@that_writer_girl @jane-maree @dragon-snapper In case anyone’s wondering, here’s the story behind Snapper being a kid.

Once upon a time, in the fair Kingdom of Pen, there was a dragon who melted people’s personal property and was continually telling wise and respectable elves to (and I quote), “Just write.” Not only was it highly un-dragonlike, as dragons are supposed to either be evil gold-lusting barbarians or cute friendly black things with retractable teeth, but it was just plain rude. The wise and respectable elf was a long-suffering elf as well, but the poor people of Pen were beginning to run out of chairs, and something had to be done. Donning her dragon-proof elven cloak (not the one Daeus stole, but a new one), she faced the nuisance dragon, and with a roaring green voice proclaimed,

“Well kids, that’s it for me. I wrote 670 words.”

The dragon was horrified, and shrieked, “Kid? I am no kid!” in a way that made one think she was emulating Eowyn. However, she was not.

Thus it was that the Kingdom of Pen was saved, and the dragon’s threat decreased significantly in the presence of the wise elf, who continued to call her kid, though she received a considerable amount of backlash for her trouble. That poor, long-suffering elf has never heard the end of “Just write” since.
