A lot of people love to listen to music as they write, and I’m definitely one of them. Here are some of my favorites that never get old:

    1) Helen Jane Long music. So. Beautiful.

    2) Ludovico Einaudi. His music has a unique touch to it

    3) Bluegrass Worship CD (30 songs by various artists) available on Amazon

    4) The Nelons music. A gospel music singin’ family. Awesome voices.

    5) Energetic Irish music. My guinea pig likes to dance to this. 😜

What are your favorite kinds of music to listen to? Hehe, do you have a pet that likes to dance to music too?!

Ooh, Helen Jane Long’s music is beautiful. I listen to a lot of instrumentals while writing, especially The Piano Guys, TSFH, and film scores. Also whatever is on “Classical for Studying” on Pandora. 🙂

Ludovico Einauldi… never heard of the guy. I’ll give him a listen.

@jenwriter17 Ah! I love Ludovico Einaudi. Which is your favorite of his? I think mine is Nuvole Bianche.

I like a lot of instrumentals as well…. I have waaay too many playlist for writing.

Audiomachine. Pretty much all of their songs. They’re epic. Like TSFH.

Brunuhville. They have some pretty, epic, celtic stuff.

Luca Stricagnoli. All his songs are guitar, but they are amazing.

    Keith Merrill.

I won’t go off and name them all…there are too many. But that’s the basic stuff. 😀

    😀

I like folk music, and bluegrass and some old country (but not a lot)

Also, classic rock, and Christian pop/rock

Most of all, epic instrumental music and film scores (The Lord of the Rings, The Hobbit, Star Wars, Jurassic Park, Pirates of the Carribean, Two Steps from Hell, etc.)

My favorite band is Twenty One Pilots, who are basically none of those kinds of music. They’re hard to describe. Sorta their own genre, and excellent

I also like a bunch of sorta-indie artists and bands, like the Lumineers and Andrew Bird

And Stan… don’t even get me started on what he likes

@jenwriter17  My favorite kind of music right now is actually instrumental music. My favorite albums/collections are:

    • Fresh Aire — a series of eight albums of cheesy electronic music. Some of it is too cheesy to me, and all the rest is AWESOME. I listen to it as I write the KPA
    • Windham Hill’s Winter Solstice — Also a series. I have volumes 2 and 5, and they’re both fantastic
    • Studio Ghibli piano edition — My dad and I found this on SoundCloud. A one-and-a-half-hour-long collection of Studio Ghibli music covered on piano (Studio Ghibli is a large series of Japanese anime fantasy/sci-fi movies by Hayao Miyasaki. They’re awesome)
    • You, Me & Gravity. The soundtrack album for the game Planet Coaster. Wonderful. Amazing. Some of the best instrumental music EVER. Listen to it, I dare you. …And play the game
    • Autumn in New England, an album of ambient music with I LOVE
    • General classical music (Mozart, Lizst, etc.) is pretty good, too. I listen to that when I don’t feel like thinking XD
    • Animusic. They are a collection of animations set to music with unique instruments. It’s hard to explain, but PLEASE find it and watch it/ listen to it if you haven’t already! The animations are cool, and the music is awesome!
    • Touch the Strings! This album is extremely underrated! Find it and listen to it! It’s piano, guitar and violin music

    And if you want lyrical…

    • Switchfoot, my favorite band. Fantastic
    • Hollyn, my favorite singer. AMAZING music. It’s so powerful.
    • TobyMac, my favorite singer next to Hollyn. Very unique style. He’s awesome
    • The song “Don’t Stop Believing” by Journey. Who doesn’t like that song? X)
    • The soundtrack for the animated movie Home is also amazing (yes, it is mainly lyrical)
    • Rio and Rio 2 have pretty good lyrical soundtracks, too
    • Mercyme. Not my favorite band, but still pretty great

I love the music from the game Abzu, composed by Austin Wintory. (The music he composed for Journey is amazing too, but I don’t listen to it much because it makes me emotional)
Owl city is awesome for me in general, but I love listening to his project Voyager 1, under Adam Young.
I also like listening to No Man’s Sky soundtrack.

The child of light soundtrack is super inspiring for me right now (Its a game, though I’ve never played it and know almost nothing about lol)

Also love listing to ambient music with rain sounds. Super relaxing/inspiring.
