@emma-flournoy It is different. To me there are various benefits to both public schooling and homeschooling. I like both but do not have a preference. I was not homeschooled out of choice though.

@TheAcornMan *nod* That makes sense. One of my favorite things about it is the flexibility, and all the time you’re able to spend with your family instead of out most of the day, when half that time is just in-between time when you’re not even in classes. When you’re at home, that in-between time can be spent doing something productive, and much more is accomplished.
I also like being able to have some say in my own learning material, and having my parents in charge of what’s taught, because not everything taught in public schools is stuff I believe. And it’s good to not have to study it, and instead concentrate on studying things more on my values scale. That sounds kind of stuck-up I guess, but I don’t mean it that way. And it’s Biblical for parents to teach their children anyway. 😀@emma-flournoy That is what I like about homeschool. Except, from my own experience, it can alienate you from the real world. (which can be a good thing, don’t get me wrong). I also found I was very bad at socialising with new people and less independant. Anyways, that is my experience yours is probably completely different. I think education would be best with a mixture of elements from the two methods. I know I didn’t but do you get homework alongside homeschool?

@TheAcornMan Yeah, one definitely has to make an effort to keep themselves from being isolated and just doing their own thing all away from the world. And I mean, we do learn about things we don’t believe, so we’ll be equipped to interact with those who have different views; but not to believe everything we read about. It’s true though; there’s more effort involved in several areas.
Not really, no… Since we do all our school at home anyway, it all kinda counts as homework. 😀@emma-flournoy I thought you wouldn’t have homework. But you never know for certain until you know.
