I was meaning after you finish sewing, you’ll eventually have to cut the thread, or it will be hanging all over the place and look silly.

Bland,
And the gray of night,
Shivering hands.
No light.
I couldn’t fight,
Tasteless.
I couldn’t write…
Numbness.
Why?
A question…
A question for the sky.
Of this evil infection?
Why the gray,
Does life always,
Have to be this way?
All the ends in frays?
In the fog,
The olde black-and-white
I wander and slog…
I need a little bright.
Into the fridge,
I find myself…
But with doubt I cringe.
Would there be empty shelf?
But hunger for color,
It drives me,
Forces me out of dolor.
So I open it hopelessly.
On the bare glass of cold,
A single plate,
Aweful to behold,
Awaits, yes, it waits.
There…. color and taste.
The only red, ripe, ready…
Calling, it’s calling. Make haste!
I reach for it. Ready…
Because raspberry, frozen raspberry,
You are my sunshine.

A small shiny fish, wiggling and squirming
But also very confirming
