things the way they are pronounced as he has to pronounce them the way they ain’t spelled.”
